NIMC: National Identity App Not Yet For Public Use by GreenAgain(op): 2:46am On Aug 18, 2020
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) says the mobile application designed for digital identification is not yet approved for public use.

The application allows citizens to log in with their national identification number (NIN) and registered phone number. After a successful login, the application is expected to display the full details of the citizen, including a photograph.

Some Nigerians who, however, tried to use the app had complained about the flaws — including wrong identities.

But in a statement on Monday, Kayode Adegoke, spokesman of the commission, said the application is still being tested and once the test is complete, Nigerians would be informed.

“Our attention has been drawn to several complaints about the NIMC mobile App. We will like Nigerians to be aware that the app is a novel innovation by the commission, but it is yet to be officially approved for public consumption,” the statement read.

“The app is still in the test environment and currently being fine-tuned to give users the best experience with adequate privacy and data security safeguards. Once the test stage is concluded, the Commission will issue a formal statement regarding its usage by our esteemed NIN registered persons.

“In the same vein, we want to assure Nigerians of the security of their data. Our systems are configured to ensure the utmost protection of the data.

“Members of the general public are hereby strongly advised to disregard commentaries and information from unauthorised sources about the app and other activities of the commission. The official communication platforms of the commission are the only authorised sources of information pertaining to all its activities – press releases; media parley; website and official social media handles.”

Alright, thanks for the viable information.
Sane, honest and hardworking Nigerians will be waiting patiently.
We won't join the illiterate that can't read and spot this part of the thread.
Wailing is their lifestyle.
They wail on everything and anything concerning our darling nation.
Pessimists children of hate, frustration and perdition everywhere.

The level of inordinate combination surrounding the NIMC, one begins to imagine why the management is still wobbling. You want to capture, you have to pass through stress, after capturing, to collect your card is trouble. For almost 5years after I captured, to the get the card is still not possible.

Re: NIMC: National Identity App Not Yet For Public Use by Rebuke:
Smh! Very unserious people. I have never seen unserious set of people like the ones in this government.

They launched the app, some people were already praising buhari on twitter only for people to download the app and start seeing wrong information.

I personally downloaded the app and got my details but no passport on the ID.

I just deleted the app and reinstalled just this morning and started having issues login in again.

It keeps telling me no data found.

When yhu know yhu ain't ready why put it in the public?

Now lying to cover up their ineptitude. Silly people.

A software that's still in beta testing was released to the public, after leaking so many people's data to the public, all they've to say is that the application is being tested. Who uploaded it to Store?

When the pros in my dev community were analyzing this disgrace, you can only laugh. And it's not hard to access the database through that useless app. And the billions they would have earmarked for that project would been enough to start another Google.

The idea is not really bad, but corruption wouldn't allow anything to succeed in this godforsaken...!
