Luke 11 from verse 2.

If He told you what to do. Why introduce what He didn't tell you. You introduce it and justify it by saying He never said we shouldn't light candles for prayers. Jesus said love little children. He didn't say you should not kill them. Have you been killing them because He never mentioned it

Sometimes we need to understand the Bible is vast and the truth therein are limitless. I used to argue it too before till I came across Psalms 18:28 For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

Another verses I know off hand is exodus 27:20 which says: “You shall charge the sons of Israel, that they bring you clear oil of beaten olives for the light, to make a lamp burn continually.”

Remember also in Matthew 5:15 when Jesus Wass discussing how a Christian's life should be, he said, "Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house." For him to have mentioned candles that means it has been in usage even before the Orthodox Church

1. Cele is a genuine Church that believes in Jesus Christ and the use of the holy Bible...

2. Cele have both good and bad members just as any other Pentecostal, Catholic, Anglican etc.. Church...

3. Cele has many parishes/branches Nation wide...

4. One Parish may have a Shepard/Pastor that is bad maybe even using occultic powers just as some Pentecostal pastors also use occultic powers but that doesn't mean that Pentecostal church is bad ...

5. Many other parishes/branches have God fearing Shepards/Pastors that relate to their members with the fear of God...

6. The only colour of candle permitted in Cele Church is white... Anyone that tells you otherwise is lying to you...

7. Cele is also a member of CAN... In my time in Cele, I saw many good Prophets, I also saw few evil Prophets that were exposed by the good ones...

8. Cele does not permit fornication and adultery but that does not mean some members or even Shepards don't engage in it same way some Pastors of Pentecostal churches also engage in fornication and adultery...

9. Cele believes in both the new and old testament of the Bible although more of their activities seem to be focused more on the old testament but that doesn't mean they don't believe and operate in the new testament as well...

10. One thing I noticed about the church is that if you leave the church and you begin to lie about the church or say negative things about the church, you may likely suffer harsh consequences...

Conclusion: Cele is a good church that has it's fair share of good and bad people... It has both sincere and occultic Shepard's/Pastors just as Pentecostal Churches ... Cele is part of the body of Christ just as other denominations are part of it...
Cele has been more of a blessing to me than a curse... I only left the church for personal reasons of which I dont have bad blood for the church because I know that it has also been a huge blessing to me...

The New Testament came to explain, exchange and upgrade what was found in the Old Testament. Candle lighting was in the days of the law but Christ came to make some corrections with his life by provision of grace.

My father is a staunch devoted Seventh-Day Adventist and has been for over 35 years. He has told us as children on few occasions that members of these white garment Aladura churches will get to heaven before we Adventists.

I have never known my father to be a flippant person especially when it comes to matters of religion.

How come he has not joined them on the xpressway to heaven?

The Church is very legendary. There may be Parishes that are bad, but the pure and real Celestial Church established by SBJ Oshoffa is legendary and special from Amen Church. That Church can never die.

If care is not taken, about 70% of white garment churches members will become celestial church members in the next 20 years, it has started already.

Many Pentecostal members secretly belong to Celestial Church.

The same way many celestial members secretly attend pentecostal programmes. So, don't be one sided

It's an extremely interesting church to attend. There are some really bad cele pastors like the OP has said and just like you will find bad pastors in many other churches too. But the good ones are way more than the bad.

People who say negative things about the church do so out of ignorance. Some tell you they are scared of cele girls because they can harm you and I laugh. Any cele church that uses any other colour of candles aside white is not real cele and could be cherubim and seraphim. Their prophecies are also real and they don't ask you for money.

I used to enjoy the old celestial hymns and worship but I noticed the young generation have used their nonsense wokeness to spoil everything. Every one of them wants to sound foreign while singing and be forming one yeye tune that sounds very annoying to the ear. They be singing with their nose now especially the lady choristers.

There are some high level cele churches that you'll attend and you'll know you are in the right place. I miss all their harvests (ikore) bazar, etc.

