Hello Dicedapples,

Rolling it over may be the best bet and wait for any further request if the certificate isn't sufficient enough or liquify it and deposit it into your account then send both the BS and proof of liquidation. The latter makes more sense if the funds is sufficient enough to cover your first year studies.

All the best
Thanks for the reply, the funds have been liquidated. I also came across a tweet from a person who asked about his CAQ expiring soon, and his study permit was still being processed. IRCC replied saying as long as the certificate was valid at the time of submission, then it shouldn’t be a problem. I’m just hoping that answer also applies to me.

Hi,

Pls a friend just got this email and on the account nothing has changed.
She did upfront medicals, and finger prints last year when she applied for visit visa (although rejected) now applying for study permit for PhD. All on the account is the submission confirmation since May 14th and now this email. Pls does anyone have an insight of what is happening?
Thank you in advance.

The guy that got approved few days back said the same thing. He got the message but when he checked his account there was nothing there. He checked the next day and saw his approval. So I suggest your friend should check again tomorrow.

I received this email from my school tonight

Dear Student,

I wanted to make a few things clearer for you as I am getting many E-Mails regarding these issues.

1. You do not need a valid student visa/study permit to register online.

2. If you register and do not get a study permit on time you can be refunded your full deposit, except for the $98 confirmation fee, which is non-refundable.

3. As you are international students the estimated fees are showing $3300 tuition, but you have that paid, so only the other amounts indicated apply.

4. You do not need to make any payments when you register online. All other fees are due by October 6th.

5. If you do not get your study permit on time to enroll in classes by the deadlines already provided we can explore other options.

Hello Sewenswepzy,

You need not to be fuss about whether the program is for a year or two. The most important thing is securing your visa. If the possibility of securing a two year program is not sure, kindly settle for the one year program. Either applying for an extension or a new study permit isn't as rigorous as it is from outside Canada.

As long as you can show the required funds for the subsequent program which at most is about 3k and able to pay your fees, you're good. However, its advisable to have a good grade after the completion of your first program, as you will be needing your transcript and/or completion letter from the head of your department prior to filing for the subsequent program.

If you see a program with co-op, kindly opt for it. The possibility to switch course or program is very allowed and acceptable without any consequence from the part of IRCC nor institution.

All the best

Thanks for this info...really explanatory.

once you are done with your upfront medical you would send the copy the clinic gives you through a webform ..... the clinic would be the one to also send your results to IRCC.
