Not long ago, she started complaining of the pain again and it was worse than before. The pain was excruciating, most times, my sister wakes up crying

Doctors and pharmacists in the house, kindly help me check this out, pictures are attached below. The toe is also swollen. Help me diagnosis and effective medications please.

(PS: I still suspect it's Athlete foot disease or Onychomycosis, but I need better knowledge from the doctors in the house. Thank you)

I'll say my mind, I'm no health expert but i have, like every other person on Earth, the ability to make observations. Give that girl good food, make sure she maintains proper hygiene on her body and around her surrounding. Sometimes, na money be our problem. We just have admit it. That's a subtle way of summarising my observation.

Oh, sorry about that. My sister suffered it years back...she used a traditional medicine to cure it. Please, find a cure fast because it can damage the nail or spread to other toes.

Boil hot water, add salt and let her soak he complete foot into it. Keep doing that, morning and night. If u try that for about a week and no improvement, then, take her to any government hospital

Hi,

This may be gout. This is caused by excessiv uric acid in your blood. Its a kind of arthritis. The excessive uric acid in your blood forms sharp crystals in one of your joints, can be the toe and is very painfull indeed.

Until your appointment, you can ice and elevate the joint, and take anti-inflammatory drugs such as naproxen and ibuprofen. Drink plenty of fluids, especially water. Stay away from alcohol or sweet drinks.

Ensure to go to a doctor asap.

athlete foot are cause by bacteria. But in your sister's case it is warm definitely not what you think. Take her to hospital

Ask a doctor to check her Uric acid levels for a condition called Gout It attacks the small joints especially the toe. Without treatment it could result in nerve damage over time.

Allopurinol will help to reduce the uric acid levels

Colchicine will break the uric acid crystal build up at the time of an attack like the one you showed

Diclofenac Sodium or Potassium is an anti inflammatory medication to help with reducing the inflammation

As a precautionary measure, she should go for a test as well to check her kidney function regularly, because the Kidney is responsible for breaking down the uric acid to be passed out of the body as urine

Before you do anything, go for a test and determine what is going on with her, but it looks like gout

That toes looks infected by bacteria and it looks dirty even at this point

It's nothing much to worry about but still needs some drugs

She should be washing that particular toes with hot water and detol and keeps the entire feet neat

The nails growing in the toes need to be cut out especially the one by the corner

A pharmacist can prescribe drugs which is an antibiotics

She will be fine but must keep the leg neat always, because it doesn't look neat
