I lost a big job opportunity (Federal government job) February this year as a result of mistrust. I was told to bring 300k to buy the job slot even though I had the money I was suspicious I was going to be duped, but then I informed my friend who jumped at the offer, paid the money and to my almost surprise was actually called for training.

Funny and foolish of me right? Add yours.
Abi na you dem send to come confused us with job slots so that we go pay and get dupe?

how is it slavery working for someone? if everybody is into business, who will man the other sector of the economy.

u guys need to respect other people's choices; some love business while some loves working in corporate organizations. some people loves government work while others just want subordinates to train and mentor.

I know someone who made millions of naira in bitcoin business but wasn't fulfilled. currently he is undergoing his PhD program which involves staying in the lab everyday. the guy just want to be a lecturer.

u business guys should just respect other peoples choices and stop belittling them. everything is not always about money!

Give that guy Fed. Govt job and he quickly jump at it and forget about his so called biz.

jobs now gold that people hoard to the highest bidder..

same all continue and those employed will show insubordination and ego.. they may not be qualified at all kos they bought the job.. that is why we have square pegs in round holes..Nigeria is getting to that place where there will never be technocrats in specific fields anymore but amateurs and weaklings..

All of you lost either JOB or MONEY, only a living being can pursue these things.

Just last Tuesday, I lost a friend's brother in a road accident (he's more like a younger brother to me). A very agile, talented and dexterous.

So sorry about this

alot of it works especially those in oil companies. Today i would have become a shevron employee swimming in money if not for my doubting foolishness. No oil company job come for free, if schools are scamming students then what will companies do?

I lost a good job opportunity this year also. The month of January. After series of UBA Bank interview in Enugu. The i travelled back to Lagos and i received a mail saying i should come to Enugu for training. Then i rejected, my reason was i was occupied and also preparing to relocate to Ogun state where are currently base now. UBA pays #80,000 i just lost that monthly salary...

I need to seriously thank, bless and honour the Living Lord God Almighty for his mercies and favour, in terms of job/work.

I have never had to pay for a job and I have been fortunate to work in really really good places. I just see an ad on Myjobmag or Hot Nigerian jobs, I apply, get shortlisted, I go through a proper and legit recruitment process without paying anyone a dime and still receive an offer with great pay and excellent benefits.

Even on NL I have applied for a vacancy I saw advertised by a recruiter. Their client turned out to be one of the most sought after employer/reputable organization people want to work with (Interswitch) ...........let me just say it was a good outcome without money exchanging hands. grin

Wow! You're very lucky. Did you graduate with a first class?

Exactly bro, money money money. That's why there is so much corruption in the land we think too much about money. A white man can happily be a security and enjoy his life.

There is nothing wrong if one wants to practise his or her profession not everyone wants to be a business man, some of us just want to render services.

Lol...this takes us back to 2015/2016 when things were really very expensive to buy and unpredictable too after the general election, recession welcomed us all. Was selling shoes then, still an undergraduate. I bought a pair of shoe for N2500, sell of for N3200. On getting to the market the following week, the same shoe is now N4500. So when I want to sell any shoe to my student colleagues I had to call the market guys first to find out exactly how much the shoe is sold for retail price before I will come and go and kill myself...

The thing is that only very few number of Nigerians actually apply to jobs. They want to be spoonfed. If you give them a vacancy of a high paying job to apply to they will say the people have all been employed and the vacancy is formality.

Such defeatist mindset. Many of them complaining about no jobs call them and ask them how many jobs they have applied to, how many interviews they have attended you will hear stories. Some apply to just 3 jobs don't hear anything and come and be whining. Getting a job na job itself o. People are even ready to leave their countries to work abroad. Countless applications and emails sent from morning till night till morning. Interviews upon interviews.

I doubt it, except it is not a busy loaction. In Lagos that amount can barely pay for shop rentage how much more the money you will need as capital to start. Igbo guys don't do business with thousands, it's millions o. In my area here now, a shop is 600k, agreement 100k. One room shop at a busy location near a bus stop, i'm talking about agbado ijaiye ...just imagine places like Ikeja, VI, Lekki etc it's well.

Going by your story and speaking on experience of two close pals of mine. That one is called for training doesn't guarantee one gets the job

It could still be a scam. Have seen it

FG jobs comes with letter, and wen u report at training it validates it.
