IamWonderful:
Unless you want lecturers to be extremely hostile to female students, I remember a very boring, non vibrant lecture when i was, we usually wonder how he got the job, he normally come to lecture hall to taunt immoralities and ladies, he send ladies out his office like criminals, but later on he stopped and became timid for some weeks, we heard that one fair lady in the faulty of education seduced him and he fell, after the man join gang of randy lecturers, some lecturers don't come with evil mindset but they can resist the heat of seduction from ladies, some jezebelic ladies will do everything to seduce lecturers, when people see opportunity, they might not be able to resist.

Exactly!
The GIVER of Bribe and the TAKER of Bribe are both GUILTY of Corruption.
I have not seen a Lecturer go to forcefully drag a Student from her Hostel, the Ladies always walk-into Lecturers office with their Legs and Eyes wide open.

True sir. But in today's world, there's almost no saying who's the victim...

There have been a lot of false accusations, and musjudgements nowadays that we're not sure who to believe anymore...

What would be nice though, is a departure from the stereotype that the first person to come out is the victim..., the public has to ensure that both sides are heard out before passing judgement...

Even after both sides are heard sef, there's still no saying what's the absolute truth.. cry

Just like in any Criminal case, it should be EVIDENCE-BASED, not this "Sympathy-based" that women are clamouring for! That is a recipe for False accusations.
The Burden of Proof is, as always, must be on the accuser.

Sexual harassment is a menace that need to be eradicated out of our society not only in the schools. It has deepen so deep that the society if filled with sexual predators who see women as sex object. And also the man get harassed government and individuals need to work hand in hand to curb this.

One of the solutions l would advocate is to make sure the Doors of the Office of all Lecturers are Transparent, see-through Glass, with Cameras installed.

Also, If you think a Lecturer is pressuring you for Sex, the School should have a system in-place where a Female Student can request that her Scripts be marked by another independent Lecturer drafted for that purpose, by the School board, and the student must not be aware of the identity of such independent Examiner

Also, if any female student by herself go and meet a lecturer in a Hotel, (as against being kidnapped or dragged), then whatever happens there is their Business.

The Place a Lecturer should not be able to exert his influence on a Student, should be within the Walls of an academic institution, due to the Tutor-Student relationship.
These Female students want to eat their Cake (use their body to score undeserved Credits/Marks) and at the same time, cry wolf that they are being sexually harrassed by the Lecturers doing them the undeserved marks favor

I quite agree with the first paragraph...,

But the issue of evidence is almost impossible to present, especially in Nigeria's justice and even medical system..

Even in developed countries, substantial evidence is difficult,
they'd have to do tests, check the victim's organ(female in this case), check for sp*rmatozoan samples, collect samples from all her partners too, and check it in line with the accused...,

Video evidence?, of rape, that's next to impossible to get except in some extreme maniacal cases...

Osinbajo seems the most intelligent and dependable politician in the country right now.
Others are rearing cows or selling kerosene to some amala eaters.

It is easy to say, but give him the power and he joins them. Has he criticized or lamented against things happening in this government or just delivering lecture to Nigerians?

Let there be strong changes in the various committees that he is heading.....then we will start believing in him.

Osinbajo should stop all these "Political Correctness" joor.
Some Victims have a hand in their own abuse, if we can even call it that.

If you go and do a Sleep-Overnight with a guy you have been sex-texting with, you remove your clothes, took a bath in his Shower, wore his Night wear, lay yourself on his Bed and start smooching, then you wake up the next morning to start claiming he bleeped/Raped you, ... Please, YOU CONTRIBUTED TO THAT SEXUAL ABUSE. undecided

I was once having sex with a girl and right in the heat of the moment, she asked me to stop. I persuaded and tried to continue but she insisted and I just started thinking of cold rotten akamu so my prickkk will stop gingering.

My brother, all I’m saying is that there is no excuse to rape a woman. No matter how much she teases and flirts with you, NO IS NO!!!!

Let’s love and protect our women and children as it is very hard being a woman in this part of the world.

We also need to stop the culture of victim blaming.

No matter the circumstance, it’s never a victims fault for the trauma that befell them. It’s just like blaming the victim of kidnapping for getting kidnapped. Let’s be guided in our thoughts and utterances.

God bless you Mr Vice President, how can a sane person blame the victims when the perpetrator has everything to control himself. I think it's weird take the cases of rape serious in this country before it's get out of control

This is rather "audio"

It does not take on board the different contexts or underpinning complexities.... Some of which have been described above!!

To that I say....

If you knowingly go to a high crime-laden area dripping in diamonds and gold apparel, then you're partly responsible for any criminal attack...

As much as my sympathy goes to the victims of crime, it is alarming, the levels of irresponsibility brimming on stuuuupidity exhibited by some people, who then proceed to display victim mentality after spinning the story on its head.

Caveat... I accept that there will cases where there was a lack of knowledge with people placing themselves inadvertently in harm's way.. In addition, I condemn robustly pedophillic rape..a very real scourge in this society.

And also the man get harassed government and individuals need to work hand in hand to curb this.

There should be opportunities when lecturers can shame girls who openly offer sex for grades.

And like in most places of worship, there's a set decorum regarding manners of dressing and comportment...

For the false accusers, there should be naming and shaming. So this deters women/ men from choosing an ignoble route if dissatisfied with a clearly transactional arrangement.

Maybe then some of these cases will start to decline....and true victims can be properly helped.
