Nawa oo..on top this studying medicine grin..2.5 million for school fees.. though my first time of hearing about the school sef..

aboking:
Edo university is a nice school but only for those who their pickets are full. We were paying 1.5 million per session but it was increased to 2 million and when you get to clinical you will pay clinical fee of 500k amounting up to 2.5 million per yr. It wasn't funny for some of us who have other things to take care of. For the cost of transfer I pay 20k for transcript then I applied for inter university transfer to AAU , when my application was approved I paid transfer fee of 350k to AAU.

First degrees accepted for MBBS D.e

Physiology
Plant biology or botany
Zoology
Medical laboratory science
Biochemistry
Microbiology
Biological sciences
Pharmacy (not sure)

Which School did he Graduate from?
Most Universities prefer First Degree in Life Sciences and Basic Medical.

Even if you read mathematics/statistics
Agricultural science.
You can apply through D.E
It's not limited to Basic medical or life sciences alone

Samuelpeters hasn't discredited your claims, you can see he asked "What school did he graduate from?" and "Most schools prefer first degree in life sciences and basic medical sciences".

Nevertheless, it's great knowing the University of Calabar consider first degree holders who aren't from either the life sciences or basic medical sciences.

All those screenshots were in the past 90’s and co. The number of school that accept any course as first degree into Medicine is limited. It takes lot of research to know.

I am a final year med student of UNILORIN. I opened this thread cos I noticed there isn't any that is specially for medical students, and I believe this is an opportunity for all docs in the making to meet, chat, share experiences, ask questions, and even make new friends!

Jambitos who wish to study medicine are also welcome...

I guess it all depends on the school in question. I know some schools only consider some of these but not all.

Anyway, thank you for expanding the list.

I need maximum reply to this post abeg

I am probably just too ahead of myself but I can't help asking this abeg. I am not a medical student yet, although I think I stand a good chance. I have applied and all but still, anything can happen. But I like to plan ahead for things and I am already thinking of life as a medical student. From various things I have read about medical schools by medical students here, I understand I am going to be awfully busy and 24hours will be barely enough when the time comes (and here I am at home thinking of what to do with excessive time I have now..lol) but I can't imagine the thought of being dependent on my sponsor for the next 7 years. It's just so horrible to me. The expensive schools fees, the expensive and numerous books and then my own fine boy upkeep money, accomodation and feeding and other things. So here I am asking current and past medical students, is it ever going to be possible for me to hustle while in medical school to atleast make things easier on my sponsor and make my life eaiser. And also, what kind of hustle can I indulge myself in then that I will have time for. Have you yourself as a medical student done anything like this or seen any medical student hustle for money while in school. Btw, I am 20yrs Old. Thanks.

Combining medical school and hustling is not going to be easy...You can invest now and get your ROI while in Medical school...I know a medical student that has a taxi and the person that uses the car pays him weekly and he's doing very well..When you eventually gain admission, you can patner with any of the tutorial centres close to you and be making stipends from there..you may even decide to have your own tutorial centre..you just have to be able to set and manage your time we'll.

Help me out.
I wrote Waec and scored good grades in all subject except my biology at d7. And I scored 248 in jamb this year. What's my chance of becoming a medical student and possible course I could opt for if medicine isn't feasible?
Thanks anyway for the awaiting replies.

Biology is a must hope you know that. It is best you write NECO or Wassce.
As for the score I can't say really when it comes to federal University. I know of people with 245 that got medicine in state University as indigenes. Just hope for the best

You need at least a credit pass in biology to qualify for Admission.
Your score is not that good but its depends on your School of choice,State of origin and general performance of the students.
