Blackney knew what they were doing after all.. Time to unbundle the remaining UACN in my portfolio and move on.... We will still make it all back.

If I were on uacn I wouldn't sell now. Just wait and see if they share the proceeds of the sale.

Secondly, NSE is unpredictable, so don't be surprised to see uacn on full bid tomorrow.

Another round of Hope Investing. Una no dey tire? While Blackney was selling shares people were giving juicy reasons for selling instead of facing facts.

I guess many investors in UACN didn't even digest the half year financial statement released last week. If they did, they would have exited the bus before this news. If I am not mistaken

Loss Per Share from Continuous operation : 7kobo
EPS from discontinued operation: 32kobo.

Best case EPS scenario : 60kobo by full year. Probable Dividend payout : 50kobo or nothing at all.

Ladies and gentlemen this stock shouldn't be selling higher than UCAP. Fair value is around N2.50 and N4. No be everything be FVE analysis some are just commonsense.

For about 6 years. I am sure many people missed that one. This is probably the first acquisition of Themis Capital and will be a guinea pig for them.

The focus is not so much on the loss figures for two years in a row but for the so called corporate restructure and where it leaves retail shareholders. I am still trying to figure out a way forward after they sell the third portfolio coy either this year or early next year. Asset stripping in motion. For the short and mid term its a no-no. if it survives to the long term it may be a different story. If you must have a relationship with UACN, go for one of the subsidiary in paint manufacturing. The other cash cow is not quoted so you can't access it.

If you know how to read financial statements, pay close attention the CFS and notes to the account.

Probably my last post on UACN before people think there is anything personal.

"Jijoist" may still have a winning proposition albeit a very unfavourable risk adjusted returns.

Act as the spirit leads.

When you sign a binding agreement you should tell us the purchase consideration...at the least.

Anyway, for UACN faithfuls this should not be a surprise to you because I had mentioned in an earlier post that the company does not have cash and will basically be selling assets. Don't expect any special dividends o. If there was going to be any Blakeney LLP would not have bailed out if its attractive.

Let me go back and check all those fancy calculations people were churning out earlier. Maybe there is still redemption.

Seunn11 is not a wicked man, he has the right to desire UACN @ N4 just I desire to buy more UACN @ N5. Even ARM also has the right to desire to sell their UACN @ N96.

Now to correct an impression, I did not sell my land just because I was in a horry to buy UACN, rather I sold it to provide for a back up in case the price of UACN choose to go down after investing 100% of what I had in my porfolio before selling the land. As it stands now I have a whole lot of cash (sales of the land, dividend of wapco and little dividend of JB. And I am still waiting for the dividend of UACN by 16 July to join them in case the unbundling continues to delay) waiting for the price of UACN to fall to N5 and below.

Like I said ealier I am willing to wait for the UACN and the unbundling project untill December 2020.

I have no fear at all because i did a very good research before deciding to invest into UACN

I konw what I am investing into and my reason for investing in it.

One of the top secrets of the world billionaires is that they invest in things that they know very well they do not gamble
I hope this guy was just boasting and didn't dive in with all cash available. Apparently research was not properly done.

Note the bolded Statement from UACN MD Fola Aiyesimoju

Folasope Aiyesimoju, Group Managing Director of UAC, said:
“The Transaction is a significant step in achieving our objectives for UPDC. In 2018, the Board and management of UAC embarked on a strategic review to evaluate the performance of the company and its subsidiaries. The objective was to achieve sustainable positive financial performance from our existing operations and enable management focus on businesses that align with our strategy. In reviewing UPDC, the Board weighed the long-term opportunities in the Nigerian real estate sector against the fundamental differences between the cash flow profile and capital needs of UPDC and those of the other entities in UAC’s portfolio. Following its review, the Board concluded that it would be in the best interest of UAC to exit its interest in the real estate sector, allowing UPDC to operate as a standalone legal entity, free to source appropriately structured capital and to unlock value for its shareholders.

In September 2019, the Boards of Directors of UAC and UPDC jointly announced three significant strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening UPDC and positioning the company to operate as a standalone entity. This included a rights issue to recapitalise the business, plans for UAC to transfer UAC’s equity interest in UPDC pro-rata to UAC’s shareholders (“UPDC Unbundling”), and plans for UPDC to unbundle the UPDC REIT to its shareholders (“UPDC REIT Unbundling”). The ₦16 billion UPDC rights issue was successfully completed in April 2020, proceeds of which were used to reduce borrowing costs and significantly improve UPDC’s capital position.

In the process of progressing the unbundling initiatives, UAC received a credible offer from Custodian. The terms of the offer compelled the Board to re-evaluate the planned approach to deconsolidate UPDC and influenced the Board’s decision to proceed with the sale of a portion of UAC’s interest in UPDC to Custodian, effectively putting an end to the UPDC Unbundling. We are delighted about the positive impact that a strong anchor shareholder like Custodian will have on UPDC and are focused on ensuring a smooth transition.”

I agree with you, and to top it up, some people here were too emotional about the useless UACN stock. Hence they will loose money big time..

When PapaEmma was talking about how not to trust the current management, people called him names here..they made references to how he got it wrong with CCNN transition to BUA... Such individuals know nothing about corporate governance in my opinion grin grin grin

Custodian must have bought at a premium. The purchase price will be made public in a matter of days.

UACN is a the largest shareholder of the company, the stock exchange will be informed about the transaction, volume sold and the price

Lafarge at N11.75k has H1 EPS of N1.45k

BUA at N39.00 has H1 EPS of N1.03k.

The market can decide to be irrational, at the right time water will find its level.

Lafarge at over N20.00 at is achievable at the right time.

They are in control and management of the company, so everything will be good for them.

The sale will give more cash to them, which they can invest or spend on behalf of the shareholders as they wish.

They have sold a lot of properties of UPDC in order to be liquid, now selling part of UACN shares in UPDC for more liquidity. They should be able to get another N10 billion to N12 billion from the sale of those shares
