Apart from the Mi remote that comes default there are other third party app like SURE and Anymote

Xiaomi don't use an app drawer by default go to display settings to activate it if your launcher is updated.

Pls, i trying to update my Redmi 8 but am stuck on this 83% for over an hour now. Who knows a way out to continue the update without it starting all over? I have switched off data several times and equally switched on airplane mode hoping to remedy this issue but it's not working out.

Good day, my "solution" to a situation like this is to click on the download bar showing the percentage and options would pop up to "Continue downloading"(sth like that I'm not sure) or cancel, click on "Continue downloading" and it would resume, I've used this for myself a lot of times(just my personal experience, not guaranteed it would work for you) when there's a pause as a result of a network glitch.

Hopefully, this helps someone out.

Guys I don't know how to explain this, so I'll do it the best way I can. I used my screen recorder 30 minutes ago, but after I finished using it I noticed that the touch gestures is still working, making it look as if my screen recorder is still active.

I've tried force restarting and even clearing the storage of the screen recorder app but it still persists till now. I've forced restart 3 times.


Note: this happened after I used the app to record when I was playing a game.

On God... except for those with Tweaking needs,,Mediatek has been really on top of their game of late...and I like that it comes with affordability...They really gave Qualcomm a run in the midrange section,,this year hopefully flagship section next year...The overall end result of this is the overall enjoyability of we the end consumers...cause that way they will be forced to drop prices

1. check your power button to make sure it is okay.
2. check if your device schedule off was mistakenly turned on.
3. consider backup n factory reset.
I don't advice reflashing full ROM because your device might power off during the installation which will lead to an automatic brick.

I think it has to do with ram management. I've been tapin the clear cache app and the phone hasn't turned off since then. Is there an app I could download that would monitor the ram management automatically?

Very possible. I advise you download using IDM+(check revdl) for easy resumption when network shates

How to manually update..

Go to Settings > About phone > System update.

If tapping the 3-dot button shows the “Choose update package” option, click on that and choose the downloaded ROM from your internal storage or SD card. In case you don’t find the “Choose update package” option from the 3-dot menu, tap on the MIUI 11 logo inside the “System update” page several times. A prompt will then show that additional updater settings are now available. Now you can tap on Choose update package and select the MIUI 10 update file

That’s it. The system will start decrypting the file and install it automatically for you. Wait for it to finish the process, which may take 10-30 mins

Data should be on during the decryption process

Hi guys. So I'm having a problem with updating my Redmi 8 to Android 10. Because I was yet to get the new update from my system updater, I went ahead to download the new update in a zip folder from the MIUI updates forum. But anytime I try to effect the update, I get the response in the attached image.

PS: my phone is a global version, and so is the update I downloaded.
