Please can we unite to do this together.

If one person tweets at least 5 times in a day, we will do a lot and I believe it will get the attention needed.

Thanks

Guys take things easy.

They have their plans and you can't change that. Just don't cause problems for subsequent set of people.

The situation we are in now is not fault of anyone. So many things have been destabilized already.

Embassy will resume when they feel is right.
The fact that they resume in other African countries does not mean they must resume in Nigeria and the remaining countries at the same time.

After all, Nigeria embassy in Berlin did not resume after all other countries have resumed and normalcy returned.

Inagine if they have given some people Visa since February /March and they can't travel till now, we will still be saying they should extend it or reissue if/when expired.

Also, they are very sure of what those African countries are doing and how soon they can resume international flight. But in Nigeria, is that the case? We can only deceive "ourselves ", which is a big disease. No one knows the trend or when situation will return to normal. PTF is saying there could be another lock down again.

They are not even sure of the number of infections here. Look the the number of test per million in all countries you are comparing.
We are not even consistent yet.

Germany is not the problem. Even people with visa/permit can not travel, why should they keep issuing new ones?

Just calm down, I believe the situation will return to "normal" very soon

Don't creat an unnecessary scene.

Do you even know you fate after spending alot on admission processes and even tuition fee.

Am not sure you are even reading news of the travel ban a bit.

Let me make sometin clear to you, its not the day you do interview dey give visa and its not the dat they give visa dey travel.

If you can't support the movement sit down,

We are not abusing them on the tweet we posting rather we are begging them to at least allow us to come for our interview so we can know that's off the road.

It's very necessary and long overdue. There were barely appointment dates last summer, that was even before covid!

we can't just sit, do nothing & continue to hope.

Tagging and tweeting them relentlessly shows desperation. We're all anxious to get AD, but if they choose not to open their embassy in Nigeria, nothing can change it. Visa application to Germany or any other foreign country is not a right, it's a privilege. Let's not overdo.

Don't get discouraged.
Some of us here are silently supporting the efforts you're putting in to make #NIGStudentsNeedGERVisa trend on Twitter.
Keep it up.

I like the part where you wrote that its not the day an applicant is interviewed at the embassy that their visa will be issued.
This is a fact that those "international Airport should be opened before we take any action" crew don't understand.
Germany visa takes time to process. One has to wait for AD for weeks or months. Then after AD, one waits for AM for more weeks or even months again.
If the German embassy is protecting its citizens from the covid 19 pandemic in Nigeria, and not using it as an excuse to discriminate against Nigerian student visa applicants, they can issue an additional requirement for visa applicants from Nigeria to submit a covid19 test result not older than 14 days on the day of their visa interview.

But please my people, we are not protesting on Twitter oo. Don't go and be shouting "#NIGStudentsNeedGERVisa Aluta continua, Victoria ascerta" on the German embassy Twitter handle.

Keep your tweets respectful and concise. The goal is to "lobby" them with our numbers, and make them empathize with the plight of German student visa applicants in Nigeria.

This is dicey. My opinion is we should not blame the embassy, neither should we blame those going on Twitter.

Why we should not blame the embassy: put into consideration that the EU/Germany made their decision far before this month. And if we look farther, we would see that there was restriction on movement in Nigeria (interstate). If the embassy were to be opened for CAT B interviews far before now, how will those living outside Lagos and Abuja get to embassy for their interviews. Moreover, there was restriction on local flight, until yesterday. So, since the government has relaxed local flight restriction, it makes sense to believe the person that said they may open for CAT B interview on Monday.

Why we should not blame those that went on Twitter: All around the world, peaceful protest is the order of the day, just like the ongoing BLM. Let us see theirs as virtual protest due to the on-going coronavirus. I am not against what they are doing so far it is guided and has a solid goal.

This call for my question: what is the goal.

