... anything can happen

If not the listings of MTNN, BUA and Airtel, the ASI would have been lower than it is right now.

Blessed quietness.

There is bewilderment as the global exchanges rages with bull, NSE is trading sideways. Not falling and not going up.

All that needs to be done is just look (like Lookman) and see the direction the market takes.

It has thrown confusion to chart lookers. grin grin

If market remains irrational like this, then smart investors will activate the dividend waiting mode and observe when the market finishes playing its games.

....but I think market will still respond, even if it's for short period.
If GTB and Zenith could deliver and pay good interim dividends, market might generally respond positively.
It's just my opinion.

Interim dividends won't change anything, I'm afraid. It all boils down to the uncertainty regarding the current FX regime and general macroeconomic factors. Foreign Investors who drive activity in the capital markets are wary of Buhari and Godwin Emefiele's Nigeria at the moment.

You're right but might not be the only reason.
You know what I used to consider is the volume too.......when investors are bidding but don't just want to bid high. This could also mean another thing with a reason different from the stated one.
One thing is that, there has been activities especially in banking stocks, some make use of the low-price opportunities to enter the market too.
Let's wait and see anyway.

Don't mind them Sis, they are longing for bullish market but they bid lower every time, how can price go up if everyone is bidding lower and hunting for bargains?

Where is that my other Sis, Mspwety1, FCMB has finally yielded and my selling it at 1.89 has been justified. Hitting two birds with one stone... grin cheesy

'Bewilderment' ke. We all know it is artificial nau. When they are done with their abracadabra then comes the fall. grin

See as culled from the Vanguard below.
A California man was arrested and ordered held without bond on Thursday for fraudulently obtaining some $9 million in coronavirus relief funds and using some of the money to gamble in Las Vegas.
Andrew Marnell, 40, a resident of the Beverly Grove neighborhood of Los Angeles, California allegedly submitted a number of fraudulent loan applications in relation to the coronavirus pandemic and obtained millions in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funds.
Prosecutors say he used some of the money to make risky stock market bets, and squandered hundreds of thousands of dollars at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino and other gambling establishments in Las Vegas as recently as last weekend.
The PPP loans were part of the unprecedented $2.2 trillion CARES Act, which provided aid for millions of Americans suffering the economic effects of the pandemic.
