Idiot Makinde, Oyo State is having a huge surge with hundred new cases daily but this same idiot that held PDP Mega Rally during Covid 19 also wants to open schools, since he has finished the 2billion covid 19 funds he needs new money to pay off election expenses

His own wife and kids are already in America with best of hospitals

.

But we know that u are only expressing your selfish interest to see that the pandemic lasts, maybe that u keep making money from it.

U scored 0% folk

I never knew a day like this will come when people will be so scared of ordinary malaria and catarrh like this.

This will show you how powerful the media is and how they can comfortably turn ordinary malaria, cough and catarrh into the most dangerous contagious disease the world has ever seen.

Unfortunately for them all, you cannot continue to deceive ALL the people ALL the time!

Dooms nkor, drums ni. Don't be a prophet of dooms.
Be reminded or be informed if you don't know sir that there was no time lockdown was experienced in Oyo State as well as in Ibadan.
What you saw in Ibadan, do you want to hear Sir, that was how people have been going about there businesses since the beginning of the year.

How are those parents been selfish?

Speaking about students immunity to the virus been high okay what about their parents (with weak immune system) who they will return to after school?
Majority of those parents you talking about go out everyday to their places of work and some don't even make use of facemask. Even when they finally got home they don't even bother washing their hands or spreading the cloths on them outside till the next day. Even when govt ordered the transport men on the number of passengers to carry, these same parents defy the order

It can never work bro... Even those living in high brow areas are complaining, what then should we say of people living in Ketu, Oworo, Mafoluku, Ajangbadi etc, where will they get money to buy Data??

Some people will just come on social media and say thrash without having a wider view of perspective??

Abeg wetin person wey dey live for inside one village in katsina or inside on village in ohafia, know about online teaching??

Schools should reopen with safety precautions

We just like doing same shit in Nigeria without results.... I expect the NCDC to release the percentage of persons within 5-18yrs affected by this virus... The recovery chances and rates.. Then necessary procedures should be put in place... If parents goes out to market and shop/work daily and aren't infecting their children
And this same children are playing with other children in the neighborhood all day while some attend lessons and still not infected... What's the point in locking schools.... Life needs to continue

I can't say for markets but for the church i do attend and other churches and mosques i have noticed compliance with the social distancing order but for schools you and i know that the social distancing rule can't work in schools

Social distancing can work in sch

It’s just simple... same way it worked in churches

Proper spacing in lecture halls (maybe 100-200level can still stay back cause they probably still do general courses)

Decontamination of schools every weekend ...

Use of face mask by students

Lectures keeping to there timing and not giving lectures under hot weather condition ...

Beside most schools where at the verge of writing the semester exams before the lockdown... and we all know that there is always enough halls for exams cheesy

Lastly mandatory pocket sanitizers for returning students

Part of all these Corona virus COVID19 hullabaloo is just to get Mr. Trump out of office.

So expect CNN and co in conjunction with the WHO to continue spinning more and more yarns & telling ludicrous lies and scaring the people just to make them to continue blaming Mr Trump for the Wuhan virus and as such, subsequently vote him out in November!

Nigeria’s problems are not the illiterates; they are the half educated! People who actually went to school and graduated but never seem to apply the knowledge!

1. School resumes for what reason in this global pandemic? WAEC is West African based so we can’t write SSCE even if school resumes; Economic reasons? When inter state travels are relatively still locked; JSS3 Exams? How many of you collected yours to further your education

2. If coronavirus is false; let them resume schools and see the outcome; Israel had to shutdown schools back; so let’s learn from Oyo

3. School and education; very important but after this lockdown, economic reforms should be top priority not opening schools

Oga, the purpose of school is to learn not to write exam.

Btw the students immunity to the virus is very high !!!

Until children go home to infect parents who may die and children become orphaned and their education stops...

I don't blame the people or even the Governor, Nigerian system is dysfunctional, underfunded and prone to misfiring. Even with the best of intentions, things that work elsewhere tend to fall in Naija.

opening of churches, mosques and markets are to be considered right
When our market places are overcrowded despite the increase of Covid19 cases...
please open schools joor....
Nonsense.

Churches - Yes, with strict social distancing and sanity.

Mosques - Yes, with strict social distancing and sanity.

Markets - No, unless they can reorganize the markets to maintain social distancing and sanity.

Schools - Never, until corona is defeated.

Majority of school people from primary school, secondary school and to higher institutions ( No less than 70 percent) go to school and from school by public transportation.
The little kids become endangered species.

No No No to redemption of schools.

I don't understand were you expecting everyone to just sit at home for months without going out to put food on their table?
Remember Israel and South Korea shut down schools after there were reports of infections among students.

Health experts do have reasons why schools should remain shut but for me opening up schools would be catastrophic for Nigeria

All the classes must one day resume their section, we can't continue like this, why the rushing why not exercise patient and let us watch how things unfold, covid-19 is real, there are some gatherings that can be avoided, school is one of them, higher institution students sat at home for over a year when ASUU was hot, for me the guy like dragging unnecessary attention, no be only him like schools, asking the final year students to go back to school, will that permits them to write waec or what?

A lot of first commenters are very intelligent people unlike some other threads.

Oyo government is not risking the lives of children as many people say. He is being realistic here where other governors hiding their heads in the sand. Come to think about it. The children are the least vulnerable to Covid-19 anywhere in the world. Those are waiting for children to die in hundreds in Oyo State will be disappointed.

These same children are playing ball all over the place; some are hawking, selling in markets, etc. They have not been dropping dead with all those exposures. It is now schools will start killing them!Lol!

Schools have been asked to raise their disease prevention protocol. Students must wear masks, wash their hands, maintain social distance, etc. In Bodija market, none of those protocols are followed and thankfully, Covid-19 has not killed many of our people.

Makinde may go down as a leader who saw ahead of others, including the baba in aso rock.
He says Covid-199 will be hear a long time. Cases will keep rising till 2022. Will we keep our schools shut till then?

Finally, someone said let's shutdown till vaccine comes. Do you have an idea of the cost of the vaccine? Is it this govt that cannot give 10k palliative to it's citizens that will procure vaccines for 200m people? Answer me!
You're intelligent man.. Good analysis.. Nothing to add

You are a dreamer.

A lot of children go to school in keke and public transportation.

You think that it is every child that is conveyed to school in an air conditioned SUV?

With the benefit of hindsight Gov Makinde would appear reckless. The buck actually stops at the table of The President who should have sought from NASS Emergency Powers and lockdown the entire nation and ramp up testing to be followed up by isolation.
