The property was not illegally bulldozed,

The ownership of the land is not in contention.
If the land ownership was in contention or the Nigerian High Commission had been on it for more than 5 years, then they would have needed court permission before they bulldoze it.
if what u meant by contention is land dispute between two owners then I wonder if u read d story at all

Please follow the story well... Initially they said the land belonged to a private individual, now when it snow-balled into an international incident for Ghana they brought a Chief to start telling stories.

This is an act of war.. an invasion of the diplomatic space of another country on any territory which is sovereign territory by UN laws is considered an act of war.

Ghana has been brewing for a confrontation with Nigeria for a while and I know it because they are beginning to eye all the Nigerian investments in Ghana. They want to take over all of our assets in Ghana. Nigerian govt should not let this go if not other smaller countries will follow suit.

Even if the Chief's story were true... Why couldn't he invite his govt to intervene considering that he is dealing with the govt of another nation? And if the Ghanaian govt was invited, why didn't they resolve before now?

I don't how you can't see all the shades of what is wrong with this issue!

And I see a lot of ghanaians support (tacitly or otherwise) this foolishness

No respect for the sanctity of diplomacy

THE GOOD PEOPLE OF NIGERIA EXPECT THIS WARRANT CHIEF TO BE ARRESTED AS PARTY TO THE UNLAWFUL DEMOLITION OF PROPERTY BELONGING TO THE NIGERIAN HIGH COMMISSION IN GHANA.

GHANA IS A COUNTRY OF LAW AND ORDER AS THEY SAY, SO UNLAWFUL DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURES WITHOUT ADHERENCE TO DUE ROCESS OR RULE OF LAW SHOULD ATTRACT PENALTY.

XENOPHOBIA IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO COMMIT CRIME.

U CANNOT TAKE THE LAW INTO YOUR HANDS AND USE THE NATIONALITY OF THE OTHER PARTY AS JUSTIFICATION FOR YOUR CRIME.

IF WE ALLOW THIS, TOMORROW THEY WILL KILL A HUMAN BEING AND SAY IT IS NIGERIAN.

GHANIANS ARE CRIMINALLY MINDED PEOPLE, THEY RENT SHOP AND SELL LAND TO NIGERIANS AND THEN GO BACK TO TAKE IT, SAYING THE PEOPLE ARE NIGERIANS, AFTER COLLECTING MONEY.

THEY WILL NEVER REFUND THE MONEY THEY COLLECTED AND INFACT, YOUR GOODS IN THE SHOP WILL BE LOCKED AND THEY EXPECT U TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY.

THIS IS CRIMINAL BEHAVIOUR.
FG wil do nothing about this.

100% correct ...

why did the so called chief not defer to his govt to handle the matter ...

The said property is 10 minutes walk to the police head quarters and just 2 buildings
From the Canadian high commision and for 1 hour this demolition was happening without police intervention ...nonsense

Nigeria should clearly spell out what the Ghanaian govt should do to broker peace ...it will be left to the govt of Ghana to either act accordingly or ignore ...but let it be on record ..

when we finally have a president we will respond appropriately

It was the Nigerian High commission who claim that their property was demolished by an individual and the media picked it up from there.

The diplomatic space of Nigeria was not invaded.

The Chief has more power than the government when it comes to land.
Why should he seek government help because they have a land issue with another person, when all Authority regarding lands is in their hand?

The Nigerian High Commission was invited by an entire Paramoncy with the same status as the embassy and they decided not to show up on several occasions despite the fact that it was explained that they were committing an illegality by encroaching on the land.

If you know how lands are administered in Ghana, you will know that no wrong has been committed yet aside from the encroachment.

Are u waiting for it to spelt out before u know the said land is under dispute... The community is claiming ownership and d one building on it is claiming ownership that is why he is building on it. Why would someone build on a land that does not belong to him?

Even the America embassy will not dare to encroach on lands that does not belong to them.

Which other Embassy in Ghana have you ever heard to have encroached on lands.

You can check on how the American Embassy acquired new lands in Accra, The first consulted the Ghanaian Government of their intention before they went to the Chiefs to negotiate the acquisition.
