Students should be exempted and would probably be part of the "essentials".

I want to be optimistic but at this point, it is very hard to be.

Which airlines will reopen just for students? Can students fill up planes? Will it be profitable for airlines to fly half empty airplanes.

The Nigerian government never thinks things through. This is what we get when incompetent people lead.

When we brought an idea of us trying to show our grief they said no.

Doing nothing now, you see the result.

Let me just stay calm and continue to look. Hehehe

At this point, we need a broad and concise breakdown of what they understand the "essentials" to be cos according to the EU directives students fall into that category. They should be able to communicate to the foreign embassies on how feasible and realistic the date is for them to be able to open up visa applications for this categories of "essentials" and "diplomats". They just need to do this as to not put to jeopardy every one's effort on this winter application.

Don't be so sure, in this country I don't think students are part of the essentials, who would even open airlines just for students that's if we are part of it... This is a terrible news considering that the embassy said appointments wouldn't be given until international flights opens.
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Stiflersammy(m): 2:59pm On Jul 21, 2020
Am not sure the issue should be the fact that fg have not allow airline to operate. At least last week some people did interview regardless.

Don't bother yourself, in Nigeria tie essentials are diplomats and looters travelling abroad

Do you know how many embassies has not opened because of this "international flight resumption" . Even the German embassy are using that not to even given as little as date for interview, so as it stands they might start given dates by October or farther sef, cause the suspension of flight is subject to elongation.

It is this same Germany embassy that did visa interview for family unification. When they knew it's because of international flight, then they shouldn't have given anyone date yet.

It makes it look like when they gave some people date why can't they give student too?

So what happens to the UK that has plans to resume visa applications by july 28. Do this people actually do a wide consultations before taking decisions. Closing airspace since March, is international travel less important compared to interstate movement. I think they are so incompetent to handle the situation well enough as other countries have. Nigeria is simply running away from being embarrassed if they fail where little nations have succeeded.

What I have noticed is that the EU embassies are not fully working in Nigeria, if Nigeria can manage repatriation flights why not open the airspace and limit flights to 2 to 3 times a week pending when things get better, the embassies sees the country as a joke, who would work properly in a country that are not sure about themselves, even the October they are not still sure, they are saying it can be extended. The country is just not organised.

Oga how is this a good news. This simply confirms that they are utterly confused and don't have a direction and concrete plan on resumption of international flights. I will advice we disregard this news cos their are still lot of drama on the way.

My own take is that if u guys like o, relax... just know that its becoming a hopeless situation, the thing here is we are never together, Indians came out and cried out their country opened their airspace today but if it's Nigeria, people will come and be writing long epistles, and saying rubbish, If we are to call the federal government on Twitter now, people will still condemn it, Nigerian students went on twitter to call out the government on school reopening, guess what, our government has began to act, we are too scared to make d changes we seek, up on till now we have zero knowledge of when international flights will resume, since march 21 oo, oya na make we all dey here suffer am.

They should not even bother to open it anymore.
They'll and are suffering it.
A lot of them can not live without travelling for medical attention. We'll see how it turns out.
See how they are dying like lifeless foul.

Bayreuth sent me the said documents to hold along when going to the embassy for interview. I urge everyone who has an admission to request this from his/her school, and if you're already being given, never forget to hold it along!

Yes I got the same from Bayreuth too. Hopefully we get a date soon

The Ministry of Aviation is confused.
There have been so much pressure from the aviation industry to open up international flights.
Let's hope international flight may resume anything from mid Aug.
All is well regardless.

Can we now see that the problem is not with any embassy or country?
Our government is our problem.
If international students have had an association, a letter to the minister could be a movement in the right direction.
I repeat, any "message" to ministries of aviation, interior and foreign affairs might be productive.

But they may resume flight by August. Just that the ministry, just like the country is very confused.
