Thanks for the piece. Please are you currently studying in any of these schools or you are about to start your application?

None of the above

Hello,

Please this is another DS 160 Form question.

In the space where they asked who is sponsoring the trip, do they mean the person sponsoring my studies or just the trip abroad?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Judging by past experiences here, I think it is just the trip abroad.

I stand corrected please

I had the same issue browsing with mobile network . Someone here suggested that I change my internet provider. I opened the form in an office with WiFi and it worked.

Now works fine, with another network. Many thanks!

Good day guys, please I need advice on some certain issue, I got an admission at University of Houston, we did a zoom meeting today about the course, the department is proposing we enrol online and start classes while we wait for embassy to open. So my question is can I start classes online pending the time embassy open without paying tuition due to the risk of the visa. Thank you
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by sonofakin: 4:27pm On Jun 16, 2020
I believe you will have to pay. Maybe if you have scholarship, you might not have to. But this is really a kind of question you should ask your school. You won't get the answer you seek here

Nayo10: Congratualtions on your admission to University of Houston, very valid question. I think you should speak to your department or a graduate advisor you have been liaising with. They are in a better position to advise you on what you can do regarding payment due to your concerns on Visa. You just prepare very well for your Visa interview and be optimistic. The fact that you have started classes gives you a + plus that you are a genuine student. All the best.

I'll advise you don't pay for the eShipGlobal fee yet(if that is what you are trying to do).
Request for a soft copy of the i-20. It is highly uncertain there'll be interview for fall.

But work on your preparation for the interview. There's no limit to how much preparation you can have.

I am kinda confuse on when the embassy might open. During a nap yesterday, I saw a dream in which a large plane landed in a US airport. Then I saw buildings with a lot of students who look as though they are in new environment. I am the type who see things before they happen (though not always). I find it difficult to interpret this particular dream, so I will suggest to you and other students reading this, the embassy may open its door in a twinkling of an eye, with fast-processing visa procedures...and there may be fall resumption. Likely!
Just prepare yourself as though the embassy will open first week of July. But if they don't, you don't lose anything!

This is a bad dream ..this dream means setback and if the student you see do not put extra strength ,work harder to achieve their goals and pray ...they may not achieve the desire result to get to usa ...that meaning of your dream .. I wish everybody the best.

Really? The people in the dream were mostly ladies. And my dreams are usually literal; they happen as seen. Can I DM you? It'd be nice to know how you reach this interpretation and conclusion. smiley Please don't quote me again to avoid having this subject in multiple places on the thread. There's a mountain goat waiting to attack already. Pls modify your comment and leave it empty once you see this; will do the same.

At most, 2 sponsors is appropriate for this cause.
Family members with strong ties should be the sponsor. Remember we are talking about millions of Naira here?
And why does it sound like you did not plan about who and how to finance your studies before you start the process?
The amount expected to be in the sponsor (s) accounts "at the moment" and when going to the embassy, should not be less than the amount estimated by the school as total cost of attendance. This means your sponsor (s) must have more than $27, 500 in their bank accounts.

Yea you can enroll and start class online without paying tuition. Your tuition will be calculated based on the amount of classes you enroll in and you can go ahead and start class. Though they will give you a deadline to pay tuition.

Most schools won't cancel your enrollment if you don't pay up on the deadline, they'll hit you with a penalty fee instead. They will however prevent you from enrolling for subsequent semesters if you haven't paid up at the beginning of the next semester .

So my advice for y'all, if your school offer you online fall classes, take it but don't pay a dime till you get your visa and get to campus. Don't let your school hustle on your head as paying tuition and doing an online semester won't guarantee you visa

Disclamer: Please ignore my advice above If you have the money to pay while in Naija and don't mind losing it if you don't get visa later on or you are OK with doing the full program online if you don't get visa later on.

I actually don’t think it is a bad dream. I think the dream may have been an extension of his own thoughts but nothing about the dream screams negativity.

[quote author=JadePrincess post=90246895]Hi Guys,

Thank you all so much for your contribution on this platform.

This is where I am at:

I got admission into 6 US universities.

Texas Tech : Computer Science (1k Scholarship, instate tuition)
Purdue University, Fort Wayne: Computer Science (didn’t qualify for GA, they already picked 5 people)
Oakland University: System Engineering (GA Pending feedback)
East Tenesse State University: Computer and Information Science (No feedback yet)
Michigan Tech: Data Science (No GA for data science)
North Carolina A&T State university: Computational Science and Engineering (GA pending feedback)

I have also gotten my i20 for Texas Tech, however I’m not quite sure what next step to take seeing that COVID-19 is grinding everything to a halt.

Should I pay for visa fees, can we schedule interviews whilst the embassy is still closed.

Or should I just defer the admissions?

Any advice kind Sirs and Mas?

Also, is there anyone in ETSU or NCAT that can help with advice for G.A? There’s been no response and I’m chucking it down to the COVID-19 brouhaha. But any other useful advice would be greatly appreciated.

Please.

Thank you.

Hello jade, were you offered the scholarship after receiving the notice for admission? Or did your offer of admission include the scholarship given?
Thanks for the anticipated response!

I think everyone hoping to resume this fall should email their Graduate program coordinators to give them an update on the situation of visa applications in the country. And also ask for possible alternatives they have in place for students who might not be able to make it for fall 20.

Here is what CSUOhio sent me.
