I jerked out of unconsciousness when i felt a hand loosing the face gag used to blindfold me.
I wanted to scream though i was very weak, hungry and thirsty.
The soft hand covered my mouth from letting out a scream.
"Its Ike,its me boss"The voice whispered.I recognised it so i calm down until he untied me.
My whole body was bloodstained and a putrid odour emanated from my body.
I couldnt even stand on my feet as i supported myself hazily on Ike.
He was wearing like a gangstar. He was all black.Hanging on his waist belt was a pistol and a lancet.
His face was well disguised with a black face mask and a dark sun shade.
"Boss am sorry for coming late,i tracked you down here"Ike voice was nerve calming and soothing.
"Thank you,i cant walk"I replied gratefully.
"Lets get out of here immediately"he ordered and carried me on his back like a baby and ran out of the dilapidated building into the thick forest sorrounding it.
I noticed my weight restricted his movement but he hedged along doggedly tirelessly.

He ran and ran with me on his back.
"We will soon be where i packed my car"I heard him said every now and then to keep us company.
I heaved in relief when i saw his sport car.
He dropped me down and helped me along to his car when we heard gunshots from every corner.
Ike pulled me from my leg and threw me into his open roof car while he brought out his pistol and reciprocated in defence.
I cowered my head to prevent the stray bullet from hitting me but i could hear it rattling on the bullet proof car since it could not penetrate through.
I have never seen Ike in this mood before,he was always a quiet and reserved type who will virtually oblige and succumb to everything he was told to do.
After about ten minutes, the gun shots seized as i saw Ike and a huge man challenging each other with words.
"If you are a man then drop your gun, lets do it man to man"the man jeered. He was monstrous in size.
Ohh now i could remember him,he was the one called Macho.
Ike agreed to his request as they both went weaponless.

The policemen were trying to calm her down but she just wouldn't budge, she kept on crying profusely.
"Pity yourself and the unborn child please"Gina pleaded and tried pulling her up from the bare floor where she was sitting.
"Just tell me where my fiance is,are you sure he isnt dead?for two days,i havent set my eyes on him and you guys are asking me to calm down hunh"Amanda continously reeled out in torrent.
"Madam, this is not the place to cry,you have made a complain,we will try our best to find him,i assure you madam"The police inspector assured patting her soothingly on the shoulder.
"You hear that"Gina added"Its okay,i believe Mike is not dead, you will see him"

He looked at his watch as he opened his car door ready to enter behind the wheel. He plied out his phone and made a call.
"This is the plan,i will pretend like i am out of the country with traces so they can stupidly be misled then before i move over to Abuja to restrategize. This people are dangerous than we thought"He said.

"Barr.Indimi, good idea.I have made preparation already at the airport, you will pretend to be on a trip to London. One of my Ops will be there to replace you and travel to London while you will see a yellow rickety cab which will convey you to Ikeja where you will lodge at Royal Palace hotel for three weeks to make sure the coast is clear before you move over here in Abuja where we will launch unexpected attack on them"The receiver at the far end emphasized.
"Detective Steve,i am in for it,i will do as you 've said seeing i am their next target"Barr.Indimi declared and revved the engine to life.
"See you later then"the receiver ended.
He dropped his phone.
"Musa!!Musa!!Come here"He screamed and the gateman ran towards him.
"Yes oga,you call me"Musa replied.
"I am leaving this town to London for a conference,so if anybody ask of me,just let them know i am out of town"Barr.Indimi instructed.
"Oga na London or Canada you dey go"Musa asked foolishly.
"will you open the gate for me.you FOOL!!"he thundered angrily.

The banging on the gate was like a thunderstorm raking against an on-board ship.
It was like the whole invisible and visible forces have joined hand together to pull down the hefty iron barred gate.
It tore the peace of the night apart.
He ran to the gate in fear.
"Who be dat"He asked wearing his ótúmópó charm around his neck picking his dane gun as he quickly loaded it with cartridges.
"Ooen the door now or we pull it down ourselves. We can spare your life only if you give us Barr.Indimi your boss"The big voice echoed in the night.
His heart skipped a bit.His boss had just left the country this evening and now here the assailants. Now it dawned on him why Barrister Indimi had sped out of the house giving him strict instructions which kept ringing in his ear`oga no dey'
"Chai,he gulped"oga no dey,im just travel out this evening"He replied faintly, his knees were knocking against themselves. This was too much than he can handle.
"Open the gate you fool"the voices were now threatening.
He pinched himself.

