You dare not allow rider to update trip what so ever, I've experience this more than twice on uber, the moment you update trip especially if the request came in with a surge and it's later updates believe you me such trip will be calculated base on the present update.

My last experience waz about 3weeks ago. I was in Surulere one evening when I got this 3rd party card trip to Unilag area, on our way the girl said she would be going to isolo afterwards. I complained that I needed cash instead and then we agreed to offline.

1stly I was addressing BOLt app... Diff strokes.for different app

And for ur analogy You got a trip in Surulere without surge, U updated in a surge area and U re expecting to have d trip updated wit d surge area... Kolewek naa

For Uber once am on round trip, I update from.my own end and even after d KM and Time I also calculate manually to be sure we re on dsame page

On getting to Yaba, different request was just balling in and even with surge as high as 3.0. Before her friend joined us in the ride we tried to settled price for the offline trip by checking the estimate which was around N3500-5000. Babe refused to pay 5k, in my thinking make I just run am like that with the card believing the sum up would get to 6k at the end of trip.

I updated the trip from my end and the girl asked her bf to also upsate from his end as well unknowing to me, which ever way I believed the surge in the area as at then would up.

Trip lasted about 2hrs to get to her destination, lo and behold trip ended N3,400 or thereabout.

My brother I almost cry.

Best thing is just leave the app to be running like that with the first request while you input the address on Gmap.

I've also experience a surge trip cancelled out to update of address on the app. I mailles uber but no proof to backup my claim. I just rest.

Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by davit: 11:10am On Jul 15, 2020
Are you sure rider's destination now shows on Uber?
Didnt see anything like that yesterday when I updated their app.
northbird:

That would be a good one.

I guess they are losing drivers due to cancellations.

Uber thinks bringing new drivers would mitigate the effect of the banned drivers, in the long run, yes, but in the short run, they are actually losing revenue.

Cos, it takes sometime for the rookies to come to speed on how to make money.

The best drivers from a revenue perspective ( that earn most) are those that filter/select their trips. You need destination for that. Esp.in a city like Lagos

Seeing destination reduces cancellation rates for both drivers and riders. Riders will only cancel by choice not out of desperation.

It helps the driver/partner plan his/her trip.
You work on the island. You close from work, you live around Ajah/ sangotedo axis.

N uber is bringing trips going to ojodu/berger, abule egba, mainland. embarassed.

This will make d driver cancel, rider is frustrated, driver is unhappy he can't get a trip home.

Eventually driver gets blocked, Uber loses money, the cycle repeats itself.

In Lagos, some areas you don't want to go to, some drivers/partners will like to go there.
So keep the rides open.

I hail you all, pls we all should be careful on the personality we pick on offline rides.
Picked some guys on uber trip at Ikeja Shopping Mall yesterday. Close to destination on Ipaja road at that command-Ayobo junction, some policemen stopped me and asked me to park. Started searching everywhere.
ME : Oga, you didnt even request for particulars/license
POLICE: No we dont have issue with you but your riders. We received a tip earlier bla bla bla.
I now realized i have a yahoo boy, his brother and two girls as my riders. I was made to turn back even follow a one way to reach their station.
Trip ended at 2400 but guy couldn't pay as all their phones had been seized. Though he promised to get back later after settlement with polce but he hasn't yet. I want to give him a little more time.
Gentlemen be cautious always!!!!

You should have insisted to be paid before leaving the station. Even the police men would ask you if they had paid you before taking them away.
