Please no one has said anything about Sachet water production

National Assembly has a bill to ban single-use plastics somewhere in its in-tray. Once they're done with enacting the Singapore NCDC bill, they'll turn their attention to other matters.

No, I don't know if there is any sort of differentiation made between PET bottles on the basis of original liquid content, and if so, why.
I would have thought that all waste plastic of the same type was the same.
I looked into the business a couple of years ago, but ultimately didn't move forward with it.

A devaluation will affect all naira earnings, including bond interest, rendering them worth less than previously.

But the multiple exchange rates dont make sense either

Let's go back to the era when all exchange rates had the same band

You should know the difference

I do not see how Nigeria can ever have a unified exchange rate, people who move in illegal money will always need the backend exchangers as well as those who are not necessarily doing anything evil but not want to be tracked.

I'm in support of free float

And stop paying subsidies

Go check my previous comments.

All that forex we are wasting is not the best.

Note
Free float does not equate devaluation

And a free float will bring in a lot of forex

But bdc operators may not like it
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by speak2lift: 1:30pm On Jun 18, 2020
Thanks a lot @TheConglomerate.

This is insightful.

I think the next step is for us as individuals to look inwards and try to identify the agricultural resources we have in abundance as a nation and where to source for them.

I will never forget my initial surprise wen I saw someone who said he exports Tigernuts and thats all he does. All those things that one takes for granted here.

[quote author=Theconglomerate post=90801208]To me I think if you can be patient to wait for TBs to mature after one year, then you can do official export.
First stage is sampling, you first send the buyer what he wants via UPS and the likes so that you guys can finalise on

Lol.
I agree with the bolded, but in our case a float will most probably result in devaluation.
The naira should be floated, but I find it difficult to believe that after watching it for a while the CBN will be able to refrain from resuming targeted interventions.

Well, floating is not really a solution in our case.
It comes with it's own problems which is SPECULATION.
This is why I say we get the true value of the naira first(by free float of course) and devalue appropriately.
Floating does not bring FDI or FPI because investors aren't confident.
Investors want devaluation so they won't be in for any surprise.
Naira is overvalued, the true price of naira is in the 400 range,450 if you ask me.

Dear Investor,

While the low rate regime persist in the Tbills and MMF, a good alternative with Gurranteed principal and interest will be VGIF at 8.5% currently and 7.5% effective from July 1st because CBN reviewed SDF recently.

VGIF is managed by Investment one (former GTBank asset management)

N.B: investment one will never ask for cash to open account online.

When you devalue appropriately, forex will be surplus and difference between black market and single official rate no go pass 5 naira.
Na so e suppose to be.
Wetin dey make black market explode na CBN dollar liquidity scarcity.
That makes everyone in Nigeria patronise black market by force and explodes their price as they go through hell to get that money.
Imagine going to kenya to source for forex to sell in Nigeria.
Now you get the picture I hope.

@unite4real from your experience, how many weeks or months does it take before you are credited your alloted number of Sukuk.
Is it usually this disorganised or this (Sukuk III) happens to be a peculiar situation because of the oversubscription?

I have not really seen any disorganization yet apart from the change in date of the allotment date and I am thinking it was because of the presidential speech. You recall PMB reiterated the sukuk project. I guess they wanted the announcement of the allotment to come after the speech.

As for the allotment, it has been done already. It's administrative work by the financial advisers that is going on. Your days for your first coupon or rent is getting closer as it has already started counting down.

For the dematerialization of the sukuk to appear on your CSCS, it's usually 15 business days from the allotment date. Let's say from June 12 to another one month.

For you to start trading it in case you want to sell or buy, it will take like 6 months to be listed on the Nigeria stock exchange.

This has been my experience
