My ideal investment on this hustle now is 800k max and should be a good naija used car.

Whoever still invests on toks cars for this biz is still living in yesterday.

Sure, I honestly don't know why people still go as far as using 1.8 to buy a car for this business

Guys see Wetin a guy did in my car this evening. He vomited inside and messed up everywhere. He apparently took too much of free drink and pepper soup at his friend's house. We were on uber trip. What do you suggest? Rider not ready to pay for cleaning. Uber indicated a receipt for such in their app. My car is smelling of alcohol and pepper soup that he vomitted.

He is even saying he didn't have money for the trip.

I have taken the car to car wash. Got receipt and sent details to Uber.

Bad market. Which kind stupid mofo be this. On top of that you still knack ac give the guy.

I disagree with the both of you on this, this rider im question did no wrong, he asked the driver right before the trip started if he accept tra transfer and he said yes so where was he wrong here?

Every driver is expected and advised to have a car charger for themselves and their riders, me I've a iPhone, Samsung and BB cord for both myself and my riders so what the driver ought to have done was to offer his rider a charging cord to get his phone charged so he can pay him his money right there b4 leaving. Rider was even kind enough to tip him extra 1k.

Yes, we all know alert can take some times reason why it is also advised you have the app for right check. Driver ourght to have been patient and have some respect instead he went ahead and report rider hasn't paid.

Thats wrong.

Trying to do the right thing does not amount to doing the right thing, if he/she has paid the driver in cash, none of us will b discussing dis.

They are simply misinformed, a very good number of them may not have even done motor business before.
Some even borrow money to do the business and they calculate that the car will be paying 100 or 120k every week and they work with this calculation only to see that it's not what it is on paper, plus they may be unfortunate to fall into the hands of bad or irresponsible drivers in addition to some other unforseen factors.

That unforseen factors is one of the strong reasons business fall... Like saying everyone have a plan until they got hit by reality.

I know what Bolt is trying to do. They see that all other means of transportation are increasing their fees. Danfos, train, and every other transport blah blah blah, they are increasing.
This means that people will choose to be comfortable to take Bolt because it's a slight difference in transportation fare.

They did not think about the number of people cars on this bolt can carry and it's not a carry and drop thing or junction to junction thing. Moreover, even if there are millions of requests, traffic will never allow you to do enough for a day. We never talk of those touts calling themselves law enforcement idiots.

It's bad

Took one rude girl from gbagada to ikeja. Price was N1,200. On Bolt. Both of us had quarrel from d express to her destination. When she paid me,, I had to swear for Bolt cos if I receive this kind insult and rider paid N2,500. I’ll be happy not receiving insult on peanut, yet they plan of reducing it more. Ok no problem. I’m waiting. One, I won’t put on AC. Two, if u insult me I end trip and drop u. Three, if u no take time I might injure u. Four, ur life will be at risk if u don’t respect urself.
That’s why u can’t do uber or Bolt and be successful in Nigeria. Their commission is very high. Fare is so cheap. If u Gross 12k on Bolt a day, ur profit is 6k that is if u drive ur own car. now traffic are everywhere so how do u complete d more rides. Even with d current price at times u won’t be able to off ur app cos request keep coming. I prefer to do 4 trips a day that will give me 10k or more, than doing 10 useless trips. At this juncture, we need a union. #unionforuberboltdriver

What you need is a bug, a crawler that can gain access to drivers phones to enable you shut the uber app at will.

Good morning guys, I'm relatively new to d ride sharing world and I must say I've learned vital lessons just from reading a few pages here. I am employed but I'm a low income earner (less than 100k/month)but my responsibilities far outweigh my current income and my job leaves me with about 4 days a week which I can use for more gainful ventures. I work in ikorodu and live around Oshodi/sango Ota. I need your help on how much the weekly rental on an average vehicle is at the moment or weekly pay for HP as I'm considering either options. Also if you have a vehicle I'd be grateful to hear from you too.
I've recently gotten my driver's license.
Thanks

You live in oshodi/Sango ota and work in Ikorodu?

You're the first person I've observed that has talked about working in Ikorodu but doesn't live around.

Back to your question, just kill the thought!

The difference between the poor man and rich man is that one works for money all his life and the other makes his money work for him.

I have been following this thread for the past 1year with aim of joining the Uber business, Now I have seen someone to help me get a car from us Corolla 02. it cost 1800$ @400 and i already paid 500k,the agreement is for them to help me pay all necessary fee and I paid the rest on instalment.the car is at the port already waiting for shipping and Vin report has been sent to me.
Note: the person na family

But with the level of Lamentation concerning Uber fee now, is it good if one can be doing small trip within, like Berger to ogba with duly register or traveling to ibadan or shagam, bcs what am reading here shows this Uber of a thing done cast and am almost in already.
please I need ur opinion.
thanks for ur opinion

And for this festive season if u re interested am from kwara, transport fee now is around 5k to 6k as at Sunday,it maybe more than that by tomorrow, if u can option for that 3 to 4 passenger is like 20k. just saying my own nioooooo.

Sometimes when they need drivers they won't allow you set destinations and some zones are programmed in such a way that you can't set destination so the best thing is set destination elsewhere then drive to such areas

You're in already bro and since the person involved na family person, I'm sure the instamental payment will be made convenient for you.

Note the total cost of the car plus shipping and clearing might be about 1.4m or more.

Guys let me remind you again that the original plan for ehailing was "Transportation in Luxury and Comfort".

The Luxury means that it is Premium and should not be compromised by cheap fares.

Thats why people will abandon their cars to have you drive for them and pay you handsomely as an executive driver.

If you allow them to do this thing to you people, be willing to have Agbero and Danfo people as your riders. Even touts will be your main patronisers.

Your Job should be executive and luxury. Quit that job now.

you are very correct....i prayed to God to help me out.. i got tired of the job. i struggled day and night with nothing to show for it, it was terrible. i almost gave up. God heard my cry and brought a man my way. he takes me to his office every working day, i sit in his office browsing on laptop, checking the next move and opportunity and when we get home in the evening, he gives me 7k. i am grateful to God for this as i am presently out of uber or bolt. guys, this hustle shouldn't make u comfortable, seek Gods face and better days will come through.

God will punish that idiot that always writes "Lower prices can attract more riders which will translate into higher driver earnings" as if the nincompoop doesn't know drivers will have to increase their work rates and spend more on maintenance in order to keep making what they were making before.
If higher driver earnings is their concern why can't they simply reduce their commission rate

Honestly

I saw the guy comment and I was like is this guy joking,
i would even prefer to go on 2 trips that will give me 10k than going on 10 trips that will give me 15k.

They should make it the higher the price the lower the rides sef cuz much rides would affect driver's health and car maintenance.

Their only concern is getting commission from much rides but they failed to do their maths correctly.

If 5 trips amounts to 10k gross while 10 trips amount to same 10k gross, it is still same commission they will have on the total amount of 5 trips they will still have on the total amount of 10 trips, but in this case, drivers are doing less trips for higer fare while their own commission still remain but they must have tot the more trips the more commission for them.

They should make the price higher and rides lower, let who can afford it take the ride while the ones that can't afford it go for danfo.
