Just finished an annoying delivery trip.
When I got to pu, the girl that ordered brought a cake that was to be taken to cmd . I started the trip in her presence to confirm the address. A mosque was used as address *maybe for landmark*. I moved, immediately. Got to the mosque, called who I was to deliver to.
Me: good morning, ........... I’m to deliver a cake and I’m at the mosque.
She: look for number 8
I looked round and number 8 was just after the mosque. I told her I was in front of number 8. 10mins after, I called again to inform her I haven’t seen anyone.
She: what are u saying! U are not in number 8.
Me: ***surprised** ***abi no be number 8 I Dey see? And I already ended trip ooo.
I had to call the lady that ordered to explain. It was then I discovered I was a street away. immediately,I drove to the street, after getting the name.
Called on arrival, she was too harsh. Hian!
I saw someone come out to carry cake.

Me: my money is 2250 *showing her on the app*
She: ok, lemme take the cake and collect money from madam
Me: go and collect before you pick the cake.

As if I knew something was about to happen*

When she left, madam called and said she can’t pay 2250 and will pay 2k.
I just locked my doors and was chilling. I guess people around noticed and came to ask wassup. I explained and someone paid the 250 for her.
For deliveries i end trip after confirming i am with the right person for pick up.
And yes like you, no money - no letting go of item.

*_Question: Concerning the 10% commission that will be charged by the government, will this not add to the suffering the e-hailing drivers are already going through?_*

*Answer: The government official detailed the explanation. He said the government will charge 10% commission NOT from drivers, but from whatever commission the App companies is charging their operators (Drivers). For instance;*

*_Question: Can the government not find a means to shutdown the defaulting App companies instead of using physical enforcement on the Operators (Drivers)?_*

*Answer:* *Drivers should stop enslaving themselves under Uber and Bolt. Because for government to recognize any App in the State from now on, such App should be able to submit their Drivers(Operators) details to the government, and as we speak, Uberbolt has not done these! Meaning that they are not yet recognized. The government will use both technology and physical Enforcement on any violators of these Guidelines.*

So many holes visible on this guidelines and they all seep off irrationality and greed from our government

This wasn't thoroughly reviewed by which ever committee making the announcement

Nigerian government and useless policies. How can you tell if I am Uber/ driver if I Noh show you my phone.

How can lastma or vio ask me for my phone and I will hand it to them? because I don't know how they can identify e hailing cabs without having to check drivers phones.

PEDPA will find it difficult to operate because e hailing is a tech business and cannot be subjected to conventional regulations.

Uber/ bolt will just close their physical offices and keep operations strictly online. Shikena undecided

Honestly,I really don't knw wat lagos government is trying to achieve by all this.this is absolutely rubbish.
Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by davit: 4:55pm On Aug 09, 2020
Thanks for this. Na drivers dey allow the rubbish.
Felicity0001:

Honestly you nailed it. Uber needs to review all these policies to say the least because I wonder why sb would want me to deliver their pakacge at their door step. The annoying one is that you've to start calling receiver and sender from d same small fare they want to pay.

Even this issue with loads it's beginning to piece me off, what most rider do now is order uber after keke or yellow taxi must have bill them high because if their load but las las uber will charge 400/500 naira for a trip yellow cab or keke must have charged 2k.

That was how I got this request today at pipeline in front of good luck Jonathan estate, drove to pu only to c a guy with two bags of charcoal.
R: pls I'm going to the next b/s
Me: whats inside the bags
R: charcoal.
His hands were even dirty from the stains of charcoal.
M: ha! You shld have informed me na, this will dirty my car.
Rider was trying to convince me it won't while I was thinking about it the next tin was ok cancel if you can't go.

Me that hate hearing that word. I just pulles over in front of the Super market, went to easy myself then came back and was buying roasted corn to eat, all of these is just to allow 5min ellaps oh.

The guy was still there.

Rider: Cancel na.
Me: oh! Sorry I tot u have.
Brought my phone put of the pocket it was remaking about 15seconds. I cancelled on "riders item doesn't fit".

The mumu guy got a bike, carry him load waka.

Nonsense, people you want to come and dirty my car for me plus take AC untop N400.

We drivers too have to be discipline as well if you see trips like that reject them and by the time 4-5 drivers reject the person head will reset.

Lol. Phone Tecno? So where you put xiaomi, Huawei or Oppo phones?
ekehopp:

Like everyone has said, go for the Honda. Experience has thought me that for peace of mind, I should always go for the electronic with wide support. That way maintenance wont be a headache.

