As Africans and even in some other parts of world, a number of young people are brought up to the reality of things being made a little easier for their existence especially in the early years of life and even into early adulthood.

From parents who work their fingers off to see a majority of us through the 3 stages of schooling and way into adulthood, to senior siblings who became assistant parents to their younger ones when they didn’t have to. For some people, this culture of always having things easy breeds a very unhealthy ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY that leaves them thinking they deserve everything good, handed to them on a platter, even when they don’t work for it.

We grow up expecting a lot from people but the truth is:

No One Owes You Anything!!
Not your uncle that promised to help you with fees in University and his numbers remain very much un-reachable even long after you’ve finished NYSC, not even your friend who promised to inform you when a job opening comes up in the company they work in but somehow forgot.

A lot of young persons are so used to being spoon-fed until they’ve developed a very unhealthy mentality where they feel entitled to being taken care of way into adulthood and this has bred some adults who become very bitter towards people whom they believe should help them but have refused to help them, they fail to realize that no one owes them anything, the people who worked to be able to afford the luxury life reserve the right to extend help to people they want or not, they do not have two heads, if you want the good life, get up and go get it.

1. Life is full of lies and you can never see that light unless you reject every thing including the truth then you learn again.
2. Ignorance is actually bliss (I regret knowing somethings)
3. Been good doesn't mean you'll have it good with people some will hate you for been good
4. And most Importantly this world is not for the weak and fragile you gotta get your hands dirty sometimes.

What you are to your parents is a RESPONSIBILITY, but what you are to that relative, that friend, that brother is an EMERGENCY. So, please, if they make efforts to help you, show gratitude, if not, just bounce. No need holding grudges.

There's a difference between "I'll find you something" and "how much do you need?"
If someone wants to "find you something", anything should be appreciated.

That your lover dumped you today doesn't automatically mean you'll see them hawking plantain chips or gala in traffic. You can also see them in their expensive ride, fine house and cute family while you're still broke.

Start taking all the right decisions necessary for your own growth. That you suffered growing up doesn't mean you'll become Dangote tomorrow. Life isn't Nollywood.
