just the way women might prefer taller men to shorter men...do we have a name for that colorism is basically steorotype based on darkness of skin tone...feeling people who are light skinned are more intelligent or more attractive,as such using it as a criteria to give them movie roles,and modelling gigs over darker people,this one is institutional...but in a situation where you just "Prefer" light skin over dark skin...it's not colorism...ok is it colorism if a woman prefer dark skin to light skin...I've heard some girls say they don't like dating fair people,some girls prefer chubby men...it's preference..and there's such a thing with skin tone too

Personally i don't have a preference, i like attractive women and that is that, My attraction to a woman will never be based on the colour of skin, In my own opinion people who claim to have a particular preference or "spec" especially based on skin colour are just entitled little pricks lol but thats just my own opinion I'm not tryna offend anyone. If your prefer light or dark skinned you do you it's nobody's business but again in MY OWN OPINION anyone that has a preference for a particular skin tone is a colourist and its a big problem with black folks all over the world. Lol bro i have seen this before i have done my own research and that is why i said in MY OWN OPINION so stop doing like you're the only one that knows how to use google. Now read the first paragraph in this screenshot. In some parts of Africa, women with lighter skin are thought to be more beautiful and likely to find more success than women with darker skin tones. Hence the idea of preference comes in because people who say that the have a preference for ligher skin women prefer lighter skin because they believe that being light, white or bright is the standard of beauty, isn't that Prejudice?? I will say it again its my own opinion don't come here with screenshots telling me to educate myself lol believe what you want and i will do the same my gee. This issue of preference for a particular skin tone(usually lighter) is the reason why the bleaching industry is big in Nigeria and why many people suffer from inferiority complex because of the colour of their skin, that's why you see so many women bleaching thier skin