"Musa!dont open the gate"a tiny voice interrupted him and pulled him lightly.
It was Mbele the house help about twenty three years of age.He turned to look at her well, she was wearing her usual skimpy nightgown which revealed her solid breast and thigh.
His crouch rose immediately as he forgot his present predicament.
"I have activated all the electrical strings hanging on the fence. We are safe.Lets just go inside and have fun now that oga is not around"Mbele replied unmoved by the noise.
Musa turned immediately and followed suit.
Mbele was swift, she ran the dagger into his stomach wickedly as she watched him die slowly, his look was suprised. His look betrayed that he could not believe the hurtless girl will kill him.
"Fool!"she muttered under her breath, moved towards the gate and opened it as Five men on black santinos barged into the house.
"Job weldone"the leader smiled mischievously and released two shots more into Musa.
He suddenly turned to Mbele in anger,he smiled wickedly and shot twice her on the head

CHAPTER FIFTEEN.
"Dont tell me you ransaked the whole house and found nothing"Mr Chima screamed and held the thug tightly on his collar.
"We couldnt find any of the document,we are on his heels anyway,we will soon get at him,he travelled with the documents or probably kept it somewhere"The thug relayed and forcefully removed Mr.Chima hand from his collar and turned to leave.
"Tell your boss j wants to see him immediately"Charles thundered.
"My boss is not ready to see anybody now hence my reason here"The thug replied roughly and scurried out of the house.

Central Intelligene Unit,Abuja.
"Three bodies have been recovered,we have ran an autopsy on them and we discovered that the same bullet model prints was found on all the bodies which shows we are still after one killer"Agent Clark relayed to a lady sitting beside him.
"So apart from the bullets,no other traces was found"Agent Hilary asked.
"Not really madam, these guys are smarter than we thought, they even evaded the camera installed strategically"

"but those cameras were situated strategically that even a ghost will take no notice of it"Agent Hilary stressed.
"I quite agree with you but i just can tell how they evaded them that not even their shadows was captured"
"The cases of dead bodies here and there is really freaking hell outta me.I cant remember when last i saw my wife and children. All i care for is job.job.job"
"Dont say like that Clark,at least your family is proud that their father is a vanguard of repute"Hilary paused and adjusted her rollers chair and faced the wall"The job have made me lost my home.My husband was complaining of my job and that i had no time for him,i never paid ears to him because all i cared was my job until Mubarak left me.Till now i havent set my eyes on the love of my life again"she sobbed.
"Am sorry madam,i regret bringing up this topic"Clark replied unhappily.
He turned over the table and faced his boss"God know you are doing the right thing,he will replenish all you lost in ten fold"he said and touched her shoulder

"Its okay Clark, lets return to work now.We have a whole lot of nuts to crack right now"
"Okay madam. We are thinking of calling Barr.Indimi because of the incidence that happened at his residence yesterday which involved the loss of lives of his domestic servants and this look like they were there for the barrister"
"Good move.So i will be sending two C.I.D officers to the hospitals again,we need to unplug their camera and recheck again to know how those animals got in there despite the tight security.I have ordered the hospital to seize its operation for now while we investigate well.
I will also want you to follow me to Barr.Indimi house so we can see if they left any traces even if it is a footprints.
We were told that the house had recorders too so we will have to look for where the recorders is located in the walls so we can see if we can get any clue"Agent Hilary ordered and got up in her full fledged height with her straight legs balancing well on her highheeled boot.
Clark saluted and rubbed his temple

I woke up to find Ike beside me.He was drinking a bottled grape wine as his eyes brow looked dampen.
He did not even see me until i called his name weakly.
"Boss are you awake"He asked with little cupful smile on his thinned lips.
"Where am I"I ignored his question and returned a question as an answer.
"In the hospital"
"Where are those thugs"I asked befuddled and tried to sit up well on the bed but he hindered.
"Take it easy boss...I met you at Barracks gate with blood all over your body so i brought you here seeing you still have life in you.You have been here for two weeks now"Ike explained.
I was still trying to recollect what had happened when the doctor flounced in.
He was plumpy and all smiles.
"I am so happy that you've been rescucitated, your cade was a delicate one"He said and moved closer to us.
"I dont understand"I replied. The duo exchanged suprised glance at each other, then i knew i had said something foolish.
"Dont worry boss, all that matters now is that you are alive hale and hearty"
