The result of Igbos and IPOB hatred for Yorubas or Yorubas is them murdering, raping and torturing to death of their Yoruba girlfriends and wives since 2015 when Yorubas supported Buhari to become the president. From Power Uti, the former wrestler, to the Airforce officer to the Lekki murder-suicide, the one who set his Yoruba girlfriend ablaze and many others who vented their anger for the Yorubas on their Yorubas spouses and girlfriends by murdering and violating them. Some didn't even make the news. I saw this coming with the extreme hatred and malice the Igbos started showing towards the Yorubas since Buhari came to power. I asked myself, what if any of these people showing hatred for the Yorubas has a Yoruba girlfriend or wife? See the result. When the Chris Ndukwe tortured his Yoruba fiancee to death and "horrifically" murdered her before taking the drug that silently killed him, Igbos quickly put the blame on the Yoruba fiancee for infidelity without proofs. The question is, how many men all over the world has horrifically murdered their wives and girlfriends for infidelity like that if that claim was true? I believe he sacrificed her for the Igbos to take over Nigeria. I am not Yoruba but it pains me when men attack women like that and I have seen this trend since Buhari came to power when Igbos hatred for the Yorubas reached sky-high. I pity other Yoruba women that will still be murdered, abused and violated by their Igbo husbands and boyfriends. The first time I mentioned this on nairaland, my comments were deleted and a mod banned me for 72 hours. After that there has been about 5 other cases of Igbo men killing Yoruba women, so the trend has not stopped. There is a silent war going on between the Yorubas and the Igbos and Yoruba women are becoming victims. Que lastima. You can ban me, bash me, threaten me, delete this comment and whatever but I've spoken the truth. The facts and figures with the trend speaks for themselves. I watched in horror as a gorgeous Yoruba woman was getting married to a mean-looking Igbo man the other day. Only God knows how they will end up. My igbo neighbour beat his Yoruba wife to stupor until she fled one night and never returned, over any slight provocation. His in-laws told their daughter that an Igbo man is not an option when it comes to marriage. The question is, how many Yoruba men have battered, killed, abused or violate their Igbo girlfriends or wives since 2015? And how many Igbo men have done that to their Yoruba lovers? Next time you hear a man battered or murdered his wife or lover in Nigeria, especially the southwest, check their names first... 7 Likes 4 Shares |

Your observations may be superficially correct but your inferences are not correct. The pronunciation, origins and meaning of those names are very different in the two languages. However, Yoruba, Bini, Ishan, Ikwerres, Igbo, Igala, Itshekiri and other tribes in between are all related in different degrees. If you start from Ibadan in the West and start moving eastwards, you will notice that the languages spoken along the way keep changing slightly by every 10 km until it finally become Igbo language around River Niger. It's a language spectrum with Igbo at one extreme ,Yoruba at the other extreme with Bini, Urhobo, Itshekiri,Igala, Ishan, Ikwerres, Ika ,Olukumi in between. Obalatule: 1 Like |

Igbos are the most 'migrated' people in Nigeria. I assure you in the remotest villages in the North, you will find Igbo settlers there, doing their business. Some have even contested and held local political/leadership posts in these places and lived in peace. Over time, they have migrated, settled, intermarried and have grown from generation to generation within these locations. There are parts of Benue, Kogi, Delta, Rivers, etc with high population of Igbos. Ideally, through naturalisation and being citizens of Nigeria, they are free to claim origin from these places, contest for any position freely and fairly and have equal rights as any other citizen. This does not change the fact that these places (villages, LGAs or even States) have Aboriginal Indigenes with their history, culture and languages which should be respected and preserved. The recent attempts by certain individuals such as this clownu guy, to twist history or subdue traditions of the indigenous people of certain regions is highly disrespectful. I think people like this Nnamdi Kanu should not be considered as the voice of the Igbo people. From my observation, he only ends up embarrassing them anytime he speaks or acts. And regarding this topic, I have NEVER heard of any Igbo-speaking part of Edo or Esan. The Esans have their well-known History, Language and traditions. If there are any rising numbers of Igbo migrants/settlers in any part of the land, they are free to identify as Esans and respect and preserve the Esan language, culture. And NEVER make attempts to change the identity of the Esans. 4 Likes |

Whiteangel1234: The correct name is UBIAZA. Many stories have been built round the origin of this name. Some say the party that headed for the present Esan territory during Oba Ewuan the Selfish's impositions was led by three Ekakulo who later founded the Ruling Houses of Irrua, Uromi and Ubiaza and that these three war leaden were brothers. At Alu-Otoegbele where they rested and shared their property, the most junior brother committed adultery with one of the wive of the most senior brother; this caused him a great shame. The two senior called him, gave him his share, telling him "Depart from us! II (BIA NOLI KHA KHIAN OSE ONIN!" Which literally means "Push him that way! And from this came the name UBIAZA 1 Like |

Obalatule:And in South East, when you checked your so called google map, you didnt see the footprints of ANY OTHER TRIBE, right? Igbos EXCLUSIVELY own South East and no other tribe has footprints there, but other people's lands have footprints of Igbos and MUST share their lands with Igbos. Do you people even listen to yourselves when you make these comments? 5 Likes |

There is something about Ubiaja I couldn't place back in school, granted, my course mate from there spoke the ishan language, but he was more of my guy than he was of his fellow Ishan guys. I will like to know what KANU has to say here, considering the same guy could also speak Igbo. But I for one thinks he is Ishan because his name is Ishan. |

Obalatule:Of course I agree, Igbos spread beyond the South East. The question is, in the map you consulted, NO OTHER TRIBE spreads into Igboland, right? South East is EXCLUSIVELY IGBOS, right? |
