LagosismyHome:I actually made the payment from my transferwise card,so probably that made it a bit faster. Immediately ID was confirmed, the transaction was done. Anyone looking to make transfers using any of these new guys should search for them on the Financial Conduct Authority, at least to ensure they are registered for such transfers in the UK, else your money might end up in one of Hushpuppi apprentice's account. |

kode12: for some reason I thought of Hushpuppi when doing the transfer . |

Hello beautiful people, Please what happens in a scenario where the spouse who is a uk citizen (sponsor) is the one applying for the child benefit ?? and not the non-uk citizen? For e.g. i'm Nigerian.... can my wife who is british apply for child benefits for our child? i'm the one who has no access to child support... and not her.. gratefulme40: |
| Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by omopapa: 10:39pm On Jul 21, 2020 |

| Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by LagosismyHome(f): 5:40am On Jul 22, 2020 |
marylandcakes:I wonder how these exchangers make money ..... because some rates are good. does your agent charge a transfer fee?. |

LagosismyHome:Hahaha!!! You can't be too wary oh. Due diligence is very necessary. I almost used one the other day, until I checked them out on FCA database they weren't registered, checked the website reg details, it was barely a month old and registered for only one year, even the operators don't trust the business to survive more than a year. I jeje carry my two left leg run for my life. |
| Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by marylandcakes: 6:14am On Jul 22, 2020 |
LagosismyHome:Yes £30 for £1000 |
| Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by LagosismyHome(f): 6:56am On Jul 22, 2020 |
marylandcakes:So technically the rate here is 543 without fees and 560 with fees. Still not bad at all .... |
| Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by justwise(mod): 7:54am On Jul 22, 2020 |
marylandcakes:Still not a good deal considering the fact that moneyflex gives 551 and charges less than £2, Ace money does it for free for 520 |

profemebee:Like someone mentioned here , you need to do your research to make sure they are a registered company and you can verify that, personally I don’t save my bank details with any of them and I don’t want my browser to remember my details with them. |

Bourne007:People still don't understand that's one of the benefits of these new banks. You get to see and approve the transactions real time. If HSBC or Halifax block your account peren, to unblock you go hear am. |

Monzo and the likes, are disposable accounts favoured by àwọn ọmọ olodus........ Try making a hefty transfer from a traditional account to Monzo or the likes....... Your bank would peg transfer in the cloud............ ![]() |
| Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Bourne007(m): 11:17am On Jul 22, 2020 |
Common oga Lexus .. But this is so untrue .. I use Monzo for small and/or hefty and never pegged. I have friends who use Starling Bank for business and theirs have never been pegged and even recognised by the govt for BBLS. Probably the one u dey use na China product so wouldn't be surprised if pegged ![]() Lexusgs430: |

missjekyll:I fear for people with just one bank account o...I have seen such people messed about by the banks so many times. Do you know that most of these banks rely on their systems to make common sense decisions. Hence, the term 'Computer says No'. One of my mates got a letter from Barclays to come and withdraw all his money that the bank would close the account in 30 days and they wouldnt provide any reason. He simply moved his money out to another bank. Imagine having one account. Another case, my colleague used her hsbc bank card to buy fuel, before you say jack, they blocked her account and told her they prevented a fraud. She couldnt have access to the account for a week. You need plan B for every endeavour why not a second bank account. I have 10 bank accounts! It costs nothing to have them, so why not! Why I advocate for these new digital banks like monzo and starling is because you're in control and they dont decline your transactions like these hopeless legacy banks. I still use them though but only route all my transactions through my Monzo, Starling or Revolut. |
| Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by wonlasewonimi: 12:11pm On Jul 22, 2020 |
Lexusgs430:Na lie. I do more transactions on my Starling than all my other bank accounts. My business account is even with Starling. The checks they do to set you up is more sensible than traditional banks ; they do close fraudulent accounts too. |
