Jolene201:Brooo I've to be very honest with you without mincing words rn, if it's really Uniben, you cannot transfer to dentistry except you know someone very strong there, I mean very strong, your gp or result cannot help you. The last open transfer to medicine was in 2016. If anyone tells you otherwise, then the person is lying to you. Your sure bet right now is through jamb, transfer to medicine and dentistry is almost impossible in uniben, it's even much easier transferring to medicine in Uniben than dentistry. You may be surprised how l know about all these. Well, I've gone to made enquiries (although for my younger cousin) and I was told point blank by the Dean's secretary that transfer cannot be allowed into the department, same with medicine. So it's left for you to look for strong connections if u really want to transfer. Good luck!! . Did u take jamb??. Getting Uniben dentistry via jamb isn't that hard if u ask me. Ps: Also a 200L uniben undergraduate. |

DonJ7:why you do want to leave BDS? Which school do you hope will accept you switching from MBBS to BDS? If I won't be too blunt, you most likely will have to start from UG1. |
| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by ShahRukhKhan: 9:48am On Jul 26, 2020 |
opaclem:14yrs old isn't too early to get into the university. Any university that doesn't use Age requirements will gladly accept you for MBBS even if you're 13. Do get your hands on jamb brochure. Most of the schools like Unilag that use age limit have it well stated inside jamb brochure. OAU doesn't use age limit. |

Getting into the medicine department alone is not just enough in some Unis like mine AAU I'm a first year student in the department and we're 300+ but only nearly 50 get to graduate. It's not that they're dull in fact they're the most serious anywhere. Night classes are always full even on Sundays but fail just one course and you're out. Also there's the pre MBBS exam that 200 level students take after 1 and a half years. That's where they filter the students. Until you pass that exam you're not a medical student sef But God's grace that has been keeping my seniors before me will also be with us. |

FirstSon01:Exactly why I had to change from the school to EBSU. I picked it initially cos I heard the competition is less tougher compared to some other schools but I later got the "gist of overpopulation" from people on this forum most of who are students of the school. Sharparly, I japa go EBSU. I don't know what awaits me in EBSU but whatever comes out at the end, we keep moving and fighting and hoping.......I have regged and everything. Just waiting for admission now. AAU has been prevented from admitting into Medicine department this year sef. Maybe it's because of their overpopulation....who knows |

DonJ7:Why don't you get your BDS degree first then switch to medicine? I dunno if your school will allow you switch from dentistry to medicine. If they do,fine but if they don't,just manage your dentistry till you graduate. Starting from scratch....how do you want to go about it? Will you write jamb all over again or what? |
| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Donpre(m): 12:27am On Jul 27, 2020 |
DonJ7:Retake jamb... I hear stories of switching from BDS to MBBS but that's all they are, stories. In my school especially, it has never happened to the best of my knowledge. if you really don't like dentistry, enroll for jamb next year and slug it out for medicine. Good luck! |

horpeyemmi66:Although I stopped academic studies several years ago, I can't help but comment on this. You're on-point with the UI part, especially the part about giving more room for merit. Also, your writing is excellent! I'm impressed. |

Alexaonfleek:this is not nice ó Alexa. How can you advise someone to do what they don't like for 5 more years. That's not nice and can be depressing self. What if he do something drastic along the way. Then to now start MBBS after spending 6yrs. Although I heard if you want to cross from dentistry to MBBS after finishing your BDS you will do just 18 months or so studies. However, I won't advice anyone to continue with what they don't like. |
| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by ShahRukhKhan: 4:14pm On Jul 27, 2020 |
DonJ7:That is completely normal, I'll suggest you start working on retaking utme or using A levels if you have it. Alongside that you may be working on transfers but that will be slim if not nonexistent. Cheers to you doing what makes you happy |
