I know few people who got degree from Huddersfield and the review so far has been amazing, the tuition is affordable Huddersfield Yorkshire is more of a student community with affordable standard of living, please don't base your assumption on what you see on search engine get your fact from people whom you know that might have gotten a degree from the school
babaoloola:

...and you get to pay 50% tuition as deposit. General review about Huddersfield isn't that encouraging. I wish someone on ground can help with first hand info.

I am surprised the government changed their mind on opening domestic flights today . Normally issues are not taken seriously but this covid fight with airport closure has been taken seriously...... at this rate , it getting hard for Sept resumption to plan . But I guess it to start getting ready and see how it goes . There still some time

Airports and international flights will definitely resume by Mid August at most.

These politicians also have their kids who are leaving for studies this September. Some are also due for their annual medical checkups. Some are also in desperate need to go on holiday with their side chicks & relive the whole stress from corona.

Besides it’s not the government at fault (at least for interstate travel). It is the airlines. The domestic airlines are yet to provide all necessary documents required to fly up again & some are yet to pass the maintenance checks. Allowing people to fly without adequate safety measures is risky & you know how careless Nigerians can be.

There’s still time though against September

Local flights and interstate ban can still be lifted this week. This is just sunday and they did not announce a new date if it will be extended or not.

Some local airlines have been tweeting on twitter that they are ready and some routes they will be taken.

Lets be positive as long they haven't announced a new date.

I don’t think you should be worried about international flights,

I live close to the airport and I see flights coming in and departing every single day. I see Turkish airlines, Emirates, Air France, Qatar, Air India, Ethiopian airlines, Virgin, British airways and even KLM.

So I guess once the airport is opened to the public , people should be able to use it right away.

To add to this, when the meeting between the stakeholders and the government was held, some management staff from German airports authorities were called in to see how countries that have opened were able to do so. The purpose was to streamline the opening of external airlines into the country shortly after local flights resume. Feelers are suggesting that a reopen might occur locally in the first week of July.

Let's wait and see and pray. The Ireland embassy will start processing for its September intake from tomorrow. Their plan is to have prospective students submit at VFS after which the submission will be sent to the Abuja embassy and then scanned to the VO in Ireland who will begin processing. We know our funds is much needed in the abroad so hopefully, action will be taken to reopen fully soon!

True but they are mostly cargo related flights.

Nope,

I pretty much know the difference between a Cargo plane and a passenger flight, infact, I’m an aviation geek. cool

Yes, a lot of cargo planes come in but the ones I mentioned are all passenger flights.

This is actually correct lol.
I was talking to a friend who is a senior lecturer at a university. Apparently they’re cutting jobs but they’re also introducing a new strategy.
“Reconsidering declined applications”.
So basically if you did not meet the English requirements previously & you were declined an offer, you will get an email saying you can be offered a place if you can take the university’s English test. Or if your CGPA was too low, they’re offering 2-3 weeks intensive courses before start of the program.

That’s how much desperate they need funds from international students lmao.

There is a heavy demand for cargo planes worldwide now, and many airlines have converted some of their passenger planes to carry cargo, so those are most likely the planes you're seeing.

ALL of them could give discounts to international students.
Factors they consider may include (but not limited to);
Course, Country of origin, your undergrad CGPA, etc.

No Nairalander has a database of schools and discounts.

I have checked but the information is not available on their website that’s why I’m asking people who may have applied there if they were given any discount.

I’m aware of that as well, infact I have someone who works at the airport. Many of the passenger planes are repatriation flights.

Why don’t you simply apply to those schools ? And you can decide when you get offer letters.

@ LaaJiblik is right. No one got database all of the universities here. It’s totally impossible that you did not find any information about scholarships or discounts on their websites.
Check again properly

I just checked one of the schools you mentioned and I saw their discount and scholarships for international students.

All uk schools have info about their fees and scholarships/discount. Go through their websites.

What if nobody here has applied to any of these schools you mentioned what will be your next move? Abi you wont apply again?

Because some of “them” asked that you check the websites of the universities? C’mon you can do better than that. Like someone asked, if no one has the info, won’t you apply to those universities? Every university has information on fees and discounts/scholarships. It’s simply a matter of checking.

People only want the best for you by asking you to check yourself. The British education system involves quite a bit of independent research and anyone who doesn’t develop such skills will find it difficult to cope.

People here mean well by asking you to do the search yourself and it’s a quick one trust me