Wide support = spare parts and technicians readily available and affordable

Thus

car = Toyota, Honda
Laptop = HP
Phone = Samsung, Nokia, Tecno

His request came in and I ask where he was going too, chief said Oregun, I start trip only to see ogudu with heavy traffic...

Me: But u told me Oregun
Rider: I will drop her in Oregun and u will take me to Ogudu
Me: Sir, I'm not dumb when I ask u for ur destination, as you can see the traffic out dia, I don't want to b caught in it and you at a point start feeling unease to the point of finding another means.
Rider: what do we do?

In my mind better, dude was just being harsh all d way and I was matching his bigmanism with good response. The only mistake I made was not rating him 1 star and let him see as I tab the star...

I was at one event center to pick up a rider.
Rider turned out to be the chef for the owambe. Rider wants to pack all her loads into my car. Even gas cylinder and that big iron burner that they use for those big big pots. I was so furious  that I wanted to react and tell her that I'm not going but the little asshole in me whispered and gave me an idea of what to do.
So I allowed her with the help of two of her boys to load their stuffs inside my trunk and the remaining one at the back seat to the extent that there was only a space for just one person at the back. Even the little space would not contain one person comfortably.

As if that was not enough, madam chef told one of the boys to lap the other one. Me was just standing by the side watching them do their thing because I already knew what I wanted to do.
At that point, my rear bumper was about to kiss the ground.

Chef : Oga we are ready come and start the trip.
Me : I'm not going again because of too much loads.
Chef : But it was a driver like you that brought us here with all these loads.
Me : No vex. I no know say the loads plenty like this.
Chef : So why did you allow us to take the time and pain to load and now you want us to unload everything ?
Me : No vex.
They started unloading... me return to my watching position until they were done.
As them suffer me, make me burn fuel to come do the work of a truck, nothing do me if I make them sweat small.
The thunder wey go fire that driver wey carry all those loads still dey do press up for national stadium.

I read what @babadee1900 post and I couldnt finish up, cos all I'm seeing is rubbish, like absolutely rubbish, but we have feeble minds, dat will cave in. Mykab going for a meeting, sound funny, who send them? How many trips deh don complete? Hen going to Lion battle ground. The so called union should take a back sit, nobody send them, they r completely stupid, including the Ayodele guy, they r mere opportunist looking for who to devour in the name of regulations... take a look at what delivery men r facing today, a tout that can't go thro d stress, stay put at a point and rip them off all the risk they have been endangered from point to points and our so called chairman and traditional leaders r backing them up, shame on all of them, nah to leave this country begot peace of mind pass. Let the so called Ayodele show us the number of trips he has completed? These people including the senior advicer to Sanwo lack knowledge, Uber or Bolt does not have office in Lagos state, they need to get that into their heads, so they should not expect them to b present in such stupid gathering, what they used to have is a place of gathering where they put a computer on a table and may choose to pack up with just one Ghana must go bag, no fixed asset anywhere, same reason is why Bolt careless if they open dia office or train any driver again... they can operate from sky, if the so called power drunks want to go after the drivers, let them, learnt they r disturbing ordinary cart pushers, Las Las majority of the populace will fall back to crime and become another menace to the society. As much as I feel for the yellow cab, time has grown pass that, the world is evolving and we must learn to evolve with it. Yesterday I said Uber/Bolt is more like a necessity, people do take it out of no option, I left home ard 5pm yesterday and by 10pm, I already made satisfactory figures, cos ppl in dia estate don't have the means to get to baba iyabo at dia park, unless they have to start keeping their numbers and it will b so difficult for baba iyabo to keep with d pace and energy will channel into making things work. Before banking industry get dis big, we have alajo shomolu that uses bike wit horn to meet his customers, but time has gone past that. I have said this without number, drivers need to go on a break, let lagos state roll out their so called cars and let's see how far it will work, we shouldn't b mentally deranged, and make our case like a security man that got fired and all he keeps looking for is security job as if his destiny is tie to security. We should b innovative, this greedy bastard won't stop coming for drivers since they can't touch uber/bolt, what they fail to understand is dose guys r willing and ready to leave Nigeria if need be. Just go offline and watch riders do the fight for you, mostly don't let anyone sit at ur back, unless the front sit is occupied and all phones off dashboard, let's see how dis battle plays out.

