I have got similar issues with hubby records where he doesnt have a record on experian, credit club etc but he does with equifax. And we can access this via credit karma freely (though sometimes 2mths delay)

I think it is because he had like 2 address history within 3months of getting to UK, doesnt make sense but thats the only difference between both our accounts and I have access to most free credit reports you can think of.

The trick for me is when applying on clearscore, money-saving etc, was to put 3years on my only existing address in the UK and voila I had access to all. The system won't allow you register if you don't click 3 years address and your records are on it.

For CC, do use previous suggestions, if i could add open or use HSBC current account, you see those Halifax and Lloyd's you need like a very good current account with them before you can be approved because they will even ask you questions about your visa and its expiry et al.

I have had an account with Halifax and was rejected until after 1.5 years of operating as my salary account and was offered £3k. Meanwhile HSBC offered more for a new current account i just opened.

But each time I try applying for even their basic cc, they keep rejecting it through their online platform and they have decided not to open one for me when I walk into a branch. They keep telling me am qualified but when I do it at home, the story is the same and they say "wait for 3 months".

Ohh I see, maybe you should give it a break of like 1 year.. if you can gain access to your experian and see a fair score rating, you can try capital one CC, at least if they approve £200 for a start. Manage that Judiciously for 1 year before applying for any other.

They will soon start rushing you

This was my experience with paypal credit. i always paid off the balance in full within the 3 months 0% interest charge period. Guess what? They sent me a letter where they halved my credit limit from £5000 to £2500 awon werey

For someone coming to the UK for a new job and with a tight budget, what would be the best type of accommodation to sort for until the pounds start coming in? State is Essex.
Do banks give loans or credit to people who may need them at the start? What bank is beneficial to new comers in terms of starting up? The prices of accommodation on Airbnb is just too high. Are there any possible cheaper options of accommodation till salary starts coming assuming one is not coming with family?

No loan or credit for new comers....so you have to come financially prepared.

Bought 3flights ticket to 9ja,flight cancelled Christmas eve. Requested refunds from the Airline, no positive outcome. Lodge the complain to Civil Aviation Authority, & Local MP, they tried their best for 3months but Medview Airline showed their 9ja muscle by not even replying to any of the mails. Let's stay safe.

You can chase & collect this debt, but unfortunately would be good money chasing bad...........

The airline is not even operating again in UK. I guess they are above the law because if not, any flight delayed or cancelled you may be entitled to compensation Under EU �� law.

The company dont even answer.... a friend used them and the flight was delayed by 2 days. Under EU regulations they are suppose to pay the passengers 600 euros. But.for where.... the lawyer wrote and wrote to the airline but no response

BA didnt fly from US to london as the flight was delayed by one day. I just went online , completed something and within a week I received the compensation. Wasnt even a long story thing . They paid me despite fully lodging me during the flight delay

EU Regulations apply if the origin/ home country of the flight is in Europe I believe .

HSBC is a very newly arrived expatriate oriented bank. They can also offer you a credit card straight off. I would suggest asking your employer for an advance on your salary instead. such advances are interest free .

Really.... credit card with no UK history ?

Yes I was offered one when I opened a current account with HSBC with a credit limit of £2k5. The current account also came with an OD of £3k. I was barely 2wks in UK when the account was opened.
