Please Advice Me

Please NLs advice me, I am serving my Oga what we Igbo people call (Igba boyi) now I am saving his money mostly from profit, I want to use the money to start my business when I am settled and it has reached 1.3m but my mind is telling me to show him the money while the other mind is telling me not to show him the money.

Please advice me on this.

So you alone have 2 minds and u want to add up the minds of all other Nairalanders before u will have sense on a straight forward issue. What u did is called looting, but you are lacing it with sugarcoated explanations, that's why u are battling with guilt cos u didn't obtain the money directly as a gift from your Oga. But be assured that once you show him the money, u have shown yourself the way out and he wont settle U, cos he will never believe u don't have more looted funds stocked up somewhere. Since you've taken to this and you call it proceeds from profits, u must be stable enough to handle it, but if it was stolen then karma awaits you. If you are still confused, maybe your Oga prayer points in mountain of fire has caught up with you, it's time to go for confession and restitution b4 you develop high blood pressure on the small money u looted but cannot spend it.

I was given a seperate shop to manage and I am really doing fine there, I also gave him 500k and 400k two times when he didn't ask for it, this money I am talking about was the one I saved to use after settlement.

Did you make this money at the detriment of your boss or his business? What I mean by detriment here is whether you've shortchanged your boss directly or indirectly.
If the answer to this is yes, give the money to him.

Did you make the money from extra profits? Example; your boss told you to sell a commodity at the rate of #5000(his profit included) but you were able to sell the same commodity for #6000 or more.
If the answer to this is yes, then you can keep the money.

Return the money. It's not good to invest or start a business with ill money.

Whatever you sow, that also shall you reap.
Do unto me as you would want others to do unto you.


With these two statements above, I have this to tell you:

Returning that money to your oga will put you into more trouble. Your oga will assume you have been stealing from him, and probably started having guilty conscience.

If you have a good relationship with your oga, tell him you have been saving his money for him from the extra price hike you give customers. That you just wanted it to reach 1m before telling him.

If you don't have a good relationship with him, forget it and use the money to start up your own. What if you tell him, and he gets angry to sack you?

1.3M is much , how do you made such amount of money from your oga business . (Igbo people and money).

Honesty is the best in everything you do.

My advise for you is to try to be honest with the money . Give out of the money to other boys and help other people with the money . Or you can return the money back to your boss ,which I believe will be hard for you to do