The most stupid ride I took last week was getting a request at GTB Marsha from Adelabu going to Lawanson. I'm supposed to take Ogunlana straight down, I don't know if the woman watch me start the trip.

R. Place let me get fruit at the other side
M. Drove and pack beside the round about, thinking it was a quick buy (She alighted to get all d fruits in africa)

She got into the car for me to start propelling.

R. Please enter this marsha car park, I need to get some tin
M. Straight face, temptated to talk, but remind myself, it will b better to get home in one peace, already pick a battle date with one rider today

She came back after some mins and I zoom to take a turn just after doing that to Ogunlana

R. Please park, I need to get groundnut here
M. Jesus! Please just take this wheel grin

@DeeDee, the fight nah next week o

Heirachy Greetings to you all!
I have thoughts about Expensive Car for Uber vs Lesser/ Moderate priced car options for Uber. For the lesser one, Can Hyundai i10 2012 be used for Uber and Taxify?

Will it be too slow for riders?

I need your opinions.

Spot on bro

Babadee1900:
* IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT*
* IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT*

*THE OUTCOME OF MEETING HELD AT THE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION (MOT) CONFERENCE ROOM ON 6Th OF AUGUST 2020*

*THEME: REGULATIVE GUIDELINES ON THE OPERATION OF RIDE SHARING APPLICATION AND THEIR OPERATORS IN LAGOS STATE.*

*In Attendance Was Proffesional E-hailing Drivers and Private-owners Association (PEDPA)Representatives,Mykab (Reps), Ekocab, Amrol and some drivers representatives.*

*The meeting Starts officially around 2:20pm, Opened by the P.S MOT*

*He said the Basic Reason for this Meeting is to Officially Notify the General Community of e-hailling drivers in Lagos State of the Government readiness to enforce Operation Modalities any time from Now.*

*First and foremost, all App companies has been mandated to obtain their Operational License immediately.*

*As soon as the payment is made, verification will commence and thereafter a Certificate will be issued to them, while their App will be Linked with the Government API for proper monitoring of all transactions and revenue generation.*

*The PS stated that Once Enforcement starts, Any App company that did not comply with the Lagos state regulations will be shutdown Technologically and thereafter physical road arrest of their drivers will commence.*

*Moving forward, the SA strongly advised drivers to assume full responsibility in ensuring that they scrutinize the App company to ensure they have fully complied with the regulations of Lagos State before signing up to do business with them. He further said any App company that has done the needful should give their drivers a Tag which will be provided by the government based on the number of their drivers on government API.*

*If a trip is #1000 and the App Company charges 20% on it, that mean the App company has taken #200 as their commission on that trip! The government will then charge the App company 10% out of that #200 commission. That means the government's commission will be #20.*

*_Question: Why will the government charge the App Companies commission?_*

*Answer: The government has put in place an enabling environment for the App companies and their operators to carry out their businesses. Such amenities includes:*

*1. Good road system*
*2. Street lights*
*3. Safety and security*
*4. Emergency services.*

*The government representative further stated that if the App companies can charge their operators 20% from their earnings, then the government is justify to charge the App companies too for making use of government infrastructural amenities in the state.*

*_Question: What can be done since the giant App companies are absent in the meeting?_*

*Answer:* *The government stated emphatically that there is no Giants or small players here, everyone is Equal and will be treated the same. Everything is starting afresh he stated.*

*_Question: Does these meetings affects the E-hailing Bus sector?_*

*Answer:* *No, we are talking about Car hire online Taxi service.*

*Senior Adviser to Governor Sanwolu on transportation matter. Arrived!*

*He was briefed on what has being discussed so far and he took over chairmanship of the meeting.*

*He said he is not surprised that the so called giant App Companies (UberBolt) are not in attendance, because they have never seen the government as a serious entity in the Past. Frantically speaking, the government is now ready for Full Enforcement. And the government is not going to be at their mercy. He also warned the Director of VIO not to circumvent the enforcement.*

*The President of PEDPA, Comrade Idris Shonuga Oluwaseun commented saying he frown strongly at the way some government officials addressing Uberbolt as a big player, when in actual sense the so called Uberbolt have taken the industry to 17 years of straight backwardness. Comrade Idris Shonuga Oluwaseun further emphasized that as a result of Uberbolt inability to comply with government REGULATIVE guidelines, that led the Vehichle Inspection Officers (VIO) to be empounding the cars of e-hailing drivers before PEDPA stepped in to address the issue!*

