The military has been recently stingy with information on the war in the Northeast. Their recent update was only full of praises and they avoided giving figures and specific operations.

Boko Haram/ ISWAP has been quieter of recent, other than their internal wrangling.

I might be wrong, I might be right. Just saying my mind.

NIGERIAN ARMY SIGNS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR PRODUCTION OF MILITARY HARDWARE

The Nigerian Army has on 6 August 2020 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with Super Green Security LTD, Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria and with Command Engineering Depot for the production of military hardware and other defence equipment.

The signing of the MOUs is in line with President Muhammadu Buhari's Executive Order Number 5 signed into law in 2018 aimed at improving local content in public procurement of science, engineering and technological equipment.

It could be recalled that in line with the Federal Government's desire to ensuring that individuals and organisations produce their basic needs, the NA has since keyed into the Federal Government's agenda by ingeniously manufacturing some combat vehicles and equipment such as Ezugwu Mines Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles, TYB Infantry Patrol Vehicles, the Conqueror MRAPs, boots, steel helmets and fragmentation jackets among others.

The representative of the Chief of Army Staff at the signing was Lt Gen LO Adeosun, Chief of Policy and Plans (Army). The representatives of Super Green Security Nigeria Ltd and of Command Engineering Depot were Major General AB Abubakar (rtd) and Major General SS Araoye, respectively. The Director General, Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria, Major General Victor Ezugwu while signing the agreements commended the leadership of the Nigerian Army for making the Army to be gradually self-sustaining in the development and production of Military hardware and equipment.

These commendable efforts by the Nigerian Army under Lt Gen TY Buratai have saved the nation huge amount of foreign exchange that could have been used in the Procurement/purchase of these products/equipment which are usually not readily available in the open market.

Boko Haram Satellite Bases In Niger, Zamfara Boasts 400 Active Fighters – HumAngle Investigations

Following a recent report by HumAngle detailing the puzzling web of an audacious network of active cells and strategic alliances by the Jama’atu Ahlil Sunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad, otherwise known as the Abubakar Shekau faction of Boko Haram, in Northwest and North Central Nigeria, investigation has revealed that there were 400 fighters in Niger and Zamfara states by July 2020.

The figure does not include those of Ansaru, an Al-Qaeda linked group that has been operating in the Northwest and North Central for a much longer period, the HumAngle investigation further revealed.

This has always been my fear all this while, bokoharam spreading across Nigeria would be very devastating

I disagree. Nigeria is too big for boko haram or any terrorist group. They can shine in one state like Borno or a group of states,,,, but spreading across Nigeria is spreading thinner and thinner, and they would be crushed faster.
For Nigeria as a whole,,,, no way....

I salute the Nigerian armed forces truly, despite all the challenges. The crisis we have endured could have overwhelmed many African countries. That is the only reason I criticize modestly.

No half-measure border barrier costs will be astronomical at the outset but will recoup the cost in many benefits besides terrorism. The alternative, which is what you fear, will be more expensive in terms of lives lost, infrastructural destruction, ethnic unrest and opportunity cost between investing in development or repairing, protecting and hunting cells. Let us just hope that a snippet of the comment attributed Burati the other day, which is that he stated that these terrorists are all homegrown, was a misquote. This is not because Bokoharam, ISAWP, and the rest will be more difficult to defeat if their fighters are all home grown, since actually they would be easier to defeat, but because the comment would tells us something unsettling about the capacity and agenda of our security institutions.

Gallant troops of the Nigerian Army have neutralized armed bandits who infiltrated Dogon Ruwa, Ungwar Bera and Zamfarawan villages in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State on 6 August 2020. Many rustled cattle were also recovered. Details later.

Good one. I think the DHQ stingyness with info is because of the many ambushes troops have suffered lately. Am not sure though.

Very interesting shocked grin grin
And the write up his very practical but the only thing his I doubt if Nigeria would go into war with any enemy with such capabilities to hit Nigeria with surgical strikes in the early days or times of the war.
And none of our neighbors has such capabilities now but that his not withstanding that we should up our game.

Demanding people do the right thing, isn't looking for trouble, regardless of what the majority might overlook.

No no no,,, you are a trouble maker. You can't demand people to do the right thing when you don't do it yourself. Besides, even if you demand, you should not force them to do it.

You are just an unpleasant fellow. A big trouble maker. Shift abeg.

I know they can't be as strong as those in borno, they would be acting as experienced bandits in those areas which can be very deadly cos they know already how to make IEDs, suicide bombers, and would be more experienced in carrying out ambushes against security forces than the regular bandits.. It would be very easy for them to carry out attacks cos the security architecture in those areas are not as strong as North East. And most importantly our military is already involved in alot of operations around the country and stretching them further might not be easy.

Don't think they are so eager to put soilders to fight for u. They are here to run intelligence on BH/Iswap ops and expand foreign interests.

When will this Nigeria security agencies defeat all this bandits and terrorists killing everyday in the North west.

What's different in the way we're handling our security problems with the way the likes of Sierra Leone,Liberia, Guinea Bissau,CAR etc would have handled it In fact absolute majority of this African countries you want to be downgrading are absolutely better than Nigeria in terms of security.

We just like to dey over hype ourself grin
