based on this bro, which will slightly or out perform each other, Redmi Note 9 pro vs MI 9t?

The Redmi Note 9S (or Pro) with the SD720G will slightly outperform the Mi 9T (or Redmi K20) with the SD730.

Both the 730 and the 720G come with A76 CPUs for their heavy lifting but the 730 is clocked at 2.2GHz while the 720G is clocked at 2.3GHz. This alone gives it a slight nudge ahead.

This will reflect in GeekBench and Antutu benchmarks when the 720G holds a slight lead over the 730. This is in terms of CPU performance alone.

As we be Africans, na numbers dey move us. I once tried to show someone that SD675 was far superior to SD665. He almost took my head off. He refused to agree that SD675 had a better performance. In truth SD675 performed as well as, if not even better than the SD710 and 712.

All those numbers are for marketing. The new SD690 5G will destroy SD710 and 712 too yet if you look at the names, you'll think otherwise.

Let the architecture and the bench marks show you the way Baba.

You are correct, what people don't know is that those series are generational, each series improves every year and they tend to use better cortex and more power efficient in those chip year on year. Poeple should not expect SD600 series to perform less than 5 past generation of 800 series, this is where the number matters
For instance i dont see why SD675 will not outperform SD821 or even SD835 both in processing power, image processing, graphics processing and power efficiency due to advent of new technology and chips making technique that was not available before, also because of competition and urge by chips maker and phone manufacturers to out do each other at every category.

What is painful is that this is not supposed to be subject of discussion in a sane society, u dont needs to be tech geek to know this simple logic and it is there all over the internet. As long as u are educated and above 18 and less than 45 years, u have no excuse not to know it. However we have a bad culture of not learning simple things that we use everyday.

People reading this should know CPU in laptops are totally different from CPU in phones don't mind the 2.5ghz phones can't achieve those speeds in real time infact due to many things like heat, battery and size of mobile devices they run on an architecture called soc which is where ARM comes in, and they are very low powered (don't draw enough watts) to match power requirements of laptops ... just note that

Very true sir.. Its why the objective is to push potential smartphone buyers towards the chipset research and inquisition path. Being ignorant as regards to this is no longer an acceptable commodity, there are known assailant waiting to pounce on that weakness for personal gains and a lot of enlightened people in the tech universe won't have that.

I like deca-core chips shall.. The more the merrier... Sad the technology to archive that is not available on a large scale production for midrange and highend chipsets yet.
I trust mediatek to try again, they tried it once, they will spring it up again for the midrange department.

It is this simple analogy by the op here that explains why Mediatek's Dimensity 800 is causing a lot of troubles to Snapdragon's midrange 5G chipsets.
The midrange SD 765 and the new 690 5G chip are finding the Mediatek Dimensity 800 too strong an opponent to deal with, the cores on the Mediatek Dimensity 800 are crazy good and fast.
Sd is preparing an answer though; 775G.

The problem is the power consumption, octa is enough for all the multitasking our phone will do, packing 10core looks like over kill especially non power efficient cores is a burden on battery and heating issue is inevitable.

May be decacore may make a come back when 5nm technology becomes cheap, however instead of decacore i will always prefer less of high performance cores over more of lower performance core.

You've said it all. We mostly follow numbers instead of the substance that is represented by the numbers.

It what we're trying to do sha. At least, simplify this thing so that before my country people buy phone, no one will claim Octa-core when na 8 A53 CPU cores them put inside chipset under the name of Octa-core.

All these ones we're saying, some will still not care. But to quote Jesus, "A doctor doesn't come for the healthy". Na for the people when need am.

On the contrary, 10 core is better.
Instead of have big-little core configuration of 2 powerful core, 2 less powerful core and 4 average performing core.

For 10 cores it becomes this.
3 powerful cores.
3 less powerful cores.
4 average performing cores.

And there is no power consumption problem, instead, its more power efficient. When the more power intense cores are not needed, they are completely dormant.
But when they are needed, the 3cores will complete tasks 20% faster against the performance of the 2 cores.
This actually brings better performance and more efficient use of the battery life and less heating.

The only shortcoming when the 10core architecture is considered, its developing a cpu smart enough to properly distribute the workload appropriately.

I am confident that issue won't be a problem for long, if it can be done for Octacore, decacore isn't far behind.

Some unverified information/speculation are claiming Mediatek is working on a twelve core chipset with ARM.

Please remember where you heard it first. From me :}

Yep, Mediatek had litte or no help from Technology. This was shown in their arrogant dive into the chipset market hoping to manipulate people into the more core theory.

They have a credible team of mathematicians and physicians now, they will get it done if they try again.

I feel MediaTek have the prototype of this already, hence their new found energy burst trying to push their name in the chipset market as a reliable brand.

Lets be realistic, if Mediatek is able to pull of the decacore or even more core stunt. It will take snapdragon a long time to catch up. And the Chinese will be all over that.

Now that number is not a determinant of how good the cores are, it is now looking more complex than i imagine.
So,i have to be familiar with every single chipset, regardless of the number appended.

well to be honest with you number of cores sometimes matter even in mobile devices, it's just like labour division, say if 8 people are pulling water out of a well no matter how small they are if they got enough speed they'll do a perfect job in performance than when 2 persons are doing the same job even at greater speed, and when it comes to mobile it all boils down to architecture of the processor... so yeah it won't be overkill having 10 cores cos las las peformance demand on mobile devices is going up rather this recent years

What you have typed is the exact reason why people should be literate in these matters. By convention an SD675 should not be as powerful as either the SD821 or even the SD835, but this is not so. I can just imagine someone ignorantly going for the old SD801, SD810, SD821, or the fairly recent SD835 in lieu of the more powerful, deceptively labeled SD675. Information is indeed power.