*Speaking further, Comrade Idris emphasized and demand to know what the government plan to do about price regulation, which has led the industry into backward position. He further stated that the regulations should not only be centred around revenue collection, but also putting adequate mechanism in place to ensure satefy and security as well as moving the industry forward from the present backward position*

*He further elaborated on irregularities of these App companies and recommended that the government put adequate measures in place to protect the interest of the OPERATORS, who are NIGERIANS youths that has choosing driving as a means of sustainance, due to high unemployment rate in the country. Most importantly, the E-hailing drivers partners have United under the umbrella body of PEDPA and we Have MYKAB as our TECHNOLOGICAL TOOL to restore the glory of E-hailing industry*

*Buttressing on that, the SA, Strongly Advise the E-hailing Drivers should fall under one umbrella Body, for us to be strong enough to protect the interest our services on any E-HAILING platfroms. He also lay emphasis on appropriate profiling of E-hailing operators to ensure adequate security measures in the state*

*Mention was made about how many association in existence at the moment. PEDPA was then INTRODUCED as a National Association*

*An Observation was raised by Mykab representative. He refuted the the public illusion about the so called supper powers, saying that we Indigenous can also do better than them if we cooperate with ourselves*

*He also ask the government REPRESENTATIVES on what are they giving back to the App companies that will comply with these Regulations guidelines.*

*The SA responded by saying that the Government will definitely give back to any App company that comply with the Lagos state government regulations business sustainability, enabling environment and friendly government policies for the business to thrive. Expanciating on the need for App Company to carry their Drivers along through their Union before starting their Operations.*

*Speaking further he said, drivers should endeavors to ask questions from any app companies they intend to render their taxi service. if such companies have really acquired necessary operation license from Lagos State government*

*_Question: Can drivers come directly to the government for all these requirements._*

*Answer: Yes! government will give such driver documents based on what he want to do with his Car, if it's normal taxi, driver will have to paint the car to Lagos State Color, with a Red number Plate, in short everything about the car will be commercialised.*

*Speaking further he said, the Government will not short changed anyone in this regulative process. Anyone using a private car for Commercial purpose is at his own risk except if it has to be through the App Company.*

*The meeting was brought to a close by the SA in the Absence of further questions!*

*Thank you All.*

When Leaders in government talk they lack shame. These Special Adviser lack simple Arithmetic Sense (not insult). Tbey couldn't even gather young vibrant minds together to think on their behalf, on how they can arrest and leash these tech giants to dance to their tune.

They're are too blinded by greed and self that they lack common ideas. #Uberbolts will out wit them over a million times.

India was able to ban over 50 Chinese apps from streaming on there air waves because their government and industry players has the technology and manpower experts to do this. The clowns in Lagos State government and Nigerian government at large are still reasoning with slate and chalk.

The are boasting with park touts turned LASTMA, VIS as instruments to collect imposed undocumented levies. In other climes everything is technologically computed. Over here these visionless people are still plying motor park ticketing for revenue collection.

More Laughable is, for a government stooge to espect a tech firm to deliver to them, access to their highly sophisticated data base Server, located some where in only God knows, probably, silicon valley, secured in an unbreachable, hack-proof system. So they can apply 20% on every company's own 20% commssion charge on trips (ie 4% on each trip), though price is reasonable, but method of collection, LASG are jokers. This SA sounds very ...(wish not to complete).

The Tech giants globally namely Facebook, Twitter, Google, Instagram etc and still counting, have become so closely impossible to be controlled by the governments of the host countries where they operate.

Facebook for example, was compared and likened to a Sovereign country of its own, due to the number of persons, groups, companies that
register and subscribe to the social platform daily. This was 10 years back, today Facebook is been compared to a Continent. While Mark and his teams projection for next 10 years is to compare Facebook to another planet. Alien subscription will soon commence.

Tech Firms are the most uncontrolled and unregulated industry world wide. Until you can pull off the kind of expertise and Innovation they display in the IT world, you will only be making more ass of your self if you decide to engage them. And thank your stars if you where not caught on camera when making such speech.

When people in government is ready to do the right thing for the sake of the masses, we will know. All this chest beating is for their pockets alone, not even for government coffers. #uberbolts knows what they're doing and they're not going anywhere anytime soon nor are they going to blink concerning this unproductive meeting.

Drivers will suffer it. But this is Nigeria.
