I dont respect a man that changed his surname just to sound greek.

You can still represent greece while bearing adetokunbo.
he didn't change his surname to gain any acceptance bud, twas a mistake done on his passport, guess you don't follow basketball tho
Re: The Story Of Giannis Adetokunbo By Deji Yesufu by saajus: 11:38am On Sep 14, 2020
I like him, but his game is not complete yet. He needs to improve his shooting (mid-range, long-range, close range) and also add some post moves to his skills. Then, he will be difficult to predict and become unstoppable. If he's not improving those, then he needs to change his team to win the Championship, and he should move to a team with great shooters.
If Giannis wants to be a one-club man in his career, I wish Hakeem Olajuwon could use Naija connections to mentor him right now. He faced similar Giannis' frustration of "almost there" in his career before he broke the jinx in 94.

Greek phonetics. Because they don't have characters for "d" and "b" sounds; they use "nt" and "mp" instead.

If any computer operator at the immigration office makes such a very obvious mistake, he needs to be sacked immediately. I don't think it was a mistake. It's a Greek phonetics. They don't have characters for "d" and "b" sounds; they use "nt" and "mp" instead. Remember, he's already representing Greece before he gets Citizenship, so they need to make the name easy to read for their citizens than Nigerians who chased them away,

wow that was lengthy and interesting. Basketball is a game I enjoy more than I enjoy football. I wish I had been exposed to it since childhood, still yet to start practicing it tho but I hope to when school resumes.. I wish our government can invest into this sport like they do to soccer and not bringing only foreigners into the national team. There are a lot of potentials in Nigeria but how are they gonna shine into limelight if sports lovers won't invest in this sport by bringing in experienced coaches to train them and set up good clubs as well. At least one of my kids must be a basketballer, either boy or girl (InshaAllah)

Rest on, Micheal Ojo

That will be the last team on his mind. Do you that he and Harden don't get along? Both of them threw a few word jabs at each other earlier this year during the all-star weekend period. Their beefing has been on for almost two years.
His fastest route to Championship is Golden State Warrior. Miami Heat will be perfect for him too, but he might be ashamed to join a team that disgraced him. He just needs to be surrounded by good shooters. It will take three players to stop him, which gives open space for good shooters to make perfect shot. Imagine what the splash brothers can do with him.

Yes, the most probable destination is Golden State; but you wouldn’t want him to suffer the emotional blackmail KD suffered. If it is possible to join the Clippers, it would be a wonderful move.

True and their father is Yoruba,Mr Adetokunbo and he died in 2017,just 3 years ago. They would have eaten more amala and ewedu than akpu and oha, don't you think so? grin

Besides, amala and ewedu had built a lot of wiorld champions. grin

The mocker seemed to be an Igbo guy. It was to expose his wickedness and bigotry.

Giannis family were an average one; Nigerian food is expensive abroad and I don’t think they would have used their lean resources on ‘expensive’ food. Besides, not too many Nigerians live in Greece; this makes selling Nigerian food unprofitable. They may have eaten Nigerian food but it would be something they would have done once in a blue moon.

From what I gather, the story goes it was a mistake made on the part of the Greek authorities when he was issued a passport.

He did not change his name to gain acceptance in the country he emigrated to.

Even if he deliberately change his name

So what?

I am not reading anything to it. Most times, it is the economy conditions that chase our people away. Who caused that? Nigerians (Politicians). I would have specified Politicians but they are not the problems we have. If we have a good economy here, his parents might have stayed to try.
