Hello house
I greet everyone
Please I need a guide on how to start with student visa application for Canada, I’m looking forward to processing Masters programme in civil engineering, I finished from a polytechnic. Affordable schools one can apply to and and all that. I’ll appreciate a prompt response. Thanks

You can't do a masters with an HND, your best bet is a PGD in a college on a course related to your HND.

Hello experienced gurus in the house.
Please can anybody say something about this college: Canadian Career Education College.
www.cancollege.ca
Is it a scam, though I checked the school on ircc.ca and found it to be an accredited DLI but still doubting the school

Please focus on more prominent colleges like Conestoga, Humber, centennial , novia Scotia community college...

You will need to apply for an extra one year course towards the end of the first course and also apply for a visa extension making the total stay 2yrs.

How often is the visa extension given....could it be denied leading to necessary return back to Nigeria or the success rate is high....thanks

Good day guys,

I have a cash of about 3.5m right now and if I sell my car I can raise about 4.8-5m .

I'm looking forward to studying abroad, I have a b.eng in civil engineeringbut with second class lower which I think will not qualify me for MSc.

I need advise on the kind of program I can apply to that will be eligible for PGWP and also I will like to know if the fund I have will be enough.

N.b : I can use my uncle as sponsor for the purpose of visa application

Your best bet is a PGD/PGC in a course related to civil engineering. At least a 2yrs course guarantees you a 3yrs PGWP which gives you a high chance at PR.

Yes you can use your uncle as your sponaor.

U would need to do some research to know that, different schools with different tuition fee range.

Apart from the Compulsory 1 year $10,000 CAD Living Expenses in CANADA , u will need to visit the sch. u are interested in (their website), check the Tuition fee of your Program for International Students

So once u know the Tuition fee ,
total it together with the $10,000CAD, u will be able to arrive at an average amount of money you need to budget for everything

u can also go to YouTube and search for this Particular Video,
Canadian Study Permit Application - Cost Breakdown
It will show u the Complete Cost Breakdown to Study in Canada

Note: Flight itineraries, Study Permit Application Fee, Application fee for the school has its own BUDGET

hello please i have asked before and no reply the please i also need and will appreciate every ones input on these . first congrats on your progress ,my question is if you provide all documents requested from and the ones you couldn't provide due to log down how did you go about it because i saw in their site that if you are having difficulties providing any document you should attach a reason and explain why you cant provide it. reason am asking is because am having trouble getting my English proficiency exception letter from my school and i don't know how to go about these and that's the only thing holding me from applying .
Insanity:
I wasn't expcting this, I applied on 05 July 2020, received biometric request letter on 06 July 2020. I received Medical Examination Instruction letter today, 24 July 2020. When I saw the mail this morning, I thought I have been denied, I avoided my account till I couldn't hold it anymore I had to check. I just applied 19 days ago, and my admission is for Winter 2021, I am hoping and praying this ends well.

Goodluck everyone!!

Hello all,

Please I am a bit confused about what I saw in the screenshot below. Does this mean that if I defer my admission for fall 2020 which have been moved online temporarily I won't fufill the criteria? Or is this for people with study permit?

Unless your school in canada personally requested for the letter. A letter of English proficiency isn't a prerequisite for visa or admission.

Otherwise you can write a letter stating that cos of the lockdown in school. There's nobody that can help you get the letter sent to you or to the school

Hello Sir, I've been following your post for a while and found them helpful and I'm in the process of mailing supervisors now as I already have a list of them. Do I need to mail them with a thesis or just mail them to request them to be my supervisors? I'm looking at an Msc in Public Health. Thanks.

I generally advise that the email should focus on how you found their profile, show your previous research or experience relate to their interest, and express your interest in graduate study. I prefer it to be very brief and tailored to the prof interest and past research because I know they probably receive thousand of email requesting their support.

I don’t advise proposing a research topic unless you have enough supervisors. I have noticed that some will reject you not because they don’t have space, but because they don’t like your research topic or proposal. Canada writing style, active, is also slightly different from usual training and style in Nigeria, passive. So, some may judge your proposal poorly.

To save myself all this headache, considering that most research topic will likely change finally, I just don’t mention any topic or add proposal to my email except the prof ask for it. Even if they do, I will say it in a way that I am open to other topic or methods.

These are my opinions that does not reflect everyone’s reality. All the best.

Nope, u will only need to do GMAT or GRE if the masters program u are going for requires it.

For instance,. M.BA programs in Canada will require u to do a GMAT or GRE and av a particular score range

In terms of boosting ur application for masters, it depends on a whole lot of factors , most especially if its a THESIS Masters program u are going for e.g CGPA (1st Class or 2.1), Contextualized E-mail to potential supervisors, Research interests etc..

Do check my post on page 112 in the link below

U don't need IELTS cos u come from an English Speaking Country (Nigeria), so even if you see it in an admission requirement, u are EXEMPTED.

IELTS for admission purpose are meant for countries whose official language is not English
E.g India, China, Philippines. Vietnam etc
.

Its only when u want to apply for Permanent Residency (PR) after ur studies that it's highly required of u to do IELTS
