It seems uber is working on their app. I don't seems to see my balance.

I did a complain to them on Twitter and they replied that I can now see rider's location when a request comes in. Like, is it rider's location we need or destination?

I've said it b4, I'm very sure their programmer is been affected by the covid-19 reason for the serious setback they're presently having.

I hope they bounce back stronger.

U cheated yourself in a way, next time if you re doing a return trip, always tell the rider to update as you re getting to a particular stop.

Sometimes Bolts app rolls back especially if the trip is a round trip, only d minutes will be correct.

Two ways to solve dis.

1. Asking rider to always update as trip progresses

2. For such trip when you re about to end it, note dis , wen U slide on end trip as the app is rolling, switch to Airplane mode or off data(anyone), d app will.write no network connection, once U see that switch on again, Ur fare will be calculated to the last KM.

Note i have tried this several times and I don't have issue wit incomplete KM again

That would be a good one.

I guess they are losing drivers due to cancellations.

Uber thinks bringing new drivers would mitigate the effect of the banned drivers, in the long run, yes, but in the short run, they are actually losing revenue.

Cos, it takes sometime for the rookies to come to speed on how to make money.

The best drivers from a revenue perspective ( that earn most) are those that filter/select their trips. You need destination for that. Esp.in a city like Lagos

Seeing destination reduces cancellation rates for both drivers and riders. Riders will only cancel by choice not out of desperation.

It helps the driver/partner plan his/her trip.
You work on the island. You close from work, you live around Ajah/ sangotedo axis.

N uber is bringing trips going to ojodu/berger, abule egba, mainland. embarassed.

This will make d driver cancel, rider is frustrated, driver is unhappy he can't get a trip home.

Eventually driver gets blocked, Uber loses money, the cycle repeats itself.

In Lagos, some areas you don't want to go to, some drivers/partners will like to go there.
So keep the rides open.

Lol, how much were you expecting to see before?
You expect it to be 10k because you made plenty stops?
Waiting doesn't pay, know it now waiting for riders doing shopping is at your own risk.

You dare not allow rider to update trip what so ever, I've experience this more than twice on uber, the moment you update trip especially if the request came in with a surge and it's later updates believe you me such trip will be calculated base on the present update.

My last experience waz about 3weeks ago. I was in Surulere one evening when I got this 3rd party card trip to Unilag area, on our way the girl said she would be going to isolo afterwards. I complained that I needed cash instead and then we agreed to offline.

On getting to Yaba, different request was just balling in and even with surge as high as 3.0. Before her friend joined us in the ride we tried to settled price for the offline trip by checking the estimate which was around N3500-5000. Babe refused to pay 5k, in my thinking make I just run am like that with the card believing the sum up would get to 6k at the end of trip.

I updated the trip from my end and the girl asked her bf to also upsate from his end as well unknowing to me, which ever way I believed the surge in the area as at then would up.

Trip lasted about 2hrs to get to her destination, lo and behold trip ended N3,400 or thereabout.

My brother I almost cry.

Best thing is just leave the app to be running like that with the first request while you input the address on Gmap.

I've also experience a surge trip cancelled out to update of address on the app. I mailles uber but no proof to backup my claim. I just rest.

The horrible stories I have been reading while on incognito mode has been making me laugh so hard.

Many of you are still yet to understand why Lagos state is the only state in the world their welcoming sign board is; "THIS IS LAGOS." Other states I visited are usually "Welcome to Accra, Welcome to Doha, Welcome to Legon, Welcome to Abuja, Welcome To Addis Ababa, Welcome to Onitsha, Welcome To Asaba". But only Lagos is the state I have seen "This is Lagos".

From the moment I stepped foot into Lagos the first time 20 years ago, I have always understood that sign as; "This is Lagos. Shine your eyes"

Aside driving people from point A to B, how do you guys manage to develop an inter-personal relationship with total strangers suddenly?

Only on this thread have I read stories of drivers following riders home to sleep in their houses due to offline contracts. For how much kwanu?

I also saw one that said that the rider was "so good" that he had to tell her not to pay? All the way from Command Ipaja to Sangatedo?" undecided undecided undecided Can you imagine? grin grin grin All these Lekki girls with juju buried deep in their epidermis... I hail una jazz man cheesy cheesy cheesy

The Twitter guy scam is similar to what nearly played out on our own luxurydriver here. He met one who might have promised him mansions in the sky grin grin grin. But it ended in premium tears.

It was on same Twitter that I read where one driver narrated how he was so hungry on a particular day that his rider took him home and offered him Okro Soup and Semovita. Can you imagine? Una get mind for this world oo. This one will just be licking away his destiny without knowing.

Scroll up a little and see one already telling humongous stories of how his current client "is shedding tears of joy" after listening to old blues. Oga DJ jimmy jatt abi neptune, I hail oo. You even had the morale to be licking Yoghurt the so called woman that looked Frenchie offered you? You are licking Frenchie Yoghurt just laidat?... Chai grin grin grin

@ Felicity...

You know when I first joined this hustle, I was made to believe Uber was d bomb..

So when I was trying to onboard.,Uber took me almost lyk a week.

Bolt in two days, I was done. But I insisted on trying Uber first.

Was driving on uber, was making some little scores @ first ,I reasoned maybe cos I was a newbie, so that's y I wasn't making much.

Was just using bolt sparingly. Around January, Uber blocked me, cos of cancellation @ 14%.

Told me to do one online course. Did it. I was brought back. But during that tym, I had no option than to use Bolt.

My broda, On bolt, I saw I could see destination coupled with the fact I cud also refuse trips wtout getting d Hammer

I also discovered that on mainland, bolt rides r more frequent. Coupled wt d fact DT bolt bills better.

N destination trips was always on point.

I HV not gone back since January, my rating on Uber was 4.83 as @ then.

My point is Uber lost revenue to another competitor cos of something flimsy as cancellations n not ratings or driver misconduct. ..... Cos of cancellation!

My case is not isolated, there are hundreds of drivers they yanked off solely cos of cancellations not even low ratings or driver misconduct.

Check that impact on their revenue.
