…reveals why she drank sniper

A woman who lives in Abule-Egba area of Lagos known as Mrs Bukola Agboola on Thursday was rescued by neighbours after attempting suicide.

The mother of two was said to have attempted suicide on Thursday night, in her residence at No. 2 Kuburat Lawal Street, Abule-Egba in Agbado Oke Odo Local Council Development Area of Lagos.

Bukola reportedly drank sniper on the basis of being frustrated by the complexities of life coupled with lack of basic care.

She was however rushed to Ile Epo General Hospital by her husband’s brother who was living nearby.

Speaking on the hospital bed, Bukola, revealed that she was tired about life and maltreatment by her husband, Mr Wasiu Agboola, who she said, used to beat and inflict her with pain.

She also claimed that her husband forced her on Thursday night to break into her improvised save to buy foodstuffs for her children who barely ate any food days back.

According to her, “Receiving all forms of maltreatment from my husband, who often beats me up any time of the day got to me and I decided to rent an apartment just to safe myself from untimely death.

“Having reported to his father who did not subscribe to his attitude he advised me not to leave my children with him so as to suffer as no adequate care will be given to them.

“I managed to raise some fund through the sale of bottled engine oil, but when my husband left no money for us to feed, I had to break my save to buy them some foodstuffs.

“I decided to commit suicide when I gave it a thought that I cannot go any further in that kind of situation so I drank sniper out of frustration.
“I am tired of the relationship and have reported the issue to the person who is left as my mother since my biological parents died.

“Unfortunately, she is visually impaired and could not prevail on my husband. I am in a tight corner and just need a break”, she lamented.

Iya Idris as she is fondly called by her neighbours was said to have suffered so much in the relationship.

Her neighbours who pleaded anonymity, confirm that her’s was an unending case of wife battering.

According to the neighbours, the husband, Agboola, often resorts to beating her up anytime they had disagreement especially when he is demanding for sex from a woman who barely had anything to eat, most times she gets thrown out on the street in the cold by her husband.

[color=green]Wasiu an Okada Rider around Abule Egba axis, most times reportedly desert his home for days leaving the family with nothing to eat.

The neighbours noted further that whoever intervened to give succour to the family gets a fight from him.

They further pleaded with government agencies in charge and human rights group to come to the rescue of Mrs Agboola and her children.

Bukola was discharged from the hospital and referred to Psychiatric hospital Yaba, for counselling so as to forestall a repeat of the suicide attempt and was taken to her home with no adherence to medical referral.

Yoruba and Igbo people are what is wrong with Nigeria argue with your keyboards.
They find ways to tribalise everything

Edit: I am happy that some Igbos and Yorubas are admiting it THAT IS A STEP FORWARD I appreciate you guys for admiting it. You people will go far in life.

for those who still refuse to admit it imagine if all 248 other ethnic groups in Nigeria decided to go at each others throat the same exact way Igbos and Yorubas go at each other EVERY SINGLE DAY on NAIRALAND just imagine.

Imagine you are an Hausa, fulani, Ibibio etc would you rather have a president who is Yoruba or Igbo or someone who is Jukum, Ijaw or just any other group that is not Yoruba or Igbo. Ask your non Yoruba & Igbo friends to find out or make a poll online but I'm sure the Igbos and Yorubas would rig the online poll lol

Don't let your ego be so fragile, that you react easily, Yes you owe me nothing but we are neighbors your right stops where mine begins, nobody likes noisy, show off neighbors. that was why Goodluck Jonathan from a state with only 8 local governments became president and not any of the Igbos who people thought would be president and now it is why Tinubu will not become president nobody likes noisy show offs. Especially if those people are "champions of their tribes" like Nnamdi Kanu, Ojukwu, Tinubu, Ishaq Akintola etc people from other tribes will ALWAYS go for whom they perceive is the lesser of 2 evils, the least radical. That is why Igbos would support Atiku over Buhari if not because of Jagabans change of mind Buhari would not have won.

In all Remember Nigeria has 250 ethnic groups not 2 or 4 dont be decieved Ijaw has 6 states Igbo has 5, the way you have millions of people Tiv, Jukun, Ijaw, all have millions of people, Yoruba alone or Igbo alone can not rule Nigeria, you need to work with other ethnic groups so learn to be accomodating, clip your tongues.

If you continue seeing everybody else as OTHER instead of Nigerians, I can assure you you will keep losing and Nigeria as a whole will suffer for it, the Hausas you people think are one are merely accomodating each other there is tension between them Hausas see fulani's as Bush people, mamfa have their issues if you are smart strategists you will go round and find allies but instead you stay in your houses hurling abuses at EVERY SINGLE tribe/person that is not yours.

Hausa-fulani have been successful because they made Ninzom tribe feel like they are Hausas they made Ngweshe people feel welcome make Nupe people feel at home so these ethnic groups do not feel threatened when an Hausa rules them the same cannot be said of the Ibibio people living next to the Igbos or the Ijaws living next to the Yorubas

Let me stop here enough knowledge for today

The fact that you people are saying I am Afonjaa shows just how bad things are. I am not Yoruba neither am I Igbo or Hausa I'm just telling you people the truth. Take it or leave it, the truth is the truth. Travel and learn.

cool

Parents should learn to empower their girl child. It is not enough to raise them to be useful wives.

Empower them financially. Teach her how to make honest money to earn good living before she gets married.

It will help her all her life.

bad .the country is jut too hard and i pity her, things are dry and the environment aint friendly especially for the females and that's why so many have switched to runs instead of working or learning handwork because they believe the runs is that easy and the hard work would give them with little cash to meet thier increasing demands..
just dont like seeing the increase of suicide cases this days doing this current regime and i must say she took the wrong way of approaching life and even as she survive this, i pray she doesn't attemp it again because depression is real..
words on street- no pain no gain but if you feel the pain without gain, watin you gain??

I guess it won’t be out of place if the Men within that area had teamed up to brainstorming ideas husband.
I know it’s morally wrong to interfere in people’s marriage, but posterity will judge right if marriage are infiltrated violently by outsiders , just to save a soul.

I so pity the woman, but unfortunately she is handicapped because even those who could have openly defended here are going Anonymous.

I hope this is not the husband

This is so sad... sad

back to the topic, why is it that poor men changes to beast when their wives do not give consent to sex most times? I keep wondering.....You hardly hear of people who sets their minds on inventions or building good legacies etc, tottering their waists for 30 minutes pleasure they keep fantasizing all their lives.
Obviously, Poverty and sex seems to go together and the result is what we are experiencing in this part of the world. sad cool

Suicide is never an option, though same people might be directly supporting those that have intentionally put them in the situation.

Some Nairaland posters need vetting before posting stuff coz some English and sentence construction can distort one's eyes and cause headache.

Won't be surprised if some of these posters are graduates. undecided
