It's not always the same. I had to do a 2nd interview over the phone for about 70mins. Note I said 2nd interview.

Some people have it easier than others.

15 WORKING days and not 15 days.

15 working days is usually 21 normal days if there is no bank holiday within those days. But considering yesterday August 31st was Bank holiday in UK, 15 working days from 19th August will be 22 normal days = 10th September . Comprehende?? undecided

Seems you did not comprehend my question, anyway Badtempest understood my question and has explained it. undecided

Gurus in the house - URGENT REQUEST

Please am asking for a friend- she went to uk on visiting visa around March 2020, and got stuck because of coro, while still in the uk, she wants to put in for tier 4 student visa, she already got her admission, paid her deposits, and funds are available in her uk account. The question now is will she need TB Test? and if YES, where can it be done in the uk. She is in LONDON to be precise

She'd do well to mail UKVI because she's not spent up to 6 months in the UK and under the rules, you have to have spent at least 6 months in a country that doesn't require the TB test to be exempted.

But seeing as so many concessions have been granted for those applying from the UK when they normally would have applied from their home countries, she might not need it but only UKVI can confirm that since she still needs to meet all other requirements for the visa.

People, I visited the UK last year and loved it. Not necessarily because it was better than the countries I've lived in but my God, it felt to so good conversing with people freely in a language I speak fluently unlike my life in Germany where I struggled badly with the language. Now I'm in Nigeria and I want to go back to the UK and I need advice. I apologise if these questions have been asked earlier.

- I already have a Masters degree, will it be an issue at the embassy if I should apply for a one-year Masters in Management or MBA. The goal is to change from STEM to Management.

- What are the odds of getting a visa if I'm using a loan for tuition such as prodigy finance etc. Especially as I plan on going with my wife and kid. I'll rather not go anywhere if my family is not coming with me. I've had 5 European study/visit visas including for the UK while she will be applying with a fresh passport.

- What are the odds of securing a graduate job after study. This is an important aspect.

- I see information that my wife is allowed to work in the UK and without restrictions. How true is this?

1. If you can justify your need for a 2nd masters, you're good. But it normally shouldn't be an issue since your previous study wasn't in the UK and if you're able to link it to the ability to move up to management positions in STEM, it sort of ties in with your professional aims which also ties in with the reason for choosing your course.

2. If the loan meets all the T4 requirements, you stand a high chance of getting your visa. I know that Prodigy has been used successfully in the past so it shouldn't be a problem but ensure to check if prodigy is available for your school though.
Note that you might be asked questions around your current earnings vis-a-vis the loan repayment during your interview.

3. This largely depends on your skills, how well you sell yourself to employers and how early you start your search.

4. True. Except as a doctor or dentist in training.

Dear Nairalander, thanks for your supports so far.

My situation is a bit hard but I need your advice.

I completed my MSc in the UK in September 2019, I resumed in Germany for another study. I came to Nigeria(planned 2 weeks) and got stuck because of Corona(Visa&temporary BRP also expired). I thought it was over and I won't be able to return to Germany because I left without my BRP(it takes months to get it in Germany).

I submitted applications for MSc in the UK and I never mentioned I am a student in Germany because I felt won't go back. Just a few hours ago, I got my German BRP. I intend to either drop my Germany programme or combine the 2.

I have always been scared that my Visa might be denied because I didn't declare studying in Germany. I am also thinking I should communicate with my UK school about applying for my UK Visa in Germany since it was easier for me to move from the UK to Germany. Does it make sense to apply in Nigeria than in Germany or I should use my German address and book my Visa appointment in Germany? Thanks.

I am also scared of my visa application in Nigeria because I will be applying with my family in Nigeria(ECO might feel I won't return to Nigeria(travelling with a 4 weeks old baby)). Can I apply from Germany while my family are submitting Visa applications in Nigeria at the same time or they should wait till I get my Visa in Germany

Not related but do you mind me asking why you want to leave Germany for U.K.? Especially as I guess you’re studying tuition free?

Under parent's info: DOB filled for my dad was 3rd instead of 5th.

Is this nothing to worry about or I should do a cover letter

Hi Mimilyrics, what visa would a dentist in training apply for? If the person originally came in as a Tier 4 dependent.

I'm not the person you quoted but I feel I'm qualified to answer since I also studied in Germany and plan on moving to the UK with family too.

For me, it's firstly the language. Not being fluent reduces your chance of socializing, networking and of course, getting a good job. God help you if you're not in a big city.

Secondly, it's difficult to bring your family over to Germany unlike the UK as a student. In Germany, your spouse and child, depending on their age are expected to at least pass the minimum German language requirement. And besides it's better to bring your partner over to a country when there isn't a large barrier like language to employment prospects. That way, both of you can work and contribute to the upkeep of the house.

Lastly, I don't know how true this is. But with UK leaving the EU, I believe there are better prospects for a even playing field between non-EU citizens and EU citizens.

Good afternoon Mimi, (and anyone else that may have been in this situation).

My TB certificate indicates the number of accompanying dependants (we all tested the same day) but I’m applying alone for now and my application states no one is accompanying me. Is this an issue?