Is it for the embassy to start sending emails for appointment dates? If that it the case, it was impossible until 8th of July as we had flight restriction locally, don't forget FGN relaxed interstate travels July 1st and German government were not in the know until when FGN announced; they can't wait for our government before they will make theirs, Ghana relaxed theirs (local flight) far before July; hence why Germany inculcated Ghana's when making their decision in June. So in nutshell, they can interview Ghanians even if they are yet to relax international flight ban coz their was no restriction locally. For ours, that was what they thought coz no one knows our govt would relax July 1st, which was same day when embassy of countries under EU were directed to resume; but for Nigerians, if they had decided to call us for interview when we had interstate restriction, how will the person in borno get to Abuja or Lagos; and even if Germany had given the order to call for interviews the next day after FGN announcement of interstate movement, don't forget we had local flight restriction (not everybody can travel that long distance by road due to one or 2 things)

The second goal: Is it for us to be able to choose our appointment dates like our counterparts in other countries? If this is the case, it is arguable but not 100%. Our government is not helping, our international profile is not assisting, some of the Nigerians in diaspora are making matter worst and tarnishing the image of the country, just like our so called politician.

It is arguable because they can still do something about it rather than making us look less human (if you see it that way; believe me, no one can treat Americans like this); but think about it, if our economy is on point (like China) or thriving to be there (like Rwanda), German govt and EU won't have option but call our government to the table, and address her citizens like Kings and queens.

Free education with German tax payers money extended to foreigners is a privilege; and for those with the school of thought that the 10,236 euros (payment into blocked account) is an investment in German economy are also damn right.

However, to guys on Twitter, nice work but be guided. Remember there is a thin line between how fine what you are doing is and how bad it can be. If it is bad, is going to affect not just us but generations to come; and if it is a good job, is going to also have effect on generations to come.

I believe with no expectation from a seer that they will start calling for interviews next week since our govt already relaxed the local flight restriction yesterday (8th of July, 2020).

For your first question, the language proficiency requirement depends on the school and not DAAD. I submitted an English proficiency statement from my school and it was accepted.
Secondly, your NYSC working experience will be counted as part of the 2years work experience but preferably a professional working experience that is related to the program/course you are applying to.

Please How compulsory is the criteria for 2 years of work experience. I have just over 1 year of post BSc, though I have several years experience before my Bsc.
2. Some universities require that you send paper documents certified by German embassy. How do I go about it?
Thank you

Yes, I have my transcript

Almost all schools have the caveat stating "you can send in your bachelor certificate later, so far you have your transcript".

However, if you don't like what you see on daad, you need to surf more. The next advise I can give is to search via uni-assist. Type Uni-assist list of universities on Google, it will take you to the list, then you can search for your preferred course.

But my token, you can also go for related courses; so once you get several admission letters, then you can pick your most preferred course or school.

Why going for related courses, it doesn't mean you don't know what you want but sometimes, your most preferred course won't be offered by your most preferred school or those with same caliber, it may be a lower school in caliber that would be offering such course; while sometimes, your preferred schools will offer it but language barrier sets in (except in a case where you understands German to C2, then you know you have no limit whatsoever).

THE BELOW IS FOR THOSE THAT WANT TO KNOW SCHOOLS OR COURSES NOT USING USI-ASSIST FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS.

The best way to find out is via uni-assist.

For those using Computer: You can type Uni-assist list of universities on Google, click on the first link, it will take you to the list of universities OR you can go to www.uni-assist.de/login, click on "my assist" at the top right corner of the page, it will bring out the list of universities.

Then, at the left side of the page, you will see the filter, click on advance filter, then go to the last of the options (uni-assist responsible), then click on "no". This will populate the schools and courses not handled by uni-assist.

For those using phones (most of us are): You can type Uni-assist list of universities on Google, click on the first link, it will take you to the list of universities OR you can go to www.uni-assist.de/login, then follow the description on the screenshots below (click on the circle part on the screenshot).

Then at the top of the page, you will see

For those that love shortcuts and wouldn't want to know how to get there, just visit https://my.uni-assist.de click on advance filter at the top corner of the page if you're using mobile phone, then go to the last of the options (uni-assist responsible), then click on "no". This will populate the schools and courses not handled by uni-assist.

I hope the help somborri.

Apologies for not telling you guys since, I don't just want to counter those saying daad.de is the best, in order not to confuse some people. It is the best though but both get one feature that the other no get; sincerely, daad is the best, e no just get filter for this feature of knowing those that uses online portal and uni-assist (NB: FILTER, not that it doesn't show if school uses uni-assist or not).
