@Naijaforeigner - Please i have a further question to the clarification you just made to lord AA and this question is also open to anyone that wants to contribute.

I guess i need to refill my form IMM1294, i filled tuition for the 2 years in space for tuition and i also filled the exact balance in my sponsors bank statement ( Luckily i have not yet submitted my application, still gathering documents).

1) So my question is by what variation do i put as funds available for my stay lets say for instance what my parents has now is money for the first year which is maybe 11m and i intend to show valuation report of landed properties worth about 40m that is 11m + 40m = 51m ( as an example) to proof i can sustain myself throughout the duration of the programme.

How much can i put as funds available for my stay with just 11m sitting as liquid fund in the account to convince the Visa officers?.

2) Just for me to understand the process clearly, why is it only the first year tuition one has to put in the space for tuition and not the two years?

(1) What you should put as funds available for your stay should be either equal or greater than the sum of tuition + room and board + other

Attaching landed properties is showing the visa officer that your sponsor is financially capable to take care of you without issues, your education in Canada will not be a problem to them, to serve as home ties and so forth.

If you have landed properties worth 100M, all you need to include as funds available for your stay is a reasonable amount that you think is more than sufficient to take care of your studies for 1 year.

for example, if your 1 year tuition is $10,000, room and board $10,000 and other lets say $3,000, Total = 23,000

funds available for stay should not be less than $23,000. In your case, because you have more than $23,000 available, you can write $30,000, that's absolutely fine. That means you have added extra $7,000 for unforeseen circumstances

(2) To the best of my knowledge, IRCC requests for only 1 year.

Hello my people,
When check the processing time for study permit outside Canada, what does the field "where are you applying from" mean? Is it the country one applied with their passport or the country where one submitted the app in?
E.g I submitted from Turkey, though online, so do I select Turkey there or Nigeria?

You will select Turkey. However, from experience, whatever processing time you see for study permit applicants from Turkey to Canada, multiply by 2.

I applied from UK in 2018, processing time back was 3 weeks but it took them almost 6 weeks to approve my application.

And now with the whole Covid situation ......

All the best.

Good day everyone. My dad is sponsoring me, what are the documents I need from him?.

1. His personal bank statement of account

2. International passport

3. His proof of source of fund, ( Business reg and tax documents)

Do I also need his company statement of account?...

Yes, you need to attach numbers 1, 2, 3, birth certificate and certificate of Incorporation if you can.

When I did mine, which was paper application, I included it. With online, there is limit with the number of documents you can attach.

If there is space, you can, if there is no space, don't worry about it.

Just make sure you attach his SOA showing more than enough funds to take of you for at least a year, what he does for a living and documents to prove it.

Hello everyone!
Please I'm new on this platform... Someone advised me to join...

I need your candid advice..

I graduated in 2013, HND upper credit in petroleum and gas processing engineering..(I will be applying for Chemical engineering)

I want to apply for a post graduate diploma in Canada.. I must admit that I may not have adequate fund required to thread on this path..

So my questions now are these: Is it possible to get any form of scholarships for PGD?

Do I need to do WES in other to be eligible to apply?

Will I be able to manage Altleast #2m naira over there in Canada..
Lastly do I need my Waec certificate to be able to apply and do I also need the Waec certificate at the embassy.. (my Waec certificate has lost... Though I can get an attestation copy if necessary)

Thanks in advance.

(1) Scholarships for PGD? none that I know of. Your school may give you discounts on fees but definitely not full scholarships for college students.

(2) Will I be able to manage 2 Million naira over there in Canada? This question is not specific enough.
Is it manage for tuition? for accommodation?

(3) Some colleges will request for your BSc degree/HND degree and WAEC results or certificate . You can let them know you don't have the WAEC certificate. Send your WAEC results and provide a WAEC scratch card for them to confirm.

(4) You do not need WAEC certificate at the embassy.

You said you do not have adequate funds, so why do you want to follow this path?

You also have a lot of reading up to do. All the best.

I just don't know where you guys get this information from..pls where is your source? Cos its feeding people with unverifiable information and it's scary. I will advise you go back to several threads backs and see PGD applicants getting approval. One notable person in that category is naijaforeigner. A 2.1 bsc graduate, traveled to canada for a PGD, graduated and working.

I have repeated this here severally, a visa approval is dependent on how your package your application and sop. Its also dependent on the visa officer whixh is why everybody needs God. Be you a masters with scholarship or not or a PGD with deep pockets or not, you can either get an approval or get denied. Your school or level of program doesnt add jack.
Hey,please is 25 too old for a bsc in Canada? I'm not using this means to run away. I seriously need a degree after several years of backlog, God blessed me with funds and I need to get a quality education now to mend for loss times

From what I have observed on the forum if you have B.sc already, it is not easy to prove to the VO that you are going for career progression tho

Applied July 8th. Did biometrics 24th August. No MER or any form of update since then, except I noticed eligibility review commenced around the end of July.

You must be among the first Nigerians to receive an AIP this month. After the initial AIP waves of late July/early August, things went quiet, at least on Nairaland. Glad to know that things may be moving along again.

I'm guessing that u meant to type 22nd of August and got refused on the 4th of September. Did they send an email to you or what? Just calm down, relass and be taken kiaruf first (kidding grin)..
Why are u rushing to reapply?
Why were u rejected? Is this ur first application?
Have u done biometrics and medicals?
Which session are u for? This Fall or Winter?
Which school, course & program?

Understanding why u were rejected is very important, so using same bank statement should be the least of your problems now #myOpinion

There's nothing to be sad about my dear.. Our timelines in life are different so I'll encourage you to pursue your dreams.. First thing is to get admission, ensure to select a high skilled course that is poorly taught in Nigeria and a school whose tuition fees u can prove to afford all through the duration of ur study.. Kindly start looking for admission & read this thread very well.. All the best & Congrats for wanting a better life

I was quite anxious myself. My classes commenced on 1st of this month and I joined in from the start too.

I received a mail to check my account and the pdf file ‘other’ which has the ‘AIP’ details had been added to the other files.
