You'd have to submit documents backing your extenuating reason for doing this; you can't just decide to do this to escape the long waiting times in your residential country. Applying in your residential country is the standard requirement; it strengthens your application as it shows strong ties to the country where you're applying from.
The fact that there has been some flexibility in a part of the requirements in a different circumstance should not be taken as a means to disregard such requirements completely as it leads to a refusal.

Ps: Justwise, if you think citing this exception will lead people into thinking that it's the norm, pls feel free to remove my comments on it. Thank you.
SAMDEEA123:

I see but if in the end that is by the end of July 2020, it remains this way, I will resort to using the UKVAC in Ghana

If you read my previous response to him, you'd see the strengthen the application part. Someone I know did it on a visit visa from another country (which was why I spoke on it) but there were very serious reasons for doing it which was why I told the poster that it was better to apply from residential country.

How can I see your previous response when you mentioned me before advising him?
The screenshot you put clearly said visit visa, which is different from what he was talking about.
Made it seem as if I was wrong smh

I didn't say you were wrong. I actually thought I was responding to the initial poster and should have included info in my 2nd comment at the time but I was on the move.

Hello house,
I'm sorry if I sound like a novice but I really want someone to enlighten me about this UK tier 4 visa thing:
My wife intends to study for a one year Msc in the UK by September and want to stay back after studies leveraging on PSW.
The plan is to check on her during studies and probably fully settle down with her after studies.
But I just get to know we can go together, and that one person will be a dependent.....
If we want to go together, how much are we expected to have in our account after paying her school fees to have our Visa approved.
Someone should help on how this works.

Thanks

Hello house

Firstly, is their anyone going to Teesside University on a two years program this September? If yes, I need to know what the payment modalities are and what discount they give on the said tuition of £15,000(7500 per year).

Yes, going to Teesside this September.

Payment modalities;
You get a discount of £2000 in your first fees.

There are 3 options for payment of school fees. But you have to pay your deposit of £4000 first.

Option 1: You pay everything at once.

Option 2: you pay remaining balance in 3 equal instalments.

If you're going this September, your 3 installments will be due on
31st October 2020,
31st January 2021 and
30th April 2021.

Option 3: your pay remaining fees in 7 equal installments.

If you're going this September, your 7 installments will be due on
31st October 2020,
30th November 2020,
31st December 2020,
31st January 2021,
28th February 2021,
31st March 2021 and
30th April 2021.

Yes, I am clear on the maintenance part but not certain if it is the balance of the 2 years fees or balance of one year.. cause her bill was showing year 1 and year 2. Is it the balance of everything or balance of year 1 after paying deposit?.
Hubbysluv:
Hi
I will be going with two kids and my husband as dependent and my course is 2years duration.
I believe the maintenance fee is for 9 months as stated in the UK website
So you are to have balance of your school fees + (your 9 months maintenance fee)+ your dependent maintenance fee(9months) i your account for 28 days including weekends before you print out for your visa application. It is advisable to maintain the balance for like 31 days though

You only need to show the tuition fee (full or balance) for the first year of your course

To apply for visa in another country especially Ghana, you need to show a proof that you've been a resident of Ghana for at least 6 months. This is the major rule.

If your funds can sustain a 2 year program, it's up to you but since it's solely to afford you a settlement opportunity, I think it's a waste of money. Hope you know that if you don't get tier 2 sponsorship or switch to the tier 1 route, you'd need to leave at the end of your studies + PSW period.
Note: there's a cap on the number of years that you can study for so, going for a PhD (usually 3-4 years) might not be enough for you to stack up valid leave (+ your 1 or 2 years MSc visa and 2 years PSW) towards the 10-year settlement route.

If married, a spouse can do a two year MSc as well plus PSW

Please i need advice in these areas.

Can i use a joint account with a friend for my visa application.

I got an offer in Public Health at Glasgow Caledonian University and Global Health at University of Glasgow. Which would you advice i go for.

Is there a difference between public health and global health in job wise.

Am not expected to pay any deposit beforw receiving my CAS in one of d offer, do you think this will affect my visa process?

Thanks for your prompt reply.
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 3:32pm On Jun 19, 2020
Do you mean as a dependant? If yes, you can study (depends on the course) while in the UK but that shouldn't be the main purpose of your application for a dependant visa. If your spouse's tier 4 leave runs out before you finish your course, you won't be able to switch to a tier 4 visa in the UK.

If you're thinking about studying at the same time on T4 visas, it's possible but why would you want to do that? I'm thinking about the financial implications.

If you want to switch to a T4 visa towards the end of your partner's tier 4 + PSW visa, you won't be able to switch from a dependant visa to a tier 4 visa within the UK.

If you're named on the account as an account holder, yes you can.
Just curious though, why would you be using a joint account with your friend? Why not your own account? You don't have to answer if you don't want to.

If your school doesn't insist on any deposit before CAS, it wouldn't affect your visa application. Your school will only include your full tuition fee on your CAS and you'd have to show that you have held the funds in the stipulated manner.

1. She can go ahead of you while you visit during the course of her study. You however cannot work on a visit visa and will not be allowed to stay for extended periods.
2. You can go with her as a dependant in which case you are entitled to work full time as a dependant while she is restricted to just 20 hours weekly as a student
3. To go together, you need:
i. Full Tuition (or balance of tuition after paying deposit)
ii. Maintenance funds for 9 months for the principal applicant (ie total of £11,385 if living in London/£9,135 outside London) and for each dependent (£7,605 for London/ £6,120 outside London)
These funds must be in your account for a minimum of 28days before you apply for the visa and must continue to be available to you towards your stay in the UK

Other costs to prepare for:
iii. Immigration health surcharge of £450 per visa applicant for ostensibly 1 year course. Note that this is to increase in October.
iv. Visa fees of £348 per applicant
v. You'll also need to undergo a Tuberculosis testing at either of the designated IOM centers in Lagos and Abuja at $150 or $60 (over and under 11 years old respectively)

Hope this helps. Cheers

Good day to you all.
I have been planning and working on my admission to study in UK for some times now and everything seems to be moving smoothly until recently. I have an unconditional offer and tuition deposit of £2000 has already been paid courtesy of my sponsor. However, the story has now changed for worse because he is no longer capable of sponsoring the study due to his financial status (effect of COVID 19), he has even advised I request for refund of the tuition deposit.
Please, how do I go about this in order to get the refund even if it won't be in full.
Thanks.

You write to the school admission team that want a refund since you won't be able to attend.

Also state your reasons why you won't be able to make it.

They will tell you the procedure on how to get your refund.

All the best.
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Skymoore1004: 6:52pm On Jun 19, 2020
Just email the university with a refund request. Fortunately because of CONVID19, some universities are offering deposit refunds if you change your mind to proceed with study this year.

You can see sample from below (Wolverhampton University). So just email your university and explain you wish to get a deposit refund due to CONVID19 complications on your finance.
They should be willing to refund your money

All the best
