Are the Igbos the only one lamenting? What a childish comment.

Chlerion:
Nothing in this world makes me happy than seeing Igbos lamenting and crying. I love seeing them gnashing their teeth, suffering and dejected...and everytime I read threads like this, my heart always fill with joy and satisfaction.

Long may your woes continue...amen kiss kiss kiss

Most honest Nigerians are strugglers. The system is such that it does not allow honesty to be rewarding. To get job, one must tell lies, to enjoy good things about life, one must tell lies too as a Nigerian. These boys are just making it worse daily. If he was nabbed outside the US, our politicians would lobbied to have him released just like Hushpuppi and Mompha. This boy has released names and has opened the secrets of many Nigerians who are going to be nabbed very soon. Imagine the secretary of treasury of the US said it with confidence that the US will track down Nigerian scams. This is not good for honest Nigerians. The best bet is that every honest Nigerian dreaming of moving round the world without dual citizenship should let the dream off his/her mind. We are already in a big mess. Just have a reasonable source of income and live a godly life in Nigeria. Applying for visas is not wise anymore. Our image has been destroyed seriously.

It simply means that Amaka Anajemba invested into so many people....

Whether the money is legal or illegal if you render help to some very nice people and you go down for whatever reason, they are likely to honour you and help you start life afresh...

Now... that's how those people are...
#From where I come from, we don't take kindness for granted

NO they are not supposed to honor you. that is wrong.. Because you helping them does not negate the fact that is ill gotten.. It is like me stealing your money and give you transport fare from it and you will say you need to honor me for being kind to you..

Wow. A possible 20 years is harsh for fraud. UK he would probably get no more than 7 years to serve 2/3 which is about 4 years and 8 months.

Same awaits Hushpuppi if Yankee gets their hands on him. I guess the message is to keep your Yahoo yahoo 419 in Nigeria.

First time offender, and less than 10 victims should be expecting 10 to 12 years for 11 million dollar white collar crime. He will do about 10 years before he's deported back to Nigeria. Oh well.

98 percent of those accused in US Federal courts will eventually plead guilty. It's almost impossible to win.
If it's almost impossible to win it then means there is a chance he could be innocent.
There has been many convicted blacks in the US who were later found to be innocent many years down the line.

Precious Daddy,

Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die:
Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:
Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

Lastly, My Daddy! Whatever you cannot give to me, I do not need it! May it Never come to me .
I ask all these in JESUS NAME...Amen

Your Little boy

Amen, amen.

Once he's out of prison, he would come back to Igboland and collect chieftaincy title. He may even be given a political appointment.

Amaka Anajemba convicted of the largest fraud in the world which made Brazilian banks collapse was given a political appointment in Igboland.

That's how those people do.

LOL.

Last year's CBN End-of-Year party organized for banks in Enugu was held at her hotel in GRA.

You wan try Naija?

P.S. Invictus Obi probably pled guilty based on the advice of his lawyers, which I think is a wise move. Less stress for the courts, no need for any jury.

Since 20 years is the stated max for his crimes and being his first conviction, he'd probably get 8 - 14 if the judge is not an overly harsh one and if he maintains a good behaviour during his incarceration, he won't even get to serve the full term before being deported. Though I wonder how much the judge will ask him to refund.

Most times some people run scams involving the US and get away with it, simply because they are small fry cases not worthy of receiving heavy pursuit of investigators. Or the investigators might take their time in building the case, waiting for you to fall into their trap. If they really want to catch you, they would. Easily.

I saw the memo request for arrest warrant which the investigating FBI Special Agent presented to a judge just before Obi's arrest and the memo contained transcripts of Obi's chats with a US-based Naija contact (they spoke pidgin sometimes).

The FBI agent asked for immediate approval of his request that night as he claimed Obi was about to travel back to Nigeria the next day, meaning they even had Obi's itinerary. The memo also contained excerpts from some of Obi's Gmails.

This tells us that none of our communications on Google, FB (WhatsApp now belongs to FB, so forget that "end-to-end encryption" bullshit they claim), Microsoft or even any American device, hardware or network is secure. All our communications are being surveilled ALL THE TIME.

Even TOR that some people use to mask their internet activity was developed by the US Naval Research Labs, receives the bulk of it's funding from the same US NVRL and DARPA and is under constant monitoring by the NSA through their XKeyscore program. So I ask again, who the heck are you deceiving when you run scams through the US?

Just be legit in whatever you do. All these scam bla bla bla eventually backfires someday. You might not get caught in act, you might even make your money, quit, get married and have kids. One day you decide to travel for a vacation, they'll just embarrass with one nonsense arrest and your life will just be plastered on Instagram, FB, Nairaland and LindaIkejisBlog. undecided

Of course not. Just saying it is significantly higher than he would get elsewhere. Fraud is white collar crime and sentencing should not be as harsh or as unforgiving as violent crime.

20 years is way too much in my opinion for fraud.

Our money culture, greed, the lack of content, the need to show off will NEVER allows us to be great.

If I am the judge, I will sentence him to the maximum, if he can still operate a computer when he gets out, he’s still a danger to society. They never learn!
