The Nigerian factor...too bad!

Shut up.... It is an hospital not an orphanage. They pay workers, buy drugs, and run it with generator.

I know say you get coconut head.
Maybe you should have read the part about when top notch services were provided when there was direct funding from Scotland.

Billing is not the problem, rather it is that the hospital is in the hands of incompetent people.

The guy coconut head is even without water.

“When the Church of Scotland was leaving, the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria came in, probably because most of the workers were members of the church, especially the Governor of old Eastern Region, Dr. Akanu Ibiam, but ownership was never transferred to them (PCN).

“The hospital was offering qualitative services until the 90s when the Church of Scotland stopped sending personnel from the Netherlands, and the clinical services and management became completely indigenous with attendant deterioration.”

The commissioner said the ownership lease expired in 2011, adding that the PCN or any other body linked with the owner failed to apply for a renewal of the ownership lease.

Dave and commando attitude to issues. But he should understandthat power is transient.

Such a shameful act exhibited there by the government. Sent thugs to go and chase away sick patients and staff of the hospital. If you see the video how a commissioner for health led thugs to beat up the chief medical Director and other staff.

A hospital that has served the community for more than 100years since it was established by the missionaries. You came unannounced beat up and chased away over 200 staff of the hospital without any compensation. How they will feed their families does not concern you. What we witnessed there was a worst inhumanity to man by power drunk government officials.

This is even when the whole 13 general hospital owned by the same state have all gone moribund, and you want to take over a privately owned hospital by the church. I mean at a time that governments all over the world are encouraging private investors to take over and run businesses. It was indeed callous.[/quote]

Look at all black countries and you would come to understand why we must question if indeed the racist percentage of the white population was too harsh in saying blacks have inferior brains.
Just look at Nigeria.
Since 1960 everything the whites left for us has deteriorated, power, rails, water supply, lovely towns and cities, honesty, merit and efficiency in government.
Several years back,we even had supermarket chains.
If not for ShopRite,a clearly white owned establishment, supermarket shop experience would only be left for those that travel abroad.
Phones were working, but soon as they left, making calls became almost impossible.
If not for MTN,Airtel started by whites,we would still be lining up kilometres to make a call.Internet service would only have been an Utopian dream.

It took 8years to come to this point?
They would have renamed it Uburu General Hospital or something else.
If Ebonyi State University needs a 'Hospital' General or not, the state and the university should build one.
Ebonyi state use to have a teaching hospital in their name, Ebonyi State University Teaching Hospital (EBSUTH), what happened to it? They converted the EBSUTH to a Federal Hospital (Federal Teaching Hospital Abakiliki) and now they want to snatch a Mission's Hospital for the University.
What does Ebonyi State University General Hospital mean?
Does it mean the hospital will now be under the management of the Ebonyi State University or under the State ministry of health?
I hope the people inolved in this can see clearly the future confusions they are creating.
If the complain is about the high cost, then government can build a general hospital for the community for cheaper healthcare services. Running an efficient healthcare facility is not easy, and what maybe termed high can be due to the income of the community dwellers.

Government took over a private property, changed the name and renamed it after the State Government. Just like that! More than a 100-year-old establishment was taken over and all the property and the financial commitments put into it for over a period of one hundred years suddenly gone like that!

This is just the government's own side of the story. The Church's own side of the story must be heard. Certainly, there should be more to this story than Ebonyi State Government has told.

Those of you over there should be careful of this 100 yrs lease lease. It always expire like seconds. More importantly whatever structures on such land is always a waste as the owner of the land will ask you to carry your buildings go.

Unfortunate!
That hospital must have saved lives & birthed many. That region is quite remote, and for it to be functional till this day shows there is an 'okay' management at least running it.
If people can visit goverment healthcare centers in the villages that have not stayed up to 20 years, they will understand the services any functional hospital is rendering in the rural communities.
It will be unfortunate if the community supports this, because their health is at stake. How many hours from there to the nearest general hospital or teaching hospital?
I hope someone influential intervens, also for the welfare of the staff.

The Governor is a good leader that can turn things around but the Nigerian in other members of his cabinet call for answers.

Heartless Commissioner of Health is after his pocket and not the welfare of the citizens.
