Please anyone who has information on how to bring this to the notice of human right office in Onitsha.

This young girl, Chioma Ogbu was found on the street at Onitsha (3-3 area), fetching water at night with bruises and a swollen face. The neighbours became curious and to satisfy their curiosity, they called her to know what happened to her. The poor girl could not talk because she had lost her voice from crying. The neighbours were left with no choice but to report the matter to nearby 3-3 police station.

Her uncle, Mr. Hillary Apeh from Enugu Ezike who she stays with was summoned to know exactly what she did that led to the beating. He told the police that he came back from market and there was no water at home for him to bathe.

This man's first daughter is older than this innocent girl, yet he could not demonstrate his anger on his own daughter for not fetching water.

His wife was also invited and questioned. The girl narrated to the police how her uncle has been maltreating her. She stays at home while her uncle's children go to school. She sleeps in the kitchen while her uncle's children sleep on the bed. His wife Nkiru who she calls Aunty starves her over a minor provocation, atimes going a whole day, hungry. The girl disclosed that she never wanted to be a house help but her uncle promised her poor mother who is his sister that he will send her to school, a promise he never fulfilled.

The man in question is still in police custody. These pictures were taken around 9:pm the exact time her uncle sent her out alone, in search of water.

If the police is already handling the case and the man in question is in police custody, why are you still bringing it online looking for "human rights"? Why not allow the police to finish their job first then if you're not satisfied you can then go ahead with your search for "justice"?

Oga this matter would be handled best by the NAPTIP/human rights not police....police can only collect money and set him free to continue from where he stopped, therefore if you know any just recommend
