lol what exactly is doom? Death in military service? Baba you can die anywhere! I saw a video of a woman dancing at a party today dancing so vigorously, very healthy! And she just collapsed and died! On camera! So I ask you u again what is certain doom? People going to work in the morning lose their lives, people standing by the road! People sleeping! So come off it! God desires for you what you desire for yourself! I was told about a guy by one of the instructors in nda! Got shortlisted to train at the 6th time! It’s times and seasons! Once it’s your time, you’ll get it. I was there 62rc, SSC course 45/46 that doesn’t mean I won’t eventually get it!

Some fates are worse than death, bro. Having to live the rest of one's life dependent on others, due to an inflicted injury, is worse than death

True that passion is an indispensable ingredient in this journey. In fact, it is passion that will make you take your last money or even borrow to buy the needed kits, embark on the precarious journey to NDA or Jaji, endure the pains and humiliations of grinding your butts during screening, your head during training, beatings and the other rigours of training.

But let us not downplay the place of destiny or the perfect will of whatever Supreme Being one serves. It is important one takes a step back and reflect on the place of this journey in his entire destiny, especially after series of failed attempts.

Its alignment with your destiny will not only land you the job, but also help you go very far in it. Joining the Military, especially in our country, is a life-changing one. There are a lot of things which our friends who are already serving are bound by oath not to divulge.

I pray God grants us our heart desire.

3) As an SSC officer you are not trained to be a man of preacher of love, SSC officers can't be preaching love, you're a war, you're a fight, you're .........(you know the rest).

My hand don dey pain me, make I stop here there are things I don't remember sha.....

As for me I've always fancied the SSC, if given the option I'll go for it irrespective of the tussle/hassle as I am a very mobile, fun seeking and adventurous person.

Gracias

Ugo, my man, for most of us here, you are full Lieutenant. Those cadets wey go pass out this year, dem suppose pay you packard compliments when dem see you. You are very very informed, and it is high time we have informed candidates going for screening and eventually training, only then we will have low casualties and AWOL cases... grin

That is the passion..
Something lot of soldiers lack these days... Right where I leave 174 battalion, I can't count how many soldiers have gone AWOL because they were posted to Maiduguri. Ranking from warrant officers to captains.. Imagine the years wasted.

Sometimes I wonder why they join, if they don't want to go to war, or is there another meaning of being a soldier that I don't know..

To all the guys that wish to join to oppress their mates, those that want to join to visit shoprites and woo girls, those that just want to show off, you better rethink. Na war we dey go n nothing is guaranteed. Going AWOL is a big offense and shameful.
ARMY no be play.. Please give room for people that really can do the job

We are getting it all confused. Passion helps you land the Army job. But Commitment, Duty and Patriotism is what keeps you going and helps you stand your ground in the face of heavy gunfire. You need to have a lot of it. A lot of it. Sadly, in the face of very grave danger, it is easy to lose them and the first human instinct is to japaa

This Army job no easy ooo...if our fallen heros (respect!) were given the desertion option before they took that bullet, they will most likely take it.

May God protect all our serving personnel.

Ibadan when I go last year laugh nearly kill me. Majority of people I met don't know what the job entails. Some even voluntarily withdrew from the exercise when they got hint of the job, one guy like that came with a heavily bandaged neck, some with fibroid-like pot bellies.
It's good we enlighten newbies to prepare them psychologically make them no go waste their village slot for training, we will continue chipping in one or two things to prep guys based on say all join for community service. grin

i vehemently believe the army is not the only job on earth that one can find fulfillment, constant fails and attempts can be a clear message, Jeremiah 29 verse 11 is so true God's word cant lie. To hell with some so called passion it has sent so many young promising men to their early graves, the corrupt system is not what dying for.

Well maybe God help us but know one thing, back then during our parents time, they beg people to join the military but nowadays people join because no job. The major thing is to ask for the will of God to take place.

Bro u so funny, i'm a psychologist and i can tell you the side effect of been fighting war. Most of our soldiers, once they are back from the war front, there is nothing like therapy for them. Once u in deep into violence, u tend to be ruthless that's why sometimes u hear of a military man killing someone and so on. Till date those people that were alive during Biafra still have sad memories. So kindly remove that mindset u want them to post u to sambisa. Hope u know once anything bad happens to u, straight retirement. I saw pictures of men without no leg, arm and i was sad and started to think. Your prime can be cut short with a single bullet. You getting trained doesn't mean u must start to be killing, once u kill, u wont stop.

We all want to join the military, at the same time do know how many military personnel has tendered letter of retirement The population that wants to leave are something else, until u enter thats when u will know what's up. My lecturer's husband is a dssc officer, i told the wife i want to join, she said even the husband is tired of it and has lost interest, presently he is working for a security firm but first of all he took permission like a type of scope he is going for a course. Good Morning My Ogas....

I'm one of the Loyal silent observers of this thread for about Four Years now and I've learned alot and grew lot of Passion for NA.

I've got questions that I'll be glad if it is answered (experience can be cited)

1...Is there chance that the NYSC discharge Certificate is overlooked during screening or even eventual training ( I've got a friend that made the last two course, dude wasn't done serving NYSC then, and he was shortlisted, he made it pass screening, and to training even POP. when I asked how far, dude gave me that normal ''na God do am OH'' line ...as if na devil de do am before ),imagine LOL

I don't want to mention the course for security reasons

Even though I know it's a strong criteria ,plz I'll like to know if there's chance it is waived without strong connect either for MS or screening ground

2. I've Got a visible brown plaque (like burnt not up to 1/4 of the tooth) on my front tooth
Not cracked, not broken, Not painful, not even when hit
Do u think that's a challenge that can lead to disqualification?

God bless all our bosses in the house for always dropping beneficial info here.... I know there are hundreds others always viewing posts in this thread, una well done OH ,I know because I've done it for four years, in fact I'm the UNOFFICIAL GOC of Comment Refers Division

U need to see me whenever I lecture my folks about army commission (from information I stole from hereLOL ) ,them de see me like NDA instructor ,
in fact I've lectured two of my folks who made it to PIPPING (SSC and DSSC).. Me I still de pipless sha till now painfully and man Don de Old
