The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted tourism negatively. However, as the saying goes, "this too shall pass away". Listed below are some interesting tourist destinations in Nigeria...

1. OBUDU MOUNTAIN RESORT
Location: Cross River State.
Founded: 1951
Travel time: Approx 5 hours (Calabar to Obudu).
Environment: Tropical rain forest.
Activities: Swimming, hiking, golf, gym, horse-riding, bonfires, cable cars, canopy walkway.
Room rates: From N25,000 per night.

2. GASHAKI-GUMPTI NATIONAL PARK
Location: Taraba/Adamawa States, along the Cameroon border.
Founded: 1991
Travel time: Approx 10 hours (Jos to Serti).
Environment: Savannah grassland, rolling hills, gorges, montane forests.
Activities: Chimp-tracking, visit to Fulani villages, hiking, sight-seeing of wild animals (primates, lions, elephants, hippos, buffaloes), visit to Chappal Waddi (Nigeria’s highest mountain).
Room rates: From N1500 a night (but you must bring your own food).

3. OKE-IDANRE HILLS (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Location: Idanre Town, Ondo State.
Founded: Discovered by Rev. Gilbert Carter in 1894, added to UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List 8 Oct 2007.
Travel time: Approx 5 hours (Lagos to Idanre, 293 km via Sagamu-Benin Expressway).
Environment: Forest, Hills and valleys.
Activities: Visits to Owa's Palace, Shrines, Old Court, Belfry, Iraye tree, Orosun Hill, Arun River, Agbooogun footprint, thunder water (Omi Apaara), Aghagha Hill, Orosun Festival, Mare Festival.
Room rates: From N7,750 per night.

4. OGBUNIKE CAVES (UNESCO Heritage Site)
Location: Ogbunike Town, Oyi LGA, Anambra State.
Founded: Discovered approx 4,000 years ago, by Ukwa, a man from Umucheke family of Ifite-Ogbunike. Added to UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List 2007.
Travel time: Approx 7 hours (Lagos to Ogbunike, 468 km via Sagamu-Benin Expressway).
Environment: Tropical rain forest.
Activities: Exploration of caves, Bat colonies, Nwanyi Akpanyi ("Talking Stone" ), River Nkissa, Ime Ogbe Festival, Ada Ogbunike beauty pageant.
Room rates: From N7,000 per night.

Nice but these can't compare with Rwanda, Botswana and all those East African countries with theirs.


OP these are the only ones?? What about that place for Akwa-Ibom wey one guy post some days back?

Let me add to it
Amancho cave, nde offia ịba, Etiti Edda, Afikpo South LGA of Ebonyi

This cave saved many people during the biafra war, many hid and moved through it.. It has an underground tunnel about 6km from owutu Edda Community to nde offia ịba, Etiti Edda Community

Is a good site to behold and go through
