No I will try them. Thank you for testing the waters for me.

I tried two if the recommendations I got yesterday but it was a dead end. Moneymarket and clearscore require a residency status of at least 3 years which isn't possible now.

I honestly don't understand this system of credit in UK. Getting a credit card in Germany is like a stroll in the park

Since claremont mentioned vanquish, I thought apply again to proof the ease........

Here is my result....... That makes it 2 successful applications within 48 hours........

You might need to appease your village people....... grin

NB : No more credit card experiments from me, not unless you promise to pay the resulting bills....... cool

See ehn I have given up because it seems there's something going on. I tried all the leads I got here, non worked. I tried checking my records with equifax, TransUnion, seems they have no data and I don't understand why.

But where I think I often have issues is the address. I stay on-site so technically, the address is a business address. This the only thing I can see as the problem.

Hi everyone.
I need to renew my passport. I've registered, made my application and paid online.
I didn't get any notification on how to book the London appointment for biometrics. And I cant find the info on the website.
I know the High Commission hasn't opened yet, but is there something else I should do?

EmmyKing86:
Hello everyone.
Please, regarding passport renewal at the Nigerian High Commission London, are people who did not apply for passport renewal before lockdown allowed to apply?
According to the information available on the website, renewal has only commenced for those that applied prior to lockdown in order to clear the backlog of applications.
Currently reside in Swansea and would not want to be refused upon arrival.
Kind Regards,

Any helpful info regarding these posts, please?

Hello.

Many thanks for your response, but this is the only information available on the website. Besides, the information is for collections not for biometric capture, also collections for those that intend to apply after lockdown is not given. The phone lines are not working and the email address (passport@nigeriahc.org.uk) does not seem to be working as my message was returned immediately to the sender.

A friend that applied before the lockdown received this text from them this morning.

I have got similar issues with hubby records where he doesnt have a record on experian, credit club etc but he does with equifax. And we can access this via credit karma freely (though sometimes 2mths delay)

I think it is because he had like 2 address history within 3months of getting to UK, doesnt make sense but thats the only difference between both our accounts and I have access to most free credit reports you can think of.

The trick for me is when applying on clearscore, money-saving etc, was to put 3years on my only existing address in the UK and voila I had access to all. The system won't allow you register if you don't click 3 years address and your records are on it.

For CC, do use previous suggestions, if i could add open or use HSBC current account, you see those Halifax and Lloyd's you need like a very good current account with them before you can be approved because they will even ask you questions about your visa and its expiry et al.

I have had an account with Halifax and was rejected until after 1.5 years of operating as my salary account and was offered £3k. Meanwhile HSBC offered more for a new current account i just opened.

Try open a joint account with someone who has a good credit history in a bank where he/she holds a credit card.
Then apply for a credit card from that bank.
