don't do anything man.. don't pack out of your parents house. leave the money there or put more than half in a fixed deposit account. just continue your life until you have a stable income. don't rush into anything.. you might live to regret it

#1 million can finish in a week without proper planning. Do you have a stable source of income, if not what's your plan to get one? Don't rush out just because you feel you're old enough. If your parents place is comfortable, why the rush?

somehow:
Where on earth can you buy land for 500k and sell for 10M in 2 years? /\*
if u buy land today for a poarticular price in some yrs time u want to sell it the price will thriple as long as no earthquake or some serious natural disaster happened in that region..I just gave example with those figures. You have more financial security buying a land.It will benefit u and the family in the long run.

Buy a land NOW only if it's a GOOD deal.
Buy a land only if you don't need the money in the next 5 years.

Pack out of your parent's house only if it will help you to make more money.

If your money is not consistent, stay back with your parents, grow the money to 3m at least, start a business. You can move out of your parent's house to start your business.

If you are a salaried worker, check your job security, career growth. If they are favorable, move out.

MrBrownJay1:

bro, a bank buying your land is one out of A MILLION, and there are thousands of people who bought useless lands in Nigeria... here is a clue: all the waterlogged parcel of lands in and around Lekki have a owner.
as for staying with your parents at such an age, i guess to each their own. many desire their independence, and are tired of living under their parents roof. so you want him to buy lands so he can stay under his parents roof until he is 30, abi?

the dude is gainfully employed so he can get an apt and pay the rent, without having to spend the saved million.

there comes a time when a MAN has to leave the nest and discover what life is all about. being cocooned by your parents for too long can be counter productive

this person like watching Nollywood..you think a bank will just start demanding for your own land out of all land in the vicinity..

MrBrownJay1 if the land his parents want him to get is in a choice location then he should not think twice. I bought a plot of land at Greenville Estate Ajah just close to co-operative villa for 1.6 m in 2012. That very plot of land now goes for nothing less than 10 to 12m. The dude is still young and industrious to be able to save that amount. And he can save more while still living with his parents. There is no shame there
Wow. After about eight years. But didn't the estate pressure you to develop the land or try to take it back from you?

Good evening Nairalanders.

Please i need an advice on the next step i should take in life. I am a guy, 25 years of age and still living with my parents, though i am not jobless but recently my bank account just hit one million and 200 thousand naira.

So my parents are advising to buy a landed property in my home town that will take about 900 to 1 million naira. But the thing is that i am 25 and i feel at my age i should no longer be staying with my parents, so i want to rent a flat and furniture it to my taste, i feel it is time to move on, i need my freedom to finally face life like a man.

So my question is, should i purchase a landed property at 25 and continue living with my parents or pack out and start my Adult life. Note: i am not jobless".

All those asking you to move out are not smart.

Kindly leverage on the free accommodation and free food to grow that capital.

Believe me, 1 million is nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grow your money while you can still leverage on your parents.

Who living alone help?
Don't waste your resources.

Haha at your age I had 3m still living with parents and taking it slowly. I won't advice that u buy a land and don't be too quick to move out. The most important thing is how do u continue to earn more money. This thought alone could lead u to starting a business and when you have bought the land or secures a apartment, how do u start the business then. At 25 u have a long way to go and throughout the journey, na money u need oo.

I fenced it and put a gate. I also built a security house and hired a hausa man to live there with his wife and 2 kids. The man guards the place. And all recommended estate dues and development levies have been paid. So no issues at all.

Lmao!! OP does not know that 1 million naira is like 100k nowadays...its like breeze. by the time you rent house and furnish baba your money don finish. Its better to use the money to set up a business or invest in something legit for passive income. Don't start a business you don't understand or invest in what you don't know o.

Bros pack out from that place, u still dey chop mama thank you , untill you start fending for ur self u won't know what life is

get ur own place and start planning ur future, ur 25 now before u know it ur 30, with no place of ur own and no responsibility, abi u no dey think of marriage ??

I started life and got married with the properties I bought when I moved out of my parents house, till today am still using most of them and that has saved me lots of money as buying those things now would have been very difficult

the land at the village you don't have money or plans to develop it any time soon, so what's the point??

Bros reason, and stopping eating mummy thank you

This right here just reeks of poor mindset.
How would you pride in still using properties you bought ages ago till now? Years into your marriage.

your a fool, years after my marriage like u know when I got married
abi if the properties are still in very good condition I should throw them away because am married
you obviously sound like a little child, the point here is you can start life as a married man with the properties u have as a bachelor, it makes it easier for you at that stage.

or your telling me I should throw away my state of the art television, fridge, washing machine etc cus I got married...you must be really sick

infact the only mistake i made was not buying more as a bachelor cus now bills don plenty

Your parents are wise that's why they advise you to get a land.
After purchasing the land then you start building a house for yourself in which you will build ur own home after all you are working. Instead of spending the money to one landlord. If I had parents like yours by now I would have had better structures in place. Most parents will make you to be build for the family first before yours and you will be forced out to get a place of your own.

Isnt it a good thing to be a virgin as a man? i wonder why you guys think it's falling of hands for a guy to be virgin,be a good boy and remain decent.I have been searching for a virgin husband to marry within the age bracket of 30-35,it seems to be in total extinction but I'm still hoping,so you should be proud of your virginity as man,its a pride for men also

first time I'm seeing a lady in search for a male virgin......but why does virginity really matters to you though?