God bless u sir. I attended RCCG before and my business went down and somebody introduced me to CCC within 2 months am back in track... the only thing I was asked to do was to buy 7 Sticks of candles And went to mercy land to pray for 3 days and coconut... no black candle , no black egg and nothing again. Just my faith.. God bless the writer of the topic.

I know candles were used in old testament. All occult societies use candle for sacrifice and worship. Hindu, Buddhism, Judaism and many secret societies use candle.

Have you asked yourself if this was necessary. Why didn't Christ mention it when He taught us how to pray. Alm the time Bible told us Jesus pray. There was no candles. Paul never mentioned it. Not even any of the disciples. Why use it if the Master came and never used it. Think.

Living Faith does use candle at time..

Not really...most Pentecostal members moved from cele. If you want to catch them, play celestial songs in most wedding parties and see how many of them respond by singing along word for word.

When Jesus taught us how to pray, why didt we only recite the Lord's prayer?
Is old testament now occultic book? Every secret society using candle uses colored candle not white... Any cele church using any other candle than white candle abegi run...
Should i now say because Pastor Adeboye said we should bring handkerchief for prayer and Jesus, John, Peter, Paul etc never said such in the bible, is occultic right?

I have a problem with number 6 and 10.

Why use candle at all when its celestial church of CHRIST. I never came accross an passage in the bible where Jesus told us to light a candle to pray. All churches that use candles or incense are fetish.

The bible is the rule book of christianity

Number 10 you said if you leave and talk harshly bad things may happen to the person. People talk harshly about our Lord Jesus everyday. He doesn't harm them because He is love. If atheists repents and come to Christ, with open arms He receives them. What then is a church that claims to be christ like doing with harshly making things bad for leavers. That's not God.

I have never entered a white garment church before and will never enter one. Their activities do not match what I read in my bible daily.

Your logo contains ONE EYE. You brandish the cross everytime. Jesus is no longer on the cross. He went to the cross not by choice but by Roman soldiers. Why do some churches hold the cross tightly and ignore the grave. Is the grave not as important as the cross. We dont need the cross or the grave or any symbol.

Jesus never told us to hold on to any of that or make reference to it.

Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Believe in your heart, confess with your mouth and let God see that in your lifestyle. Period.

Christianity is simple. We just want to make it complicated.

The Bible has only one meaning which is the Author's intended meaning. Jesus' message on Candle has only one meaning which is let your light shine.

Arabirin, you seem to know what christianity entails. Enlighten us please. Is there a universal definition for what spiritual activities a christian can do? How is the use of incense, candles in your worship unchristian? If you were directed by the holy spirit to do so, so be it. You could argue that it could not have been according to the direction of the holy spirit, it must have been according to the man, but why would you think the holyspirit cannot provide such a driection? Who are you to decide what kind of direction the holyspirit provides? Lady say what you know and don't generalize it if you are not knowledgeable enough. In fact the direction of the holy spirit is not not necessary knowledge-based. The holyspirit can direct you to do something in a certain situation now, but tell you to do something else in the same situation tomorrow.

They mostly add extras to their Christianity like incense burning, candles etc.

It's basically a confusing mix of the mosaic laws/ old testament practises and teachings of Jesus (under Grace) with a tiny sprinkle of traditional rites.

What you said is truth infact 60% of the churches are around water only here in lagos because the only left lands are watery and most are new churches,we prefer to own the land than rent lands cause once the holy spirit descends that land can't be used for any other thing apart from church

Do you know that the era of laws are gone and we operate under grace?

Do you realize that we no longer kill birds and other animals for the atonement of sins because Christ settled this once and for all?

Do you realize that the veil of the temple tore into two when Christ died, hence no more priest directing or leading one to God?

Do you realise that if the Bible wants that practice to continue, it will be emphasised?

See that it appears in the Old testament of the Bible does not mean that the practice should continue? If Christ wanted it to continue a better option of Him dying for us all wouldn't have surfaced. The Apostle would have continued the practice and would have been seen as an important part of our service to God.
