After my last experience with the 7series, I finally bought a x3. I have always been a fan of the x5, but the x3 has a better ride quality. Oh boy, that car na something else. My fx is on jiji available for the next user.

Good evening guys. I just got this lovely E39. It’s from Germany, and used by one of their own here in Nigeria. It was barely used. The tyres manufactured in 2000 look brand new. I’ve driven in it just once and it’s thrilling all the way.

It has a couple of lights on the cluster, ABS, Check engine, and something I’m yet to decipher. I hope to get an e-manual because the seller didn’t provide me one.

I noticed a few required fixes -
Upholstery
Faded instruments pane
Brake discs
In effective braking
AC chilling only through some vents
Cracked windshield
Worn wiper blades

I am NOT a fan of BMW V8s.

Buy a 2012 ML550 instead. Should be about the same price, while being a far more loaded car. Comes with the M278 4.7L Bi-Turbo V8 pushing 400+ HP and almost 450 lb-ft of torque. That's the car you want. If you want more power, you can get a tune for about 200k that takes it to almost 600 HP.

There are plenty of MLs from that generation around already, so parts shouldn't be an issue. All CLS550's also use that engine, so you shouldn't have any issues. Very solid engine either way.

,would you pick a 350 over a 550 of the same year (2013) if they cost the same? Considering having to worry about about the Turbo.Never owned a turbo charged vehicle

Hmmm. I'm not sold on turbocharged engines either but the M278 is widely considered to be very solid.

Depends on what you want at the end. The 350 is a 302 HP 3.5L V6, I believe. Not bad, but a lot less powerful than the 550.

Yes the 350 has about the same hp as a 2nd gen MDX which i currently drive, so I'm wondering if that's going to be any different an experience. while the 550 is +100, but then . . is the extra 100 worth dealing with a turbo, this I also wonder.

Would only work if the car has Bluetooth functionality. Some models have the phone button on the radio and steering but has no built-in Bluetooth.

It works perfectly bro. No Bluetooth just the phone stuff. It is for only calls and it has access to my phone book because the name of caller is displayed. I did the connection for my friend's 2005 x5 too and it is works perfectly.

How did you do it. I followed a YouTube video for the ones without idrive where you hood down the phone button on the steering and the radio will prompt for pairing code but did not work. 08 328i and 010 530i

First, locate the unique 4 digits PK attached to your car at the left side of the trunk. (Picture attached).
Then, put on your car radio, get your phone ready. Press the R/T button on the steering. You will see ACTIVATE PHONE on your radio screen. Put on your phone Bluetooth and search/pair new device. Pair using the 4 digits PK (PassKey). That's all.

NB: You may answer your calls with the voice control button (the button below the R/T button) or from your phone.

Hello guys , I just recently bought a Nigerian used x6 35i about 2 days ago ,that's on Friday , the car is neat and all and it's a wow , it speeds up very fast .. but while my mechanic was test running the car , the sellers told him not to press the car accelerator on park , please does this appeals to all BMW , because the dealers were shouting "they don't accelerate BMW cars on park" ,that they only do that when it's running , we didn't raise the car , my local mechanic just looked at the engine saw that it was extremely clean , and then test drove it 3 times for a very short distance .. then he told me.the car is fine .. so I paid for it..

fast forward to when I was going home not more than an hour or 2 , on Maryland/ojota link bridge , the car stopped moving and moved into neutral , we tried putting it back to gear , but the car wouldn't move to gear , it wrote on the screen that "breaking/chassis stabilization malfunction , a danfo car brushed me in the back because of how the car stopped .. we had to call people to help us push it.to nearby place where we can park it . We parked it .. my mechanic checked the car for all possible fault but couldn't say which is wrong with it.., we waited for almost an hour before we started the car again and the car picked., But it continued showing that warning on the screen, during the hour of waiting I called the dealers that the car has stopped in traffic and it's not moving , they said they would send the bmw mechanic that usually repairs the car to come and check it .

My mechanic managed to drive it home , but while driving it after it stopped , he noticed some sound in the engine that was sounding like something was clicking , he told me the sound isn't a good sound , he said it sounds like when a engine is forcing itself to work.. I overlooked that ..

The next day the dealers mechanic arrived to check the car , one of my very good friend also came to help celebrate the new car , the bmw mechanic did several scanning , I asked him if this has ever happened to the car before , he said never , he was did all he could , then decided that it will be one of three things that's wrong with the .. he mentioned 3 , but I couldn't grab what he was saying , he said he'll order it at ladipo , and he'll come to fix it on Tuesday .. when he was about to leave , my friend jumped into the car and pressed the accelerator while it was on park twice.. he immediately called me and the bmw mechanic , that he's also hearing sounds in the engine , that the last time he heard the sound was when his corrolla engine was about to knock , that the sound he's hearing isn't a good one , the engine isn't good .. the bmw mechanic scolded me that I shouldn't let anybody accelerate the car while it's on park . He then started saying one Venus or venom makes that sound in the engine also if you accelerate it on park , because he also accelerated it also on park . He didn't denie the sound ..
Now the dealer is telling me the owner said he won't collect the car from me anymore , that I tested it with my mechanic before I took it away, that I can involve the police .

My question is , BMW owners , did you guys accelerate yours cars on park or not ?.

And please what do you think is the next step I can take ?.

You have entered one chance there is no car you can't rev on park once the engine is running. It's even a basic testing procedure of engines of cars.

Your first mistake is taking a jack of all trades Mechanic to inspect a BMW.

mistake number 2 is not running when you were told not to rev a car in park, it's a basic rules when buying anything used and seller starts giving rules, it's a gimmick

mistake 3 not testing the car on long distance for your satisfaction even if it's to fuel the car for testing 12k could easily fill the tank. you loose 12k instead of 5m.

mistake number 4 no warranty

The engine was thoroughly washed doesn't make it clean o. Like nurey said, there's no car you can't rev on P. Where's the car now? The message on the screen relates to xdrive system tho but BMW throws all kinds on errors that are confusing e.g a bad battery can throw transmission malfunction error

35i is the N54 engine. The engine is about 800k to 1m. I have a friend in Ogudu that can fix that car for you. He worked on my e70 too.
