It makes no difference.

The touted policy of limited transfer on cash deposit and vice versa is not valid.

No bank has notified me nor effected it.

I've withdrawn thousands of wired USD this year and I have also transferred thousands of cash USD deposited over the counter.

People should verify info they share in the public domain and avoid speculations, rumours, sentiments and pessimism.

Best!

Did you originally deposit the USD INTO YOUR domiciliary account in CASH or via ELECTRONIC TRANSFER? Please confirm. Thank you.

Yes, a few days to handover, but with the benefit of hindsight, it was for the better as whatever trick he may have had up his sleeves, the cost of TAM since 2007 far outweights it.

Those against it were able to easily latched on to that. Do not forget that OBJ was the de-facto Petroleum Minister for 8 years. So just waking up a few days to handover to privatize what he has been overseeing for 8 years was taken as suspicious by those against it. The privatization could easily have been done in his 5th year. It was seen as he did not want others to chop from TAM after chopping it for 8 years. cheesy

Theconglomerate, hope you are reading this.
Ask the person how much he withdrew.
I wonder why others are facing problems with fx withdrawals while some are saying it's so easy.
I just have to conclude that the sum they are withdrawing is the difference.

Gbenga Oyebode is married to the daughter of the late head of state General Muritala Mohammed, this doesn't mean that the gentleman was not qualified for the deal he closed for big businesses in corporate Nigeria.
Someone defined luck as when opportunities meet preparation.

This is a young man who graduated from Ife 41 years ago at the age of 20, left law school 40 years ago at the age of 21. Got a Master degree in Business law from the University of Pennsylvania 38 years ago at the age of 23. Got a Post graduate certificate in Business Management from Harvard University.

Qualified and got license to practice law in New York. Worked as an attorney with a law firm in New York for a year, worked in the legal department at Chevron Headquarters in Huston Texas for 3 years.

Came back to Nigeria in 1986, together with Ajumogobia, Okeke and Aluko set up a Commercial law firm. Until he left in 1992 to co-found Oyebode and Aluko chamber which is about the biggest multi disciplinary Commercial law chamber in Nigeria with core competencies in Oil and Gas, Energy, Foreign Direct Investment, Capital Market, Aviation, Project finance, Privatisation, Maritime, Telecommunication etc.

He is a member of the Nigeria Bar Association, American Bar Association, International Bar Association. For many years he was the chairman of the Business law section of the Nigeria Bar Association.

He is a member of the Advisory board of Johannesburg Stock Exchange, award national honours by Nigerian and Belgian government. Former Chairman of Crusader Insurance, Access Bank, former director of MTN. Current chairman of Okomu Oil and Rubber, CFAO and other companies.

With his pedigree as a member of Johannesburg Stock Exchange, it is certain that he will be the preferred Corporate lawyer for South Investors and companies that are newly coming into the country or already in the country eg ShopRite, Multi Choice, Promasidor, Broll Property, Stanbic IBTC etc.

With his work experience in the US, he will be the preferred Corporate lawyer for American Businesses in Nigeria.

I actually got the mail about those restrictions months ago

My bank I use for dorm account sent it to me

That's why some were saying what they are saying

Saying it's not valid just like that is surprising

Maybe it was not followed up
Maybe it was done on a bank by bank basis

I dunno.

All I can say about this man, is that he is someone who knows what he wanted, made plans for what he wanted and actualize what he wanted

We have 2 major resources ie time and money.

He invested his time well, acquiring relevant education, getting the right experience, developing marketable skills, building relevant business relationships and associations, all these allowed him to make good money by specialising in highly lucrative areas of his profession.

He also invested his money well, this enabled him to build substantial wealth.

Big Businesses can save billions of Naira from quality legal advice, they can also make huge money through good legal advice.

A few weeks ago, a lawyer shared some insights about real estate Investments and most of us gain tremendously from the insight.

When GSM was introduced into Nigeria by Obasanjo. The operators paid $280 million as license fees.

The first group of Nigerian Investors were banks, top bankers, State government and corporate lawyers.
Most cases smart corporate lawyers preferred to be paid in shares because of the projected growth of the business.
.

Econet now Airtel had the following shareholders First Bank, FCMB, Oba Otudeko, Otunba Subomi Balogun, Lagos State, Delta State and Akwa Ibom state to mention a few.

MTN had the following shareholders Access Bank, Diamond Bank, Pascal Dozie, Victor Odili, Tunde Folawiyo, Sanni Bello, Gbenga Oyebode and another 180 shareholders.

These guys did not earn any dividend on their investments for about 10 years because all the revenue were used to expand the business and service debts. But the Investors are now making big money every year courtesy of the investment they made about 20 years ago

Quite an impressive profile.

His education, exposure and experiences (3Es) offered more than the relationship most persons allude to.

Chances are that those (3Es) also gave him access to the General’s daughter, given that she was also thrilled by his composition.

You can never underestimate the value of timely and qualitative education (not mere schooling) delivered in the best atmosphere and blended with exposure and rich experiences.

Is MTN a Nigerian government business?

A South African business coming to Nigeria to invest for the first time will prefer to employ an Nigeria business lawyer who is also a board member of the South African Johannesburg Stock Exchange to represent them and draw agreement of the deal for them

Check the board of Dangote companies, be has a Corporate lawyer sitting on the board because he knows their importance

Corporate lawyers are the deal makers in the business world.

Founder of FCMB was a lawyer.

Legal adviser of Nigeria Industrial and Development Bank.

Before he resigned to set up his Investment Banking firm in 1977.

Earnest Sonekan joined UACN as a lawyer in the legal department of the company.

Wale Tinubu is a lawyer, his eyes were opened to opportunities in Oil and Gas, Maritime when he worked at the commercial law unit of FRA William Chambers

Aig Imoukhuede, the former CEO of Access Bank is a lawyer. Who worked briefly in the chamber of Gbenga Oyebode before he joined the banking sector.

Can you share a link of Gbenga Oyebode to NNPC or Abacha loot. Abacha loot are not in Nigeria, foreign lawyers and bankers employed by the Attorney general of the federation is in charge of the professional advisers for the recovery of such fund.

If you link him to Shell, Mobil, Chevron, Nestle, Access Bank, ShopRite, Seplat, Foreign Investors, I will agree with you. Private sector is about competence unlike what is obtainable in civil service.

Muritala Mohammed died in 1976, so I am surprised how he influenced the job he got at Chevron Headquarters at Huston Texas in 1984

People should be paid for the job done, provided that is the acceptable rate.

Recovery of looted funds can take years, corporate lawyers are paid based on the value of the transaction..

All companies coming to raise funds on the stock market or through corporate bond needs a corporate lawyer to package the deal. That is the normal practice as approved by SEC.

Google Olaniwun Ajayi law firm, it is a multi billion Naira law firm on Banana Island ikoyi. The firm is currently managed by the son of founder a SAN and PhD in law holder. A major law firm that works for Dangote Businesses in Africa and other multi national companies
