Hello,

Please can anyone recommend a reliable omugwo service that can assist with a new born in the Ontario Toronto area? The couple resides there but dont have family to come around to help after birth.

Getting that kind of help in this quarantine season will be very hard if not impossible.

Hi All,
Wanted to share this to help anyone looking to give birth in Canada make an informed decision cos knowledge is power!

A relation of mine came over late last year and had her baby at Oshawa and we found out that the child delivery charges are a fraction(less than half) of what the charges are in Toronto( where she delivered her previous babies)

Below is a breakdown of charges for child birth @ Oshawa

Doctors(obgyn) fee...$1600 (irrespective of c-section or natural delivery, and provided delivery is without complications)
Ante natal check up...$72.50/visit
Blood tests...$51.20
Ultrasound...$175.40

In Toronto Doctors fee is $3500 (this is the charge as of three years ago for complication-free delivery and does not include ante natal visits, blood tests, ultrasound)

Hospital fee is $2500/night...this is same across Ontario (of which Toronto and Oshawa are part of)

Hope this info helps in making informed decision...
Hello please can you help me with cheap hospital in Kitchener

Good evening to all

I have gone through the pages and from my findings I understand that getting a visa for birth tourism is almost impossible currently, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I haven't visited any country before but I plan on going to Canada to give birth please what's the best visa to apply for and what chances do I stand. Any information will be helpful

This place is so dry now.

From what I understand, Canada hardly give visit visa without travel history. You may be lucky though.

Also I think first step to child birth waka is to first secure a hospital OR an OB/GYN to work with. Once that's done, then you can then start with the Visa application documentation.

I think the easiest way to get one is through referrals from friends who are based in a particular city where you intend to give birth.
Other option is from fellow landers who have used one in the past but you have to read through the thread for contacts/names that some people were kind enough to drop on the thread.
Also you may lookup via google but this mean you have to streamline your search to a particular city and be prepared to make many calls/ sending a as many mails as possible. If you are going to make a call, to take into consideration the time difference.
Another thing I find out is most hospitals won't accept direct clients, unless they are being referred by an OB/GYN. Also I find out that the OB/GYN first want to know if you are in Canada or have a Visa ready before they can give any positive response. But then again, you just have to try.

Kindly advise her properly..getting a Hosp and doctor don’t suffice anymore at least not in recent times..I advise her to get the Regional health authority letter everyone that applied was asked to get..ones inability to get it led to refusals for many people..

How will someone who is in Nigeria get the required Regional Health Authority letter? I had presume getting a doctor or hospital can help facilitate securing the authority letter OR what do you think?

Hello House,
I applied in October 2019 and my EDD was in December, 2019. Was denied in April, 2020 after the arrival of my Princess. This took about 120 days for them to reply. The reasons for my denial was “purpose of visit” and “travel history”. Mind you, I got an invitation from a family friend but yet, I was still denied based on the above reasons.
Good luck to the rest o. Would still try again though.

Sorry about the Denial. Pls I have a few questions if you don't mind.
Do you have strong travel history?
Do you have strong ties to Nigeria like a job, other children, landed property e.t.c
Did you state 'childbirth' as purpose of travel?

Congrats!

I dont have any experience with Visa so you have to try your luck. however, doing paper application instead of online will be faster and better for you.

Toronto or anywhere in the GTA will be better for you. 1 bedrom apartment can go for 1k dollars .

Good luck

Hello @hotstepper i really appreciated your great inputs just weldone

i really need to get information from you can i leave you my email or number please

The restrictions placed on tourist/visitor visa will soon be lifted, so the option for giving birth in Canada will soon be open, but there may be some guidelines and rules attached to anyone entering Canada from another country.
