I guess u didnt read ops full post, his sim had been in his iphone for months without removing it, changing an iphone imei requires the baseband, eeprom, u2, avilma to be replaced and also requires special hardware skills because these chips are heavily glued on the pcb, not worth it thats why hardware icloud unclock on new apple devices is not possible as icloud id is tied to the imei.

The only chances here are:

Op didnt say all the truth

Police are lieing

Network operator provided wrong info in relation to sim imsi and phone imei hence cell tower also said asaba

Op had a twin sim and was not aware

Op: ask the police to give u the imei of the lost phone, i have access to the global TAC database lets see where the issue is.

I now have the imei of the stolen phone been investigated. Do I drop it here?

First hand information: the IMEI does a lot, your sim can only let u be tracked via base transiver stations in a process called triangulation which gives you approx location based on the distance between all the BTS sometimes it isn't as accurate as you need most especially in rural areas.
But the IMEI on the phone would make use of GPS already in the phone, the IMEI from Kingfishers shows log of every sim that gets in and out of the phone that way when you get the sim information you can request call logs from the network provider legally and illegally which would now be used for analysis.
A phone stolen without sim can still be tracked once a sim enters that device and broadcast it's location through triangulation if the device is not internet enabled and broadcast it's location both from BTS and GPS on an internet enabled device with Gps having more precision.

We are saying the same thing but yours is filled with contradictions

Only imei cant track a phone, you need the sim inserted.

Btw Gps can not work without a sim inserted or internet enabled.

The degree to which the police authorities and it's personnel seem to be abusing the tracking mechanism is mind boggling.
Very reckless and can only be compared to Hitler's Gestapo unit.
NCC and the judiciary need to look into this. They trample on citizens right to privacy.

the phone u using where did u purchase it?
maybe u bought a stolen phone.
if its a stolen phone u bought no matter how u explain to our mumu policemen how u got it they wont listen
u will still get arrested
this is one reason i avoid buying second hand phones questionable characters
if the phone i am buying has no packet accompanying it or it is questionably cheap i am not buying.

Good day everyone who finds this and I wish to get help as soon as possible as I will be very brief.

On the 20th of July 2020 I got arrested by Asaba State CID from Enugu state and immediately thrown into prison.

On my arrest, I was arrested with an iPhone 7 Plus, the police officers dialed my phone number and it rang on my iPhone. Then I was asked where is the camon 15 I stole on the 7th of July in Asaba. I told them I didn’t visit Asaba on 7th I showed prove. Then the IPO told me the stolen phone was tracked and my phone number appeared to have been inserted into the stolen phone on the 9th of July.

This is ridiculous as I informed the police of my status in the society and that since April I have not removed my sim from my phone.

I had to pay N185,000 as amount of phone and cost of tracking to be freed after paying N50,000 for bail.

I am writing this because I need help, I need an independent tracker as agreed between me and the IPO to unravel the mystery of how my phone number got linked with the IMEI.

Please any recommendation will be appreciated

Did you get to know how they managed to get your number?

From this, it makes sense of how op was arrested.
A stolen phone, having inserted a sim, was used to call OP. Which then appeared on the call log. Perhaps OP was the first person contacted when the stolen phone was in use with a SIM.

Go to twitter and look for segalink.... Tell him ur case he will attend to OR hand u over the proper person's and make sure the top oga's are involved. This is a case of extortion.
You are entitled to get every dime u have spent and more as u can prove u have nothing to do with and at asaba on the 7th.
Don't fret or u will become their cash cow for a long time.

Thanks so much. I am now on Twitter for this.

Yes! They said they tracked it via the imei but have refused to double check it for errors because my sim has never left my phone into a Tecno phone

No! They said it was my sim that was inserted into the stolen phone. Which is not possible because I didn’t remove my sim since the past three months and I have contacted mtn who confirmed this.

pm sir, i might be of help

you seem sensible.
how will i be able to help the op?
1. i will file a report for the op on
¡. extortion
¡¡.defamation of character
¡¡¡.illegal detention
¡v. false accusation/allegations
2. if he has proof of payment or made a statement in their log it'll make things easier.
3. I'll then request from his service providers his phone catalog. if at all the imei was tweaked i can reverse the process and identify the stolen phone's compete information.

Please I need this help as MTN catalog will show how many phones I have inserted my sim into. This will help me a lot, I have never changed my sim into any phone for the past three months

There's an error somewhere. Definitely. However kindly do your due diligence before filing. Just do the 360 degree assessment

Exactly, you get the concept.
An analysis needs to be done to know this fact. And this is usually for kidnapp cases

I'm sorry about that. always contact the right person for your job. i think you went for the cheap ones not knowing you're falling for a bait.
Anyways this should be a warning to y'all out there searching for cheap things "most of them are fake" though not all but most.
after being scammed by three people you'll lose all zeal to continue pursuing justice for the illegal extortion amongst other things they might have done to you.

Everyone in this thread who offered to help are 419ners.

I kept paying for nothing. They will promise to help track the stolen phone or do one thing or another yet they will scam me.

The twitter warrior too mentioned doesn’t read private messages and is selective on his help. I suspect he selects already threading cases.

I have successfully reported to police complaints on WhatsApp today and they have given me tracking number.

Op, this is a pathetic story.

I do not have much to say. My advice to you is that if you are very sure of your innocence and you bought the device legally and you also have documents to attest to that. Please, do not keep quiet and let it go like some NL users here are advising you to do.

You might just be saving a soul by pursuing the case and seeking justice.

Let's keep doing the right thing to save our darling country. Cos the corrupt politicians only will not help us. One day those of us here that are corrupt will hold the reins of this great nation and it will become corrupt overload.

Evil thrives when the Just sit back and do nothing cos evil never sleeps.

Please contact the said @segalink and the NPF Twitter handles to get justice.

I am wishing you God speed in getting the Justice that you deserve.

Pls, I need help also as I'm in a similar situation as this currently..

The police are claiming that my sim card was inserted in a stolen phone in zamfara, meanwhile, I stay in Kano and have never been to zamfara all my life..

The phone stolen was a tecno pop 7 which I've never seen with my eyes and the phone I use is an infinix hot 6..

They claim that my sim was the last one that was tracked as being inserted in the phone meanwhile, I've never removed my sim to insert it on another phone within the period the said phone was stolen, before then and even till now..

It's frustrating! I need help pls
