Have you applied to a uni yet? Do you hold an admission offer? If yes, you should know by now. If not, see link below

how much is enough?? including tuition and all

I must leave this Nigeria.

Then put in the work it takes. Do your research. Don’t just read page 1 and conclude that it’s stressful. Think of a course that would suit you. Go online. Apply to universities. Know the financial requirements for a tier 4 application. Get your account funded and get your documents ready.

You can’t just “want to leave Nigeria”. Put in the work too. Best wishes!

Why don't you google uk schools and check for their fees and living expenses?

So you don't have limited information because school fees and living expenses vary from school and cities.

Good morning guys not to derail the thread but to resolve an argument, between Canada and UK which is more easier to navigate in terms of Msc. for immigration purpose as an IT student?

Have you done any research at all?

Tuition fees per year at a relatively cheap Uni will set you back around £12k a year. That’s N7.3m. Undergrad courses are three years long but if you’re able to transfer, you might be able to start in second year. Still, you’d need 14m for tuition alone.

Even if you plan to live with family which I assume is the case since you say food and accommodation are sorted, you would still need to show UKVI that you have the funds available to you (living expenses £11,385 + tuition for one year.....so about £23,500 sha).

N5 million will not be enough.
Living costs that you have to show in your account for schools in London is £1,265 per month * 9 months = £11,385. This alone is about N5.6 million using Oanda rate.

Visa fee is £348, IHS is currently £300 for each year of your course but this goes up to £470 next month. The current total of this for a 3 year course is over £1,398 which is about N700,000 plus TB test is currently N57,800.

Then tuition fees of a minimum of about £9,000 - £14,000 depending on the school. Convert this to Naira and you have over N5 million to pay in fees.

Use Google or www.findamasters.com as a start point for your search. No one can do this for you as you need to find out this info by yourself so you can know and choose your best option by yourself.

In terms of actually getting admission to a Uni, the UK is by far easier. If you don’t have at least a 2.1, getting on to a masters course in Canada can be tricky.

In terms of the visa application itself, the UK is also generally easier in terms of have the cash in your account or your parent’s account, have an unconditional offer and you’re most of the way there.

The main thing I think Canada has over the UK in terms of the application process is you can use a third party as a sponsor.

Note that, as per your question, I am only talking about academics here and not post study visas or route to citizenship. Canada beats the UK there hands down.

Canada beats the UK by any measure in terms of ease of immigration for students - IT students inclusive.
The UK is way ahead of Canada in terms of how relatively easy it is for students to get there in the first place.

Good morning I have been scheduled for interview on 18th. Please I would like to know if it's still possible to reschedule for an earlier date. I have told this option has been cancelled, how true is this please

Go to the VAC and pay for walk in service. If you aren’t attended to today, surely you will scale through tomorrow. Go now.

Download the TLSContact track my application app (it is available for iOS and Android) , login with your passport number and last name and you can track your application easily.

There are only 4 stages on the app:
1) application received at VAC
2) application transferred to DMC
3) passport ready for collection/delivery
4) passport returned to applicant

15 working days from August 19 is September 9. So you can start tracking your application from September 7

I must leave this Nigeria.

Intention stated. grin

Think hard if you really want to waste your money on a U.K. student visa application because as it stands, you don’t appear to be a “genuine” student.

I’m sorry but that’s just how I see it.

You may wish to try another category of visa/country.

Good luck!

No, it’s Tuesday 8th of September. The days start counting from the day you get your biometrics done.

Please note that Tier4 main applicants are not allowed to do walk in with their dependants, but dependants are allowed to do walk in with main applicant with 42k for each member of the family. I tried to walk in with my family as main applicant on their appointment date, but all to no avail. I have to keep checking out for a closer date.

Yeah I remember a guy who was tier 2 and had an appointment but couldn’t go in with his tier 4 dependent who had a later date

For everyone asking how to pay via Paga/Verve with your MasterCard, register on Paga. To be on the safe side, upgrade your account to level 3.

How is the upgrade to level 3 done? I have been able to add my Stanbic IBTC Account, when I try adding my Zenith Account it prompts me that the sum of #100 will be deducted and credited to my PAGA account when I click on continue, it doesn’t go through, is there a way out of this?

15 WORKING days and not 15 days.

15 working days is usually 21 normal days if there is no bank holiday within those days. But considering yesterday August 31st was Bank holiday in UK, 15 working days from 19th August will be 22 normal days = 10th September . Comprehende?? undecided

??

There are 4 nations in the UK. Cost of living varies.
Some Saudi boys are in school and driving Jaguars. Some students are working desperately and illegally and sometimes futilely to fund the balance of their school fees.
So being a "student" has no one-size-fits all cost.

This life no balance, really. undecided angry grin
