Nigerian government and useless policies. How can you tell if I am Uber/ driver if I Noh show you my phone.

How can lastma or vio ask me for my phone and I will hand it to them? because I don't know how they can identify e hailing cabs without having to check drivers phones.

PEDPA will find it difficult to operate because e hailing is a tech business and cannot be subjected to conventional regulations.

Uber/ bolt will just close their physical offices and keep operations strictly online. Shikena undecided

True.

Even the car inspection for new applicants can be done via Skype or any other online video application

Indriver doesn't need to be bothered at all. They have no office or rep here. Even if they start taking commission, no Govt people to disturb them. By then, it will be a case of drivers telling their riders not to sell them out.
Crvrider:

This thing is real and could affect the business. These ehailing companies are taking the matter seriously. Got a call from an indriver rep. today, some lady with a foreign accent. She wanted to know:

If am aware of the governments new policy?
If I know what the governments intentions are ( which of cause is to start collecting commissions from the ehailing companies)

Also requirements from the drivers
She asked if I have the lasdri card (I answered yes)
If my car is nothing less than 3 years old. (I answered no)

There's really going to be some serious shake down...drivers get ready.

Why haven't I been fortunate enough to complete a ride on indriver since I registered?

Request will come, before I'll offer my price, it's already taken.

Got a notification one day. Egbeda-to-cheveron drive. And it was showing #3,100.
Before I'll say let me offer 4k and manage it, trip have already been taken.

Some drivers got no chills to think if the price is favourable or not, you will see a request of 4k norm and someone will offer 1500 on indriver and a slowpoke driver will just quickly accept without accesing the distance of the trip and if possible there will be traffic on the way...

That's why i hate that indriver.

Let's wait for an official statement from the LASG.

As per the new cars, or 2017., it won't fly. Simple, the economic conditions of Lagos can't sustain it.

2017-2020 model cars in a developing country for cabs.... embarassed.
At what fares ₦60/ km?

NB: if you’re lucky, you can get good naija used with 800k - 950k but don’t go for any v6 car oh

Where bolt and uber trumps indriver is in terms of pricing when there is traffic. Don't forget the driver takes it all, no commissions attached.

I took the following request this morning just as a case study:

From: Akeem shittu st. 11
To: CMS bus stop
Riders price: 2100

Uber's price: 1600 - 2100 (with commission)
Bolt's price 1700 - 2100 (with commission)

Ride details:
Distance 21km
Time 32m

On uber I have heard drivers say in shock that after a trip they saw 300naira, this is something you'll never see in indriver, the least is 500 and you're not obligated to go on the trip.

They way me I see this policy regulation something is like this

The state doesn't really have any intention of making this policy mandatory, I feel like it's all for show so that all this e-hailing companies would look at their side and if possible show them love (money wise) then they'll act like it was all just rumours and the whole stuff would fade out...... for a while

Then!!! They'd actually implement a real policy after like a year or two or after the current administration that wouldn't be as insensitive as this but would still be able to supply them enough to eat and be okay.

This has always been the way things are and I feel this "regulatory policy" won't be any different

Or am I mistaken?

Thank you for bringing out this important fact, a lot of drivers forget they are not paying commission on indriver, remove the commission and you will see that it's practically same thing

What brings this quote?

Am i against indriver or the kinda fare drivers accept without offering their own price.

I'm talking about when riders offers you ridiculous price and drivers just jump into accepting without accessing the distance.

Will it be same thing when a rider offers you 1500 for a trip of 4k norm and you quickly accept it cux you aren't paying commission from the money n while on the trip, you encounter heavy traffic.

Would you say its favourable?

I feel what the app should do is to assign the offer to a driver closest to the rider and allow the driver to offer his own price and if the ridee doesn't accept the offer, then the order can now be sent to another driver instead of assigning one trip to 20 drivers and not giving them the chance to bargain.

Some drivers will just quickly accept it and later want to bargain cux they don't want to loose the request to another driver but it would have been late cux they already accepted the offer.

You don't know the app well, there is no way it will give you 1,500 for a trip of 4k.
I have used it very well, so I know what I am saying
